^ same thing happens to me too. It doesn't matter what music app (soundcloud, spotify, google music) I am using when I shut off the car....the google music app always starts when I get back in the car.
I always assumed it was because that was only music I actually had downloaded on my device.
It's most annoying when the google music app starts and the dashboard display shows that song title even after you switch to another music app.

It's still doing it. I can't really figure out why. Was listening to Spotify on the way home, stopped at the store. When I got back in, it automatically started playing from the Music app. I just disabled the music app, so hopefully that should fix the problem. I don't ever put music on my phone, so no need for it, really. That and i'm tired of yelling at the damn thing.
I just wish I could figure out what is causing it. It is just too inconsistent to try and troubleshoot. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. More often than not though, it doesn't work. I thought that it was when I would use it on my computer between, but that doesn't seem to be the case as I wasn't on my computer while I was driving. Computer was shut down in my bag in the back seat.
The weird part is that if I open up the running apps and close it, the music app doesn't stop and the only way to access it again is through the notification drawer. The phone will get real laggy too. Spotify will hang when i'm trying to open it again.

I know many don't like Samsung but after an extensive survey, it appears the masses prefer them to Apple in terms of satisfaction. I'd like to think with how great my Note 4 has been that could have helped. The S5 although not loved seems to be pretty solid.

Best Smartphone Company: Study finds Samsung tops Apple for No. 1 spot | BGR
Samsung had a very rough year in 2014. The company’s flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, was seen as a disappointment by most pundits and industry watchers. According to several reports, the phone also failed to meet internal sales estimates. Making matters far worse was Samsung’s performance in the most recent quarter, when immense pressure at the high and low ends of the smartphone market caused a shocking 60% drop in operating profit.
But Samsung will finish 2014 with a much-needed win. According to the results of a massive study, Samsung has passed Apple to become the most beloved cell phone maker in the United States.
DON’T MISS: Google lists 127 of the best Android apps in the world, and you need to try them all
This year’s American Consumer Satisfaction Index performed by the University of Michigan once found that Time Warner Cable and Comcast are the two most hated brands in the country. The 2014 Index covered 230 different brands and was the result of data collected in approximately 70,000 interviews with U.S. consumers.
Narrowing focus to just cell phone makers, the study showed an interesting changing of the guard in 2014 that will come as a surprise to some industry watchers.
Despite this year’s release of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which combined to make up the biggest cell phone launch in history with more than 10 million units sold through the end of their debut weekend, Apple earned a customer satisfaction score of 79 out of 100, dropping 2.5% from the 81 it scored in 2013.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s customer satisfaction score jumped to 81 in 2014, up 6.6% from 76 last year.
This could be a big win for Samsung as it moves into 2015 and looks to regain momentum. Rumors suggest that Samsung went back to the drawing board and designed the upcoming Galaxy S6 from the ground up, having included some unique new features that might help separate the company’s upcoming new flagship phone from the pack next year.
Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 is expected to be released sometime in the first half of 2015.

So I finally activated my 6 month free trial of Google Play Music All Access that I got with my N6. I am having an issue though that non of the album art is showing up on my phone at all. It does show up on my N7 though. Have only briefly done some searching yet but have not found a fix yet. Anyone here use it and have any issues?

After a little more digging I found that clearing the cache and all data from the app typically works and it did.

I don't know what's going on, but a few weeks ago, my phone started doing this...
so, IN the Chrome browser, if I go to Flickr... it'll ask this:
Screenshot_2015-01-05-10-43-03 by YVR_Shooter (aka trainerKEN), on Flickr
I refuse to use the Flickr app because it sucks, I only have it installed because of quick uploads from my phone... so, I'll choose the Chrome browser and hit "Always"... and I get this:
Screenshot_2015-01-05-10-43-48 by YVR_Shooter (aka trainerKEN), on Flickr
and I've followed the instructions, but still doesn't make any difference... I would say 50% of the time when I go to Flickr I have to go through this fucking 2 step process...
and it does this for Facebook as well... (yes, I prefer Facebook in the browser in desktop mode vs the app most of the time)

My Google Music has the same issue. The album art I don't mind so much but it does buffer sometimes and even skips a song halfway while doing this buffering. I'll clear the cache though but it only has 288kb.
I thnk I'm switching to Cricket. My friend just got a One Plus One which is really nice especially with the felt-style back part. We did a speed data test and with my ATT I was getting 4.86down/6.22up. I'm sure they throttle me as I'm still on unlimited data. Well he got an 8 down and pays $55 while I pay $100+ which will go up since my partner on the family plan switched to TMo. There are no individual plans anymore and 6GB of data is like $70 plus $40 after I upgrade plus my other addons and taxes up the ass. I'm just on the hook for a new phone if mine breaks.

Oliver!!!
I just changed around my plan with AT&T and gave up my unlimited data. I have my Dad's phone, mine, and a tablet on my plans and was previously paying for separate data plans on all 3. By going to a 30GB share plan I'm saving $45 a month (I think it'll actually be around $43, but they saw my taxes will go down too). Realistically, I'm getting more data than I was before. Dad had 3GB, the tablet had 3GB and on the unlimited it was hard to get much past 6 by time they throttled me. I'm not going to do my upgrades through them anymore though.
<rant> The current practice of them charging an extra $25 a month and keeping you to a contract for doing an upgrade is total bullshit. The money they make off of you for the service they provide during the 2 year contract period is more than enough to offset the subsidy they give you on the phone purchase price. And if you calculate the monthly fee out across the length of that contract they're making an extra $600 off of you! In many cases, that plus the upfront cost of the phone is more than the full retail price! Why would I want to purchase it through them then? And the Next thing or whatever your carrier calls it is bullshit too! But at least they only end up charging you the retail price of the phone at the time. In essence, all the carriers may as well be prepaid. Without the carrier subsidies, where's the incentive to go with them?</rant>

Yeah I kind of trained myself to avoid the 5GB throttle so I might switch to a mobile share plan prior to my contract ending in March. Man they really hate 1 liners.

That's why Moto comes out with the X or One Plus One with affordable phones.

i was going to switch to cricket but T-mobile gave me a good deal plus a military discount. Plus i get these types of speeds for unlimited plan.

DAMMMMMMMMMMMNNNNNN
That's nuts. I don't think I've surpassed 8mb download. What's funny is that my upload is always higher on speedtest. I'm so fucking sure these dickheads throttle me.

Is this in Miami or LA? I remember you were like in both. And what phone has a dual DL speedbooster? What is a DL speedbooster and why have I never heard of this?

Not in a rush but I just realized I am eligible to upgrade finally...if time allows, I'll probably go pick up the Sammy Galaxy S5 Active?
Or should I just get the regular Sammy S5?

Shocker A speedtest today after the update now has my speed 10.93/14.55 vs yesterday's 4.86/6.22. Same location too. I don't think I ever hit 10 on my Note 2 either.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Is the S6 incoming soon? I would not mind a new phone since the S3 does have the occasional hiccup...it's bearable but I would not mind a new device.

Thanks guys...if it is April, I suppose I could wait. I'll see. I don't think there's much of an upgrade fee if any to go to the S5 Active.

Regular S5 is water resistant IIRC IP67
The S5 active is thicker because of impact resistance.

Yea the S5 active is Mil-spec 810G (impact resistance) and IP67 (water resistance)
And has physical buttons for use with gloves.
The base S5 is just IP67
