seizure force field!

I just noticed this, I'm not sure if its an issue or what but thought I'd mention it...
I noticed that with Version 2.1 when Wi-Fi was on I would get the Wi-Fi indicator in place of the 3G when using Safari. Now after the 2.2 update, when I start Safari the indicator stays at 3G and my internet speeds seem to SUCK at best. I'm sitting right next to my router with Wi-Fi on and it doesn't seem to be using it...
Anyone have any ideas?

^^^ I had similar problem. I had to restore mine iphone and then start everything from scratch, ratter than using the backup that which itunes makes. I know it is pain in the ass but at the end the phone works great without any crash or any problem.

I'm very happy after the Jailbreak.
I'm able to record,
hide icons, have folders,
the number instead of the battery icon is better imo,
Pysl allows me to have a toggle for when I want to hide incoming texts while the phone is in use by others, I can even hide the SMS icon all together with SBSettings
new flashlight app that automatically goes to full brightness already came in handy twice
Still trying to figure out the "free app" thing
Lay off the pr0n sites!

$99 iPhone is for real....
AT&T on Saturday began offering refurbished iPhones for the lowest price yet seen in the United States:
$99 for a black 8GB iPhone 3G (refurbished)
$199 for a black 16 GB iPhone 3G (refurbished)
The price points are not entirely unexpected. For several weeks before Christmas, Apple (AAPL) blogs were buzzing with rumors that Wal-Mart (WMT) would be selling a new version of Apple’s iPhone at the magical $99 price.
But it was not to be. On Friday, Wal-Mart confirmed that starting Sunday, Dec. 28, it will carry the hot-selling phone at nearly 2,500 stores — but starting at $197, not $99.
AT&TS’s $99 iPhones are the same old models, slightly used.
According to the small print on att.com,
Refurbished phones are previously owned devices that have been unused or lightly used and returned during the 30-day trial period. Each refurbished phone is independently quality tested and loaded with the latest software to meet current factory standards. Some refurbished iPhone 3G devices will have minor scratches.
Refurbished iPhone 3G devices carry a warranty of 90 days or more. For details about the warranty on your refurbished iPhone 3G go to www.apple.com/support/oss/.
The catch? The heavily discounted phones come with the usual 2-year contracts, which can cost up to $2,000, depending on the plan.
The sale ends Dec. 31 or when AT&T runs out of stock, whichever comes first. Macworld Expo starts the following week, leading to speculation that AT&T may be using the occasion to clear inventory in advance of new models or new memory configurations.

plus, you're going to to want to wait about 2 years for the technology to advance enough to justify spending money on another phone. If contracts were only 6 months and I bought the newest and best phone each time, I'd be poor and the difference in technology from phone to phone wouldn't be worth it.

That was uncalled for...
I love this phone and everything it has to offer, but what the hell is up with backing it up when you sync it?
This sync so far has taken an hour to backup and it's not even half way done. The last time I backed everything up was October and I did install quite a few applications, so I'll give it a break there.
Luckily I don't have plans until 6:00 tonight

So I guess I'm the only one who's safari still crashes often but then again maybe I'm the only one that uses it a lot. Anyways, I think I've found a remedy for safari crashes. This is what I did today while following the MacWorld keynote at work: when safari finishes loading a page, hit the home button and go back to the main screen then open safari again and continue browsing like normal. I've found that if I do that before I view a page with a lot of pics on it then it doesn't crash on me but if I don't then it crashes within less than a minute. today I started reading the Engadget liveblog at about 1pm est which means they'd been blogging for over an hour so there was already alot of pics and reading to catch up on but when I did that little trick it never crashed even though there were a buttload of pics.
So try it out and let me know if this helps.
Again the steps
load page
exit safari
reopen safari
browse.
Simple

safari only crashes once in a blue moon, when on edge, when trying to download a content heavy page.
Your phone just knows you suck, thats all.

jailbreaking would not affect the battery at all. The apps you use once you jailbreak are a different story.

This is a must have. I wonder what the retail price is going to be.

In other related news MS is rolling POP3 capability for all Hotmail users meaning that you'll now have native support for hotmail and live email with the iPhone.

IDK they've had pop for their paying customers for a while but I'm not paying for email. their new tech is called delta sync. I was watching some video about how it's better than POP3 but to me it seemed identical to IMAP4 feature wise so IDK why they're being dicks and using some proprietary shit instead of IMAP4. The rest of the company is becoming more compliant with other standards than their own like IE 8 is supposed to finally be web standards compliant, Office 2007 sp2 will add ODT and ooxml support and better support for PDFs even Word pad in Win 7 have ODT and ooxml support. So maybe the hotmail team didn't get the memo. I'll pass it on them
