Sorry, but Moss is the trainwreck. It was stupid of us pick him up to begin with, but after his sorry display of play and subordination yesterday, there wasn't much choice. And the loss of a third rounder is meaningless - this is our last chance at a run for several years, so they had to do something.
Unfortunately, he's been a complete non-factor since the moment he walked in the door. I haven't seen an ounce of effort out of him. He walks in the door and just thinks he's going to get every ball? F-that, we have other receivers too - Good receivers who are actually willing to attempt to get open. Happy or not, play the F-ing game. Good riddance.
The Pat's get him for a song, they don't want him bad enough to keep, so they basically give him away, and after only 4 weeks, even we don't want him - and we're desperate! What does that say about him?
The only mistake we made was trading for him in the first place. I hope this is a cautionary tale to anyone else out there who thinks picking this bum off the side of the road is a good idea.

So, pretty much a waste of a trade by the Dikes...

It was a failed stop-gap until Rice returned. At the time, I thought it was good move considering what we gave up.
I will be the first to admit I/we were wrong on that.

Why don't they give some snaps to Jackson? He showed a pretty nice touch in that TD throw and the 2-point convert...
As well, his mobility will be an asset. Seriously, Favre is deep-sixing your team's playoff chances.

Apparently on Mort's and Schefter's twitter they're saying how a lot of teams might scoop him up off the waiver wire. I'd be pissed as a Vikes fan since you blew a 3rd rounder. That's a potential starter.

As much as I hate your team, I still don't get the rationale to suit up Favre. He pretty much needs crutches to get on the field...

Jackson's TD on Sunday was a 5-yard dump pass. Meh.
Since our coach Childress is a former Eagle and the 'Skins obviously don't want McNabb anymore, I foresee him in a Viking's jersey someday soon. That's my long-shot prediction for the year.

...and I know you were joking, but the Pat's would never pick him back up. They know is mindset. He'll come in for a week and everything will be rosey until they only throw the ball to him three times the first game and he'll pout like the baby he is.
He's a "play when I want to play" bum and regardless of whether or not we have to eat his salary, I don't care, I hope NO ONE picks him up...

If the Pat's (or anyone) pick him up, they assume is contract, no?

Someone confirm this if I'm right or wrong...
But, yeah...it would be from left field if the Pats claim Moss. I can see other teams trying though. His talent is too enticing even if his personality is atrocious...If only he had the work ethic and head to go with that talent; it'd be really, Jerry Rice who?

If nobody claims him off waivers, the Vikes have to pay him the remainder of his contract. So they're hoping somebody picks him up.
Waiver claims are made in inverse order of the current standings, so Buffalo, the team with the worst record in the league, has the first shot to claim Moss. A team can claim him and pick up the final year of a contract that pays him $6.4 million a year. If no one claims him, the Vikings owe him the remaining $3.388 million of his deal and he’s available for about $450,000, with Moss picking the team he would like to join.

I was fully expecting that loss and was just happy that it wasn't an embarrassing blowout
I think Henne has what it takes...just needs more experience. Good luck to you guys
I'll take some draft picks

I'd hate to bring that cancer into a team on the way up.
I don't see why Buffalo or some other hapless team wouldn't pick him up that could use some potential big play excitement to lure some fans back.
Although Buffalo is probably still wary from their last big WR signing disaster
:squintfaw
At least the Cowboys are worse! I don't get why Jerry hasn't fired Phillips yet. All of his players have quit on him and he can't wait to get out of there to end the embarrassment.
It's funny when that happens to a snotty prick like McDaniels but not to a seemingly nice guy like Phillips. Maybe Jerry is keeping him along as the scapegoat so nobody points the fingers at him?

JaMarcus Russell works out for 'Skins
former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell worked out with the Washington Redskins on Tuesday, just three days after Donovan McNabb was benched in the closing minutes of a loss to Detroit.

Cancer is right - the stories are coming out, now that he's gone.
Between Friday and Sunday of last week, Randy Moss has:
1) Been fined for not talking to local media (a contractual obligation)
2) Unleashed a profanity laced tirade on, of all people, a caterer carving meat at a team dinner
3) Questioned/insulted the coaching staff after giving up himself in a game
4) Refused to fly home with the team on the team plane after Sunday's game
All this on top of the fact he has been nothing more than a decoy.
I would've cut his ass too.

Randy Moss' epicurean side had much to do with leaving a bad taste in Minnesota. Tinucci's Restaurant and Catering, which operates out of Newport and Woodbury and has been in business since 1958, hosted a buffet for Vikings players Friday afternoon. "We had the whole buffet set up, and we had a nice spread -- chicken, ribs, round of beef with a carving station, the whole deal," Tinucci's co-owner Gus Tinucci said [Tuesday]. "(Moss) he comes in, and I'm helping one of the guys and didn't look up, and all of a sudden I heard, 'What the (expletive) is this? I wouldn't feed this (expletive expletive) to my (expletive) dog!'" ... Tinucci said the locker room, filled with players, got quiet. "Nobody said anything except for one (player) who said, 'Shut the (expletive) up, Randy,'" he said.
This fuck has taken too many shots to the head, or else he's just always been insane. I'm thinking the latter

I have lost all respect I had for Shanahan because of the way he has handled this situation no tact whatsoever. First he gives one excuse about the 2 minute drill then he gives another excuse about McNabb's cardio endurance. Now WTF he worksouts the most out of shape biggest bust quarterback JaMarcus (no hustle) Russell. Shanahan has lost his mind and his football touch.
FWIW.

And I think he realized Belichek wouldn't put up with any b.s. so he kept quiet as long as he could. He probably saw Childress as a joke and started acting like this to either get benched so he wouldn't have to do anything or get cut.
You'd think he'd respect Fisher but we'll see. I see him as a no-nonsense coach too, so it should be interesting.

^ Good points...
Moss probably saw how Favre undermined Childress and took note.
Most commentary does say that it is Favre that runs the Dikes...not the coach.

Yep. Favre has been like that since he became the the starter for GB. Holmgren just put up with it and we were winning, so it wasn't a big issue. He became much worse in his later years which is why he an McCarthy never really got along.
And Moss was the same with Denny Green and Tice.
We'll see how Fischer handles him. It may work out well.

Kinda crazy when you think about it though. Is Randy Moss the first player in the NFL to play on 3 different teams in the regular season? Or is there some player back in the leather helmet era who none of us has ever heard of that did it first?
