I'm not saying we're a great team, but Dallas did not play well yesterday either. They only had one good drive all game. You're just a bitter after a Packer loss.

The TD called back from Austin, the celebration penalty, the PI and the end to keep the Vikings drive alive. All calls that only the Dikes get in Minnesota.

Dallas played much better than the Vikes...just got screwed by shitty calls. AP - 73 yds, Favre 118 yds....not good numbers. More and more games are being decided by poor officiating and it is rather sickening.

I already knew the Packers would lose this game. We won't win unless we get a running game and a pass rush. Not hard to stop a team that passes 97% of the game.

So, you're saying those were all clean plays?
1 - He pushed off 12 yards from scrimmage - weak, perhaps, but still illegal and had a dramatic effect on the outcome of the play. As an official, you can't not call that.
2 - Celebration Penalty - They know the rules and they clearly violated them, again. They are obviously under a microscope after last week, why even take a chance? That's stupidity, not a poor call.
3 - Pass Interference - can't touch the receiver before the ball gets to him. pretty cut and dry to me. A 15" vertical would have caught that ball - are you telling me Harvin can't jump that high and it was un-catchable?

More and more games are being decided by poor officiating and it is rather sickening.
This game was not decided by poor officiating. Stupid mistakes - sure, but not poor officiating and to think otherwise would be to let Dallas off the hook their mistakes.

Bake a cake, the Vikings and their 3rd sting D-backs will be coming to your pass-happy house next weekend!

I'm not saying the 'Girls didn't make mistakes, because they did....the Romo INTs, the pass play on 4 and 1 when they were 6 for 6 converting with a run, etc. The calls I mentioned were all game changing calls. The Austin TD was a flop by a burned db...hardly a push off. If they are going to call a leapfrog over a player an excessive celebration, then they need to call every chest bump with another player. The PI call, both players were holding each other, and yes....that ball was too high for even Moss to catch.

Sounds like a battle of the shitty Ds. Here's hoping Favre gets sacked 6 times.

I disagree with all three of those takes, but anyway...

I'm assuming your D will amass at least 4 sacks. And even though neither team is playing particularly well, we should see some scoring in an entertaining game. I predict a Vikes win!

That was a hell of a hit, but people were whining too much about it yesterday, they are still today saying it was a helmet to helmet hit, and it wasn't. Robinson hit him to the shoulder.

Lots of nasty hits yesterday. The only one I saw that I thought was truly blatant was the guy for I think the Patriots, jumping up and headbutting the guy.

The others all seemed like freak plays that just happen...I don't know why the NFL thinks there's a magic rule out there to stop it that won't severely pussify the game.

Heap got hit and eventually returned. Cribbs was out for the game. Shaun Hill fractured his arm and Zach Follett had to go to the hospital (got hurt on the same field near where that kid from Rutgers got paralyzed on Saturday).

I know there were others but can't remember 'em all.

The Redskins have knocked about three players out of the game in each of their games. They have knocked out at least one player in their last four games.

Finally!

missed all the games yesterday because I wasn't home, but I was sure to record the 49ers/Raiders game.

When I got back, started watching the game from the beginning skipping through commercials and time between plays. I didn't even watch the Colts/Redskins game because I didn't want the announcers ruining the outcome of this game.

First half and some of it second seemed like the niners were on their way towards 0 - 6. But FINALLY Smith finds Crabtree in the end zone. After this and a long run by Gore I was pretty confident we had this game, the Davis touch down sealed it and this is after a penalty negated the TD on the previous play. So good composure by Smith right there.

Good win by the Niners, but penalties are still killing us. Had it not been the Raiders, I doubt this would be a win. Smith finally has a good but not great game. But other than a few WTF? throws he didn't make any costly mistakes. A lot of area for improvement, but at least we got a win...FINALLY

Now we should beat Carolina as well.

Alex Smith doesn't really show up until towards the end of each half our o-line is still playing quite badly though. I was fuming after the intentional grounding call against the Raiders. Soooo stupid... but the drive ended in a TD nonetheless

The Cowboys penalties were all deserved. Jenkins is an idiot.... blatantly grabbing onto jersey while the ball is in the air will get him a PI 99% of the time. And he says "he isn't gonna change". I think the celebration rule is stupid, but the refs made the right call.

Agree. Best you could say is that he grazed the facemask.

Great week, 11-3. 56-34 on the year.

not to mention, both players were down after the hit. It was def not an intentional hit. But that being said, your not supposed to lead with your helmet when hitting someone. For both you and your opponents safety

I don't think anyone wants to lead with their helmet unless they want paralysis. It's kinda hard to lead with just your inside shoulder since your head is connected to your shoulders. I've unintentionally grazed my face against people while tackling them and had their heads bump into me, and this is without helmets.

Hopefully they play. We need all the help we can get.

I met Al Harris last year after a game. My bro and I were at the casino playing craps, and he and friend came up. He was throwing down $500 on hard way bets and winning. I could have used some of that luck. I was losing $5 on the pass line.

They're gonna end up suspending players for helmet-to-helmet hits, which means there will be people getting suspended for accidents where a helmet-to-helmet hit was virtually unavoidable.

I'm all for player safety, but this could screw some teams over towards the end of the year, where it's possible they could lose their best DB in a playoff-deciding game or other similar scenario.

Your going to see some missed tackles this Sunday, because players are going to be scarred to get suspended. The real person to blame for most of these hits though is the QB. They are the one's who can see the defender that's about to lay out their Receiver before they throw it. As a QB your not supposed to put your receiver in a position to get hit like that.

I don't know about that. Pretty hard to run a cross route or a slant without being in a position to get clobbered. That's part of the game. The QB is supposed to think twice about throwing the ball because his player might get hit? C'mon.

It's a contact sport. Players already get fined for helmet to helmet and horse collar. No need to add more nanny rules to the game.

I hope that shitbag Meriweather gets a good two game suspension, same with Harrison of Shitsburg, give that jerk off four games. These defensive players are truly just out to make a name for themselves in hopes of a bigger contract at the expense of someone elses career, what a selfish thing to do.

No suspensions yet but a lot of large fines. Meriweather $50k and I think Harrison was $75k. That's gotta hurt.

Barber is not coming to the Packers. It's just a rumor started by a Packers blog. No reason for the Packers to take over Barber's huge salary when we need more than an RB to fix then team.

Merriweather is the only one that should be fined. Harrison's hit looked clean to me.

Soon the NFL will implement a 2yd cushion for receivers to catch the ball.

This is exactly what I was talking about above. A player being punished for nothing.

The men being safeguarded didn't necessarily agree. Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards predicted players wouldn't change how they hit.

"If we get fined, we get fined," he said. "But the suspension stuff? That's taking it a little too far. I mean, it is football. We all signed up to play this game. Things happen. You can't alter the way you play the game. Sometimes that's how you get touchdowns."

This pretty much sums it up. You know what you're getting into when you step on the field

Clinton Portis:

"So, you know, if you start suspending for helmet-to-helmet hits, I think you gonna see a lot more broken tackles and less big hits in the game. I think it's going to take the excitement away from the game and hurt.
