The line was STILL out door of the mall and down the sidewalk! I wasn't having that either. So I drove home and stopped by the best buy by my house that I bought my iPad at last year. Walked in and they had plenty in stock. They didn't have any of the new ones on display. I asked to see a white one IRL before making a decision, they said they couldn't do that. So I bought a black one instead. I didn't get a smart cover either because I didn't like the colors they had left.

So local Best Buy FTW again!

I stopped by our Best Buy tonight around 6 and they actually still had some in stock. I didn't buy one, but they had a black and white one on display, so I played around for a bit. I thought I'd love the white one, but it doesn't do anything for me in person. Just looks awkward with the bezel being the only thing thats white. So I'll likely be buying a black one. Man it feels easier to hold than the first gen iPad...no doubt about it.

What capacity did you get? 3G? I'm debating between 32 or 64GB w/ wifi.

I got 32Gb Wifi like the last model I had.

review

It's thinner and lighter, feels much better to hold. I can't say much yet for speed. I haven't really noticed a difference but then I haven't used my previous iPad in over a week. I'm sure it's faster like the reviews said but the OG iPad was no slouch to begin with.

I wonder if iOS 4.3 is multithreaded. Since all previous iOS was designed with single core in mind, I wonder if they've optimized iOS to run on dual core?

That'll be probably be iOS5

I stood in line for about 2 hours last night and got the iPad. I wanted the 32gb black but they sold out about 50 people ahead of me so I ended up with a 16gb which is fine.

I'm having a problem with Itunes not recognizing the iPad. I can't sync it. Computer and itunes won't see it. I just downloaded the latest version.

Anyone know what the problem is?

This was my big complaint with the OG iPad. It was even worse with iOS 3.2

I just joined the iPod ranks...

BUT I got the iPad 1, not 2. My cousin ended up giving me his 1st Gen iPad for free so he can go and get the 2nd Gen model. It's a 64GB Wifi + 3G model. As much as I'd love the newer one, hey, I can't complain!

Now I just have to figure out how to use it, and what the best apps I need to have...

So when I was a kid and had to put a book "cover" on the school's textbooks to protect them, I only had to cover the front of the textbook?

Apple sold close to 1 million iPad 2s in weekend: analysts

Analysts expect Apple Inc to have sold close to a million iPad 2 tablet computers on its debut weekend -- significantly more than the first iPad, which went on sale last April.

"We would not be surprised to see Apple sell closer to 1 million iPad2s in the opening weekend," said Wedbush Securities analyst Scott Sutherland.

Best Buy on Friday said some of its outlets ran out of the tablet and its accessories within 10 minutes.

Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry estimates Apple may have sold three times more iPad 2 in the first two days compared to the previous version.

Most analysts had projected sales of 350,000 to 400,000 iPads in its debut weekend.

You're really that surprised?

They're the ultimate marketing machine. My guess is they could have sold more, but are constrained by the supply chain, not the consumer's wallet.
