No problem with my battery life on the 4S.

Any recommendations for a good app to store log-in passwords, etc? I was running SplashID on my Evo, just wanted to see if there was anything better for the 4S.

Yea, it's called your brain.

Seriously though, I've thought about getting an app like this, but I was always worried about security and how this information would be kept in sync between my iPad and my desktop/laptop because I may not have my phone right next to me when I need this information.

I suggest using your memory. What if you need those passwords on another device or your computer? I have found that it's very hard to remember phones now that they are programmed into my phone. Numbers I use to know front and back, I can barely remember area codes for now.

Easier said than done. Because of HIPAA and patient privacy I have a half dozen log in codes for my EMR in my practice, when I see inpatients, when I teach at the VA. Many of these codes are changed every month. You can't expect me to possibly remember 3 different log-ins for one particular system when I might see an inpatient every 2 months or go to the VA once a month.

You've got to be kidding me if you think you can memorize a 12 digit/letter/symbol password for electronic payroll input. What about the separate 3 codes required to access the electronic scheduler?

This isn't just memorizing my pin code for the ATM boys, much, much, much more complicated than that.

I was just joking about the brain part. I know it can be hard remembering logins. I've got so many different logins now that I can't keep them straight myself. I've used the "forgot my password" feature more in the past year than I had in the previous 10 only because I have so many more accounts I need to access which is why I've been thinking about getting some type of logging app.

One thing that can simplify all of this is if companies standardized their password creation rules.

For sure. My problem is some log-ins change every month, some every 2 months, some never. So I can't keep the uniform password for all log-ins. Furthermore, some require 7 letters, some letters and a number, others letters, numbers and symbols, even others capitalized letter, numbers, symbols etc. LOL my brain already hurts just thinking about it. Then when I try and simplify things and go back to an old password, the computer scolds me and says the password was already used.

Do you really want to upgrade that amount of data over 3G?

Much more than the norm, but if you are the one having to make up new passwords, doing it based on subject, where, when could help.

I following a system based on only changing the first four or five, or last four or five digits, then do so accordingly with alphanumeric following.

It's a complete PITA. Especially when you can't use old passwords, in some cases, in the previous 6 YEARS.

3g can be pretty fast around here, I can get 500kb+ download speeds, which is plenty fine for a 30mb download.

I not saying use old passwords, if one uses ...

az4rmbl2tech, next change goes az5rmbl3tech. But I understand trying to have to remember too many.

I can see people blowing their whole monthly allotment to d/l iOS updates, but give them the option, sure. Then I can see many bitching because they couldn't get a clean d/l, because of poor cell service and such.

Ahh, but see they don't allow that in a lot of cases. So many digits have to be so much different than previous ones. It might be on the order of 50% of the digits must differ by at least 5 values of the digit.

So az4rmbl2tech would have to be something like fg9adz8atwb, or so.

HIPAA ain't nothing to fuck with.

My battery life is worse with 5.0.1. I went to the gym at 6:30pm, battery life was at 40%, left the gym at 7:45 pm, battery life was at 13%

Only have wifi and bluetooth on (like my old iPhone 4).

The 5.0 jailbreak works on 5.0.1. Use app sync and jail break again. Restore apps.

I don't have a problem with my battery whatsoever. Here's what I'm sitting at since my last full charge:

Usage: 2 hours, 22 minutes
Standby: 13 hours, 52 minutes

Current battery charge: 57%

Location services and wi-fi is turned on. Bluetooth is turned off.

Still running on iOS5, haven't updated to 5.0.1 yet.

so basically, some 4S's are fine, some are not. if you are having the battery problem with your 4S, take it in to the store and have it replaced.

I feel your pain.

The most I can hope for is 90 days of life for a password, and that's only on the low security ones! Every department, every system, every administrator seems to feel that there needs to be a unique solution to a security problem.

Everybody I know violates protocol rather blatantly, and everybody keeps a document on a remote site as an aid. Since just about everybody has to do this, the security procedures aren't doing anything close to what was intended.

Getting everybody off of Windows helped in a very basic way, but SELinux and OSX are hardly perfect, and the day that somebody cracks an important person's remote document the world will start turning the other direction.

It's really scary the security that people require without considering that what they're asking is basically impossible, and it's really scary how blatantly everybody finds a way to cheat the system.

Maybe one day we'll be able to afford to upgrade the remote terminals to the recognition of physical parameters...retina scans or facial recognition...like we do at the more expensive systems.
