Was that your new iPhone X stolen from a UPS truck?
Was that your new iPhone X stolen from a UPS truck in San Francisco?
Nov. 2, 2017
Expecting to pick up a brand new Apple iPhone X this weekend?
Some customers at Stonestown Galleria’s Apple store may have to wait or go elsewhere after thieves stole about 300 of the smartphones from a UPS truck this week, according to KPIX.
San Francisco police are not confirming they were iPhones, just that they were smartphones and they would not give a cost estimate. The price tag for an iPhone X starts at $1,000.
Police said they are looking for three individuals who made off with the goods during a brazen heist around 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The thieves broke into the UPS truck while the driver was away on another delivery at the mall. They stole the shipment before delivering them to an Apple store at the mall, KPIX reported.
Police say a white Dodge van was involved in the heist.
Anyone who has information about this theft can call the police tip line at 415-575-4444.

There's an ATT story in my building. I'm on my buddy's family plan but he's the admin. Can I buy this phone outright and flip it? There's only one guy in line and they have grey.
EDIT: I think I have to wait 60 days to unlock

Ok 60 days to unlock is if you're new to ATT. ATT store wants Next plan today and then I pay it off tomorrow. No go because I'm on my friend's acct and I'm not an authorized user. Meh I'll take the savings of paying only $40/mo for my phone vs the profit. But at this store it's a bust because you can still walk in and get a phone. Gold, black, white 64/256 whatever.
Well.
Setting up the iPhone 8 Plus to see if it works with Acura and Honda Bluetooth.
My first reaction is man...this is huge and heavy. I guess it's the glass back.
But I'm sure you all really want to be hearing about the X. :-)

Having said that, it will be nice to go to a smaller phone. I am going X. I don't see myself ever owning the 8.
The 8 reminds me of the 2012 Civic. Like Honda, Apple knows it made a mistake.
Having owned a 6 Plus and 7 Plus, i really like the "plus" phones (insert BBW jokes).

I'm just really not sure about the X. That said I'm gonna goto the mad house Apple Store to check them out.
Return label's already printed.
Does *NOT* work well with Acura and Honda Bluetooth.
Calls have static, Contacts will not populate, names don't write over call lists....
Pandora won't play over Bluetooth.
In the same place with the same signal, the LG V30 works perfectly. :-(
I am not looking forward to a carry device that's not inside the Apple ecosystem, but the damned iPhone needs to work with my car and that's all there is to it!
Agree that smart phones have been too big, but I lived with it too. The 6 Plus and 7 Plus (to me) were worlds better than their regular size counterparts.
Then again I have small asian penis, so size matters to me in everything.
Broadcom to Apple: Want to use our chips in your products? Well, you have to buy our Qualcomm chips too.

Broadcom Plans Unsolicited Bid for Qualcomm
Potential deal would be enormous, given Qualcomm’s current market value of nearly $90 billion
Nov. 3, 2017
Broadcom Ltd. is planning an unsolicited takeover approach to rival chip maker Qualcomm Inc., according to a person familiar with the matter.
Broadcom could launch its bid for Qualcomm as soon as this weekend, the person said.
A deal would be enormous, given Qualcomm’s current market value of nearly $90 billion. There’s no guarantee an approach will be made or that Qualcomm would be receptive. It’s even less certain that ultimately there would be such a deal, given potential regulatory and other hurdles.
Should there be a deal between Broadcom and Qualcomm, it’s not clear what that would mean for Qualcomm’s effort to buy NXP Semiconductors NV, a nearly $40 billion proposed takeover Qualcomm announced over a year ago.

The most annoying thing for me is that the iPhone always wants to play music so when I connect the USB music starts blaring instead of the audio book I was listening too. I have to train it to start playing my audiobook but if I ever do want to listen to music then I have to retrain it all over again. It tries to play all of my songs in alphabetical order starting with the A's, and the first song was a loud System of Down song. So I'm expecting an audiobook and I get really loud rock music instead, shit's annoying. My iPod used to do that back in the day when connected to my car's iPod dock.
I hear you, but based on everything I have read, the X doesn't behave like that big of a screen. It stands to reason that Apple will build a bigger iPhone X Plus based on all the information we have.
No, you're right. It's more like a higher quality 5.5" in a smaller form factor than the "Plus" iPhones.

If you look at an OLED display off-angle, you might notice slight shifts in color and hue. This is a characteristic of OLED and is normal behavior. With extended long-term use, OLED displays can also show slight visual changes. This is also expected behavior and can include “image persistence” or “burn-in,” where the display shows a faint remnant of an image even after a new image appears on the screen. This can occur in more extreme cases such as when the same high contrast image is continuously displayed for prolonged periods of time. We’ve engineered the Super Retina display to be the best in the industry in reducing the effects of OLED "burn-in."
