Seems like all the iPhone guys wanted to do photo contest challenges, though there were many to choose from.

So I think my iPhone just died.......
I didn't do anything, it's been sitting on my desk, never dropped it. It wasn't low on battery.
Now it's just off and won't turn on. dead. I plugged it into the charger for a few minutes in case the battery died and I didn't know it. I notice that the back is a little warm after charging for a few minutes, not hot but luke warm.
It was working this after noon, I was talking to my boss on it. Other than that it's been sitting on my desk ever since.

I'll plug it into my MBP and see what happens....

Damn it this thing is dead. It's been plugged in long enough that if the battery was dead it would've charged up enough that if I hit the power button the screen would at least turn on and give me the icon telling me that it needs to be charged.

man I do NOT want to buy a new phone right now. Nothing I really want and I don't want to extend my contract again. Nor do I want to pay out the ass for a phone out of contract.
I wonder if I can fix this fucker......
at least I have the iPhone 4 without the pentalobe screws, so I can take it apart

The back side underneath the camera is staying warm which is where the logic board is. Makes me think it's running but the screen died but I don't get.........
OMG I can PING IT!!!!! I went into my router check it's IP table and it gave me it's IP address and when I pinged it it responded!
Maybe my screen died!?

Hmmm, it's working really slow in iTunes, took a while to show up. Then bar on the bottom in iTunes was all yellow, now it's filled in correctly and I told it to sync but it's sitting at "step 1 of 8 Waiting for Sync to start"

"The iPhone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start"

It's backing up! Really slowly but the bar is moving now!

It's pretty warm right now too, warmer than it was before. I wonder if something on the logic board went bad or if the screen dying caused the CPU to spike making everything run slow and making the phone warmer...

It took a while but it showed up in the "Find my iPhone" app too, doesn't seem like it's getting a GPS lock though.
I called it and it didn't ring, and sent it a sound using that FMI app and nothing happened then either. Doesn't seem like GPS or Cell signal are working but wifi is, so probably a logic board problem....

I wiped the phone and went back to 5.0.1 and did the untethered JB and so far so good. I was using the hybrid jb of running 5.0.1 but using Redsn0w designed for 5.0 to jb 5.0.1 instead of the redsn0w designed for 5.0.1. if that's what caused it but no more hybrid JB for me.

The iphone is consistently the #1 selling phone on every network it's available. Let's see if all the people that bought android over the past 2 years stick with them when their contracts are up.
Original Motorola Droid users contracts came up a few months ago, do you think they stuck with android or did the switch to the iPhone 4s?
Side note: Nice to see the ole HTC Radar taking up the number #3 slot on t-mobile, prolly the best valued phone on tmobile right now

I haven't excluded the option of an iPhone in the future.... if only they'd actually have more to choose from than the latest iPhone and its predecessors. They need to offer a variant with a larger screen and more tech, something like the iPod nano vs. the iPod touch.... all I want are choices. As long as the iPhone is limited to a sub-3" screen, I'll never go back.
Despite all the battery management apps I used over the years, habits I started taking up (taking off the case while charging, not using it while charging - so as to not build up heat) the battery life sharply takes a nose dive after a year or a year and a half. And issues start arising... happened to three of my iPhones, the iPod I owned, a few people I know with 4s are starting to get them too. I'm not talking about random glitches or crashes, I'm talking about them complaining about things and complaining about the same thing next week I see them.
Sales are a healthy indicator of success for companies but they don't really mean squat to us consumers, unless you're a shareholder. It indicates a universally attractive product and a successful marketing campaign. and with iPhone there's one main option while with Android at any given time there's several to choose from.

Where do you guys put your iPhones when you're driving? I need some good mounting ideas. Doesn't need to be a charging mount, just a mount.

I leave in my pocket, using BT to talk. If not just sits next to me on console.
