CM 10.1 uses cLock which was called Chronus before. DashClock is made by Roman Nurik who works for Google/Android:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ashclock&hl=en

It allows apps to tap into the lockscreen so they can send notificaitons, launch other apps, show information, etc. all unified into the lockscreen.

Looks like at Google I/O, we'll see Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

I hope they made a better way to scroll through widgets and fix (reverse) that dang wifi and bluetooth toggle!

^I guess that's what its looking like right now. I hope they still introduce new things any way kinda like how they introduced the lockscreen widgets and multi-users in the 4.1 --> 4.2 update. A UI overhaul isn't necessarily needed yet especially since most apps are just finally getting HOLO designs. Also it would give more time for companies to optimize Android the same way Gingerbread was optimized.

Today's CyanogenMod Nightlies included Voice Activated camera shots. The keywords to take a picture are "Cheese, Whisky or Cid." The only issue with their implementation is that the setting doesn't stick after you take a picture. You have to keep activating the Voice action each time you want to take a picture. Also, you have to be using the non-Picasa enabled Camera which also doesn't include PhotoSpheres for it to work.

but i want key lime pie

5.0 doesn't necessarily mean a whole UI overhall. It just means they are adding something very significant or some drastic change somewhere I guess.

I hope they aren't being slowing down
I guess it gets harder at this point to think of new features. They still have a lot of improvements in smoothness they need to make.

I pull this group into the debate. Forget the "why," but is it technically possible to install Jellybean as the OS on an iPhone and is it possible to install iOS on a non-iPhone? Even as a shell running over the native OS.

I just know of launchers to "look" like other OS... (thus making your Android look like an iPhone and vice versa)

Yes as the only OS, but most likely extremely difficult as a shell running over the other OS.

The main problem with that would be drivers getting to work with the OS right??

I'm guessing it has to do with whatever the reason is that for example CM10.1 doesn't run wwell on the SG3

So, photosphere in crowded areas = terrible. When there are hundreds of moving people around you, the photosphere looks more like a stop motion circle lol.

Also, I found out that the majority of the time, the best pictures I've taken on my N4 are done with HDR mode and edited with the Punch filter. Took a bunch of similar shots of both HDR and the Auto mode and definitely HDR wins unless there is a megaton of light, but comes out muted hence editing with the filter.

Well I was in Vegas this weekend, brought the HTC One with me. Battery life wasn't bad at all, it lasted all day. Power saving mode only kicked in once and I didnt have a chance to charge my phone until nearly midnight.

The camera works GREAT.. I got a spectacular video of the Bellagio fountains at 9pm. Even the audio is quite good!

If you go the opposite direction of people walking, but in a huge crowd, the best solution is the "eraser" methods that some OEMs are building into their cameras now.

Yes it is possible. When it comes to software almost anything is possible.

No, it is NOT practical. No one would have the time to do it. Remember that it takes a team of talented people to just get a bare bone OS going. It's easier to get an Android OS onto an iPhone because the Android OS is open source. Forget about trying to get iOS on a non-iPhone. The work needed to patch this and that would be tremendous since the developer does not know the inter-workings of the OS.

It is the reason why T-Mobile, Verizon, ATT phones don't release the latest Android OS on their phone at the same time as Google because THEY need to program the OS to THEIR phone. That takes time and some carriers don't even want to bother with it if their phone is not in demand.

Look at all the efforts to put WebOS, specifically the Open WebOS project onto an open-source phone. Everything being open source, all issues being known ahead of time and yet it still takes months for smart and dedicated volunteers to do so. And frankly, it is more of a curiosity than a functioning device.

Yup, it's that mic chip that is the cause for the lawsuit by Nokia against HTC haha.

Thanks for the input on the HTC One. I saw someone showing off the phone to someone else at the restaurant yesterday and the guy couldn't put the phone down. He was watching videos on it and I never wanted a phone so bad. Lol. I'm almost 90% sure I'll be picking up the One shortly after I/O. Few more weeks. I hope the mics don't change over by then and I hope AT&T doesn't lock the bootloaders by then considering the Black version is only starting to appear and also the S4 should take some potential buyers away from the phone.

Its doable either way but the problem like everyone said would be the drivers and the fact that iOS is not open source and would bring Apple's lawyers knocking on whoever's doors on whoever attempted to do it. You would have half working things on both platforms that it just wouldn't make sense to run it at all except to show everyone that it can be done. The iPhone has been hacked to run Gingerbread if jailbroken.

No one has ported iOS to Android mainly because Apple will sue the daylights out of them. Someone was actually going to create a cross platform app that would allow iOS apps to be run on Android without doing any conversion but they simply didn't go through with it because their lawyers told them Apple would sue them if they did:

Firstly I would like to say that I have been overwhelmed with the amount of support that I received for iEmu. I deeply appreciate all the support emails and pledges. After spending time discussing iEmu with various legal experts in the industry. I came to the conclusion that accepting funding for it would only make me more of a target for certain companies. I currently am not in a position to fight anything and have decided to take a different approach. This is by no means the end of iEmu! Stay tuned….

I have no idea. My guess is that HTC is already shopping for a new chip producer for future batches. The main problem now is that the chips are exactly the same except for 1 number lol More the producer's fault really. If they had disguised it up a lot more, it wouldn't have been found (so easily).
If you are worried about getting a HTC One now, don't worry. The lawsuit does not impact Ones already out there and those in stores being sold. The new chip won't likely be seen in the new batch of phones for at least 6 months.

I saw a guy holding a One at a theme park the other day. His wife had a iPhone 3GS. The One does look great, but still looks oddly shaped.... bit too tall. I noticed a TON of Note IIs out there and S3 and S4, equal to the amount of iphones. A few Optimus Gs. Then, there was one girl with a Lumia 920. I had to do a double take

I haven't been somewhere with so many people recently but I almost always see just iPhones and older Androids. Rarely do I see GS3's and never see other Note 2's.

I have been debating between the HTC One and the S4. I think I'm going to go with the S4 just because the design of it I like a little more. Though I do wish it looked a little more different than the S3.

Ken that video you took looks amazing. The One's camera is great at night from what I read.

^ When I eat out with my group of friends, the majority of them have GS3's.

One time there were like 5 GS3's, 1 GS2, and 1 iPhone. It was funny seeing my friend with the iPhone texting and holding his phone in such a small manner due to the iPhone small form factor. It just looked so awkward since everyone else had a much bigger screen.

speed, what are you going to do with that cursed S3?

I think Otterboxes are created for you lol with all that cracking. Speaking of which, I saw A RIDICULOUS amount of Otterbox cases on people using iPhones. Really proves the point that the only people that care about a phone's design are the analysts and bloggers. 90% of people just gets a case anyways.

This has been boggling my mind back then. People care so much about the original design and yet they end up covering it all up anyways. The pressure really is on the case manufacturer to design a good looking case.

I just have it sitting for now. I'm going to attempt to fix it after thursday, when I'm done with the semester. I think I should be able to Odin it.

no i'm not getting an otterbox. I'll probably get a case on my next phone though. I barely dropped this GS3 and it cracked so easily. The design is definitely not good at all, its 100x more fragile than my NS. I'll show a pic of where it fell later

Here's the pic

Knocked it off my desk and i tried to grab it but instead i made it change direction where it just nicked the bar you see going across.

Also I dont really drop phones. If its in my hand it stays there. I cracked my NS by knocking it off the couch and onto the tiles. That was a higher fall, and it also did a lot less damage.
