Apple: iPad News and Discussion Thread
iOS 7 seemed to fix my wifi issues. So far so good
Just don't like that every time I open safari after exiting for a period of time that my tabs all have to be refreshed.

So the next gen iPad and mini will at least come in two of the new iPhone colors. With the gold being a question mark.
Space grey here I come! I'm excited for the new iPad.

Retina iPad mini seemingly pictured in gold with Touch ID fingerprint scanner

Apple’s second-generation iPad mini tablet is expected to be unveiled next month and according to a pair of leaked photos, the tablet will seemingly be made available in the same gold and white color combination as Apple’s new flagship iPhone 5s. Chinese-language ZOL, which is owned by CBS Interactive, on Friday published a pair of images it claims reveal the new Retina iPad mini in gold. The photos were first published by a user on the site’s forum, and they also seemingly confirm that the new iPad mini will include Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint scanner, also like the iPhone 5s. Earlier reports suggested Apple’s next-generation iPad and iPad mini would not include Touch ID and these photos certainly could be fake, but Apple undoubtedly plans to bring the technology to its tablet lineup at some point. Apple’s Retina iPad mini is expected to be unveiled alongside a new completely redesigned fifth-generation iPad early next month and both tablets are expected to be released soon after. We have also seen the tablet pictured in Apple’s new space gray color, so it looks like the new mini may indeed feature more changes than just an upgraded display. Images of the purported gold Retina iPad mini follows below.
Apple Will Hold Fall iPad Event on October 22

Apple has a couple more new products to announce before the year is out, and it plans to unveil them in a few weeks time.
People familiar with Apple’s plans tell AllThingsD that the company will hold its next invitation-only event on Tuesday October 22. The focal point of the gathering will be the latest updates to the company’s iPad line, but the new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks will likely get some stage time as well, I’m told.
The fifth generation iPad is expected to feature a thinner, lighter design akin to the iPad mini’s and an improved camera. It will run Apple’s new 64-bit A7 chip. The second-generation iPad mini will be upgraded with a retina display and also see the A7 incorporated into its innards. It’s not clear whether Apple’s new iPads will feature the Touch ID fingerprint sensor that recently debuted on the iPhone 5s, though that has been rumored.
Sources declined to specify where the event is to be held, and I’ve not been able to confirm a location. My understanding is that it will not be held at the California Theatre in San Jose, the site of the iPad mini’s unveiling in 2012. That leaves Apple’s Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco as the two most likely locations.
Reached for comment, Apple declined to give one.

Apple sends invites for October 22nd event: 'we still have a lot to cover'
http://www.theverge.com/2013/10/15/4...tober-22-ipads
This time it won't be about phones, but Apple has more to talk about this fall — the company's just sent out invites to an event on October 22nd in San Francisco. It's likely that this is where it will announce new iPads, along with the final features and availability of OS X 10.9 Mavericks, new MacBook Pros, and maybe even the wild new Mac Pro we first saw at WWDC in June. We may also hear about Apple TV, and rumors continue to fly that Apple's working on a smartwatch. Whatever there is to see, The Verge will be there live with up-to-the-second updates on anything and everything the company might show.
IPADS, MACBOOKS, MAVERICKS, TV — AND MAYBE A WATCH?
The primary focus is expected to be on the iPad, with both of Apple's tablets undergoing a refresh. Rumors and leaks point to the two models taking cues from one another: photos show a slimmer, narrower 9.7-inch iPad that looks more like last year's iPad mini, and a 7.8-inch mini with a Retina display that will look as good as its larger sibling. Apple's Touch ID fingerprint sensor is a likely new addition to the lineup, as is Apple's new A7 processor. Less certain is whether or not the iPad will follow in the iPhone 5c's colorful footsteps, or if Apple might be working on a new screen size entirely.
Regardless of what Apple decides to unveil, The Verge will be there live — so tune in on the 22nd so you can follow our live blog for every piece of news as it happens.

Yea going with 64gb LTE next time. 32gb too small.
I use LTE, specially when I travel/away from home.
Still lots of places w/o free wifi.
I noticed for AT&T they have. 250MB plan for $5/day non renewing.

I have 6GB w tethering on my phone so no need for LTE Ipad for me. I never really noticed it until my recent trip to Europe but your right it's shocking how many places don't have wifi available. Starbucks became a bastion of decent toilets and wifi for me lol.
Still happy with my ipad3...64gb was actually too much for me...probably could have survived with 16...only needed the LTE a hand full of times...could probably skip that, too.
Check that...I only have 17GB left...need to see what is taking that up...probably some photos I dropped over for editing.

Going 32GB - I have the 16GB now and its full, 32 seems right for me, thats whats on my iphone. I keep music on my phone and use Match on the Ipad, I use my Xperia for movies anyways. I have an unlocked Iphone, so I can tether with that, so just wifi. someone is buying my 16GB for £200, so its £340 for the current 32GB mini, if it stays the same its £140 out of pocket. Not too bad.
