Carlos Boozer out with broken hand

sucks for you yummy.

http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nb...ory?id=5644724

DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Chicago Bulls forward Carlos Boozer has a broken right hand that will require surgery, and he is expected to be out eight weeks, the team announced Sunday afternoon.

Boozer suffered the injury on Saturday during the Bulls' day off. According to team sources, Boozer tripped over a bag in his house and fell.

The team says Boozer broke the fifth metacarpal bone in his hand. He was evaluated by team physician Dr. Brian Cole and hand specialist Dr. Marc Cohen of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.

The Bulls acquired the two-time All-Star veteran forward to a five-year deal worth about $75 million this summer after missing out on LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

In eight professional seasons, Boozer has missed 145 games.

Boozer spent the previous six years with Utah and averaged 19.5 points and 11.2 rebounds last season before joining the Bulls in a sign-and-trade deal with the Jazz.

Bulls forward Joakim Noah will be expected to pick up the slack during Boozer's absence, and second-year forward Taj Gibson is the most likely candidate to replace Boozer in the starting lineup.

Gibson started 70 games last season, averaging nine points and 7.5 rebounds a game.

Let's go Lakers!!! Tonight Fox re brodcasted the game Kobe scored 81 against the Raptors which came only a month after he outscored the whole Mavericks team thru 3 quarters 62-61.

The difference between the Lakers & Heat is the Lakers are reality and the Heat are Hype.

Looking forward to the Kings season. Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins should be a nice combo.

yes the lakers are still #1 in the league imo, but the heat isnt a hype. they just need to prove themselves.

Heat = Hype Heat = Hype. One of the definitions of hype is (exaggerated publicity; hoopla) this describes the Heat and everything the have done so far in the media.

There are at least 2 other better teams in the league (Lakers & Celtics) maybe more that are receiving much less attention IMO mainly because they don't need to be attention whores like the Heat.

the heat aren't the attention whores. you can blame that on lebron but not the heat. they were just the ones to come up with lebron. The heat has done nothing but soak in and let everybody talk. The only thing that was hyped was that they exaggerated about winning a bunch of championships. but you can't blame them to get their city involved. If lebron went anywhere else other than cleveland, it wouldve been the same imo.

Lakers and Celtics are better?

You really think a team when it counts will be able to stop Lebron, Wade, Bosh, and Mike Miller on the court all at once?

And dont tell me for a second the Heat don't have any depth. All of their bench used to be starters at some point in their career, they have a lot of experience and some can still play...

Yes both the Lakers and Celtics are better that is a fact and both know how to win when it counts. The Heat will win many games during the season but when the post season comes they will fall flat they definitely won't win the East.

It takes more than talent to win big you need team chemistry, team philosphy & identity, good coaching, everyone accepting and playing their roles, little or no injuries, did I say good coaching, etc. The Heat definitely have the talent no question but they have mostly all new players that will have to learn a new system and new roles, a sorry coach, and it takes time to build chemistry and team identity so the odds are against them.

Haha cant wait to laugh at you at the end of the season...you obviously don't know basketball if you think Spoelstra is a sorry coach...heat were 5th seed last season with a garbage team.

Spoelstra is no way a sorry coach. He was the one to bring back the Heat from their ridiculous losing season in 07-08 to a playoff team with the help of Pat Riley. This year philosophy is defense. Points are going to be there night in and out, but we are building a defensive team. You need to watch more espn and not FSN West all the time.

What a smart post. How is it a "fact" that they are better, I'd love to see evidence of that. Furthermore, sure the Lakers and Celtic know how to win when it counts, but how do you know the Heat don't? They are not the same team as last year, you can't say that they don't know how to win until you see for yourself this season.

When you have such offensive stars in their prime, and a whole team who can play tough D, you sure are selling the Heat short by saying they have no chance of winning this year.

I think egos will be clashing in the locker room. Especially if LeBron walks around talking about himself in the 3rd person. He's pretty damn arrogant for someone who hasn't done shit as far as championships are concerned.

I'm not a big fan of Lebron, never have been, and yes he is arrogant as a person, but as a player I think he's not very selfish at all.

Tonight is our first pre-season game. OMG if we lose that's it, we won't make the playoffs.

You guys should seriously follow Ira Winderman and Michael Wallace on Twitter to get some great insight on the team. Especially with how much interest there will be on them this year. Very good writers. Ira's an excellent writer and Wallace just got hired by ESPN from the Miami Herald.

I'm seriously considering blocking clpassenubye from seeing his posts. I've never done that before but it just seems your posts come across as obnoxious hate with "facts". I don't mind you rooting against my team but geez it's painful to read your posts sometimes. Good luck to your Lakers btw.

FYI, the Heat don't ask the reporters to come. On the first day of camp there were like 70 reporters there. Only 9 went on the last day of camp. Mind you there was tons of military security and searches since they went to the base. This camp is like 3 hours away from Miami. If you're pissed about the hype, blame ESPN and the other sports stations. Of course if you put together a team like that will there be tons of coverage. The same would've happened if the Knicks, Nets, or TWolves got these guys. Riley didn't put this team together for tickets, ratings, nor endorsements. He wants to win.

Anyway, I'm prepared for what's likely to be last place in the eastern conference.

But at least we can start the cycle again. Get a high pick, who will play here for 4 to 6 years and get the cities hopes up, and then decide he wants to go back to the US.

East coast LA Clippers are what the Raptors have become.

He's not an all star defender but he is okay. In toronto they probably didn't have the best coaching or concentration on D for him. Miami will work on his D skills.

We keep hearing about what a great coach Jay Triano is, how the US team keeps calling on him for international tournaments (he was an assistant for the US as the world's). But I've yet to see that carry over to the NBA.

I'll be honest, don't know anything about the coach, but in Toronto he had to do it all basically, when you have to concentrate on scoring big every night, you might not be as focused on D. You could be right though that his D doesn't improve and he becomes a liability. We will obviously see.

i don't think it would be as much for Wade, but maybe Bosh. Remember we had to deal with the attention whore shaq. and he's a handful. But the big 3 all took a paycut to play together and knew what they were getting into, so i think it will work out

So I read the Heat preseason opener had a playoffs feeling. $30-40 parking even for handicapped. Mind you I just went to a Megadeth concert there and parked for free since my friend's handicapped. Stadium was full and people were calling the radio show for tickets. Wade strained his hammy and might miss 2 weeks. Probably doesn't feel like playing so why press it. Bosh with 20 and Lebron with 18 50% shooting. I hope they don't play too much this preseason.

And just for the record and before it starts again (it's an annual thing): MJ > Kobe Beef.

Period.

No ifs ands or buts.

Who would've thunk Kobe being the good guy. He was always the "ball hogging, narcisstic, rapist" with the "burnout, narcisstic coach who's banging the owner's daughter". How times change.
