Brb checking funds...
- new faster S3 chip
- W2 wireless chip
Apple's spec sheet for series 2 says it's got bluetooth 4.0 and not 4.2 like on series 1 and 3. Typo?

Currently, I'm leaning towards this, too.
I know 100% i'm not going with the 8/8+. I might look into what Google has going on, but I'm pretty Apple-centric in my household.
I'm thinking next year's iPhone will start to adopt the X form factor, anyway.

Chasing bezel to screen ratio is pointless, it will make it especially hard for people who use minimalist cases or none at all. We'll see how it fares it real world usage. They do all that work to remove bezels, and yet give the screen that ugly shape... should have just made it blacked out all the way across the top.
All nice changes though, especially on the X. But I think I'll stick with my 7S.

The skeptic in me wonders if Ill actually get my hands on it much before December. God knows Im going to have to wake up at 3AM in October and hope for the best. Plus Im impatient. I may spend the money on hookers and coke.

No, but it doesn't really matter, which is frustrating. I have an iPad, iPhone, Macbook Pro. I'm not going to an Android device. I simply do not have the cash to enter a different ecosystem.
Apple has tied my hands. I'm staying put.
The next couple of years of iPhones should be pretty insane though. 3/5 iPhone 6/6+ owners I know are staying put because the X is too expensive and the 8/8+ doesn't look any different.
