^^its all good.

I don't have any predictions, this year, haven't had time to really look into it and there are too many new powers, so to speak. For all intents and purposes, Miami, Chicago, New York, and even Boston have basically revamped themselves and look different from the past couple of years in the playoffs.

Lakers are gonna do what they do...whether that's enough, I don't know. We'll see how far it takes em. But OKC added exactly what they needed, which is an interior presence. The Mavs are still deep (but still perimeter oriented). The Spurs don't rely on Timmy as much anymore, so it remains to be seen if they are the Spurs of old, or the Spurs that are just old.

No predictions from me, just along for the ride.

Fish-Kobe-Psycho-Odom-Gasol.

That's all they need to win. It was sad to see how AB went down. The way the knee just folded. No matter what the doctor's say or AB himself, he is done. Just look at it. It's not "normal" to give out like that. Too bad, because this (now) 23 year old really had great potential. We can add Oden to the list too.

I was expected the next few years to be the battle of the Big Men again - back to the Ewing days. But guess not.

^Yeah with Oden getting hurt and Timmy getting old, Howard's the only legit center that would've hung with the old centers from back in the day. Guys like Perkins and Bynum would've been eaten alive.

AB is gonna be alright. Minor bone bruise. I don't know if I'd write him off like that yet...a hobbled Bynum outlasted a plenty healthy Perkins and they got a championship with him injured. But ya, it was awkward...the guys just has long limbs and awkward angles.

That said, nothing helps the Lakers more at this point than playing a Hornets team that's missing David West. Laker Bigs will get more rest. However, I'm worried about how Fisher is going to get torn a new one by CP3....the team defense is going to have to be on point, literally.

Even though Jordan ruled the 90s, Hakeem, Ewing, Robinson, and a young Shaq were straight beasts. Very skilled centers.

Howard would have hung with them on athleticism, but they had much smoother offensive games (which I attribute to playing college ball and learning the basics). All centers from this era now would have been manhandled.

We can add names like Kwame Brown and Eddie Curry. They are Bulls that would have been monsters if they spent some time in College. Learning the basics. Center is one of the hardest position to play. Take Shaq for example. Even with College, it took a few more years to become The Beast.

Brown and Curry wasted they "youth" riding the bench and figuring out which end is up.

I'd throw Tyson Chandler in there too. We all knew of him here in the SoCal....had huge upside.

Now, while he has been a shot blocker and effective next to a good or great point guard, he never developed the offensive skills either that a true post player should have.

I recall first watching him on 60 Minutes when they did a story on him. He was 6'10 (I think) then and killing all the high schoolers on the court.

These guys grew up wanting to Be like Mike. They wanted to be guards and fly in the air. And they were able to dominate and entertain the crowds. That was easy when the average basketball player is probably ony 6 ft tall.

At the next level, when many are the same height and skill set, it comes as a shocking why they can't dominate anymore.

But, yeah no low post plays at all.

Lakers and Phil Jackson both fined $75k for statements made about "collective bargaining". Them Lakers just love throwing their money away these days.

Youth and $$$ will do that. Imagine being 18 years old, and people just bring you buckets and buckets of money. And you don't even have to do anything.

(I like to think) some of them got ruined by money.

If a coach don't play a 18, 19 or 20 year old right away, they will "become lazy."

Your right a lot of young players got spoiled by their big contracts and lack guidance by the right people.

^^ Yes all the games were competitive and could have went one way or the other. I'm watching the Spurs v Grizzlies game and the Grizzlies are giving the Spurs a run whether they can keep it up and win that remains to be seen but I heard the Grizzlies wanted the 8th seed so they could avoid the Lakers.

The Lakers were complacent and played with no determination like they thought they would just win because they showed up. Hopefully they show up for the remaining games. Gasol played like isht and Bynum and Lamar didn't do much better, they can give up 50 to CP3 but they need to shut down everyone else, rebound the ball and they will be ok.
