My 5S regained a gig actually. You could try a backup and restore.

I read a bunch of different people tried loading ios 9 on a clean phone and compared it with ios 8. They saw no difference in free space. So obviously the only thing that changed is free space required is smaller than before, but once installed, it takes up the same space

Safe to assume that nothing other than official iPhone chargers and charging cables work?

No, apple certified ones work fine.

I have an ankle 40W charger and 2meter long cable.

It's the non-certified cheap knock off ones you should be worried about.

The stories of phones catching on fire, they all related to knock off chargers and cables.

I see certified Anker (and other brands), verified purchases that get 1-star reviews.

I'll just bring mine to work. Hope it doesn't get stolen.

That's because people are idiots with their cables.

I'm still running a lightning cable from my launch day iPhone 5!

Just buy an extra cable man. Gets tiring bringing your cable back and forth.
I have 4 now.

@ home, work, car & computer.

The monoprice ones are working fine for my gf's phone. An old ladyfriend bought me a Walgreens knock off that I still use for my old iPhone 4 that my kids use. Guess I got lucky.

Useless update.

After installing iOS 9, it is very noticeable that my phone is slower. Slower to load an app, open messages, almost everything. Yea, I have a 5.

The most I'll update an old phone is 2 newer in operating systems. IIRC the 5 came with iOS 6. So iOS 8 would've been the last one for me to update to

That's a pretty damn good rule of thumb

My 5S and 5 on iOS 8.4 (jailbroken) works very fine. Hell i was on iOS 7.1.2 for the longest time before they jailbroke 8.4 and it was still running great!

The next update is going to be 9.1, I hope it fixes my keyboard going blank when opening the messages app.

Do you use a third party keyboard?

Sometimes the stock keyboard appears instead of swiftkey. Stock keyboard always shows up for password fields. Not a big deal, but annoying.

Yes, as apple said for password or credential entry, a 3rd party keyboard can't be used due to security.

I got the Studio Proper but wasn't too pleased with the fit and finish. It's lumpy where the magnet is on the back too. Ended up getting the Apple silicone case, it's perfect, but pricey.

It's good until the silicone peels off. Luckily Apple will swap it for a good one. Still a PITA having to bother with that.

Totally understandable. My password is almost the only time I tap text.

It just sucks when the keyboard doesn't show up at all or the stock one pops up and I have to toggle the swiftkey.

They had her gold 6S 64GB in stock. So the Mrs got her new phone Sunday. I had to order my space grey 6S+ 64GB. He told me it would be 4 weeks but that it would likely be a little sooner than that. 24 hours later it had shipped.

Yeah Space Grey is probably the easiest to get. No Apple stores over the weekend had ANY Pluses for reservations and we have 3 in Miami.

I don't really care about the color because I'll be putting a case on it. But I def wanted to go back to having a black bezel...

Good luck. I was very surprised it shipped so fast.

Yea I only like black bezels.

Super annoying all the other colors come with a white bezel.

I'd love me a rose gold 6S Plus with black bezel.

I wonder if you replace the screen if you could ask for a black bezel instead.

Son of a. I swear my sister's case held up great, mine is already discoloring at the corners

The phone hasn't been dropped. It usually goes straight from my hand to my pocket or vice versa. ugh. The fitment is perfect though, and it feels great in hand. Magpul's case is too bulky...

Apparently depending on the chip your iPhone uses, it could potentially have a 2hr difference in battery life. Waiting on more reports first and a larger sample size...

Does your iPhone have a good or bad A9 CPU?

So my gf was able to reserve her iPhone and pick it up last night. Since she had ordered throught ATT she didn't have her upgrade price available. She tried to cancel first through her old iPhone via email and Safari while at the store. That really didn't process it so then we tried it on a Macbook at the Apple Store. That worked but still took like 30 mins to process even after she spoke to a rep and he showed it was canceled. Another customer had the same issue but his already went into shipping though it was estimated for first week of November Luckily the Genius we had was super friendly and super chill and she stayed with us for like a whole hour to do setup and everything. As an Android owner for the last few years one thing that I always MISS is the Apple Store customer service. Anyone know the best way to accommodate the Genius with her superiors?

Nope, I have the stock keyboard. It just shows up completely blank, but if I start typing it works I just can't see anything.

I also have a problem where sometimes ApplePay shows up where I am in my apartment, or at work. That one is rare, but it's happened a couple times.

That's ridiculous. Fragmentation being one thing but how is the smaller process processor not more power efficient? Lol

Samsung throwing Apple a fuck you?
