Can't say anything when bosh goes 1 for 18. Lebron and wade can't do everything

Good win Chicago. Eeking out a win after our 3rd best misses 17 freaking shots and our bench scores 2. Nice one. Seriously how does one get that many shots off. Already Bosh is breaking team records.

Can someone tell me when Yumchah shuts up about this win so I can come back into this thread.

Lose to Toronto one night and beat Miami the next.

And was it me or did Bosh settle for jump shots the entire night? The best way to get out of a shooting slump is driving to the basket. Something he seemed unwilling to do. He was always more effective when he went to the hoop.

Good game by Chicago but if bosh went even 3-4/18 Miami would have won. Not too sure if Chicago should be happy with that. I wouldn't ecpect Bosh to have another game like that, especially in the playoffs.

Now we're talking. I'd much rather see them pickup Powe (again) than Sheed (again).

Nice article on the Perkins trade. Really puts a finger on how I, as a Celtics fan, feel about it:

http://www.necn.com/02/25/11/The-Dea...05&feedID=6097

...

They were the Celtics starting five. Five very different guys with very different personalities, skill sets and approaches to the game, but together, they were Ubuntu.

“They were what they were because of who they all were.”

But now that’s past tense. And so is that identity. And the Celtics are left scrambling to replace what was very likely their greatest advantage over the rest of the league.

Perkins may have been far the least talented of that core, but he was the perfect fit. He understood that mentality and thrived in his role. Now the Celtics have two months to find a way to match a chemistry that was three and half years in the making.
They’re left with Shaq, who, regardless of how much he’s maybe changed, will always be bigger than the team. They’re left with the unreliable Jermaine O’Neal or the defenseless Nenad Krstic. They’re left looking for an answer.

And that’s not to say they can’t find it.

It remains to be seen how this deal will work out for the Celtics, and anyone who sits here today and pretends to know how it will is just lying. Who knows what happens if the O’Neals both get healthy. Or Troy Murphy shows up and finds some toughness. Or Jeff Green thrives in the presence of greatness. Or KG and Big Baby are able to withstand the weight of the entire front court for the extent of four playoff series.

But through all that indecision, and all the different opinions on what Danny should or shouldn't have done, there’s one thing we know for sure.

Without Kendrick Perkins, these Celtics will never be the same.

...and if Rose shot better, Chicago would've won by a bigger margin. And if Noah was more in game-shape...an even bigger margin.

We could play this if-thing both ways.

Yes, Exactly. Rose not finishing at times along with Noah not in game shape essentially cancels out this "because Bosh was 1/18" argument.

Bosh is overrated I'm not surprised he shot 1-18. I'm not saying he isn't a good player I'm saying he's not a great player.

Ouch.
Not that it's not a concern but I heard some stat of eventual champions performing badly in those types of games. Even the 06 Heat champs sucked against and the elites and got killed by the Mavs. Doesn't mean they'll automatically win either.

Not surprised? Nobody has shot that poorly since 1991. Fine you can think he's overrated but judging a guy by this obvious fluke of a game is a poor basis. On the flipside it's like thinking a scrub is great because he shot in one game 17-18 and then say he's underrated when he averaged 5 pts a game in his 5 year career.

exactly, a player isn't defined in one game. This game was obviously Bulls game to win. none of the heat showed up except really Lebron,Wade, and surprisingly Chalmers. Chalmers was doing well until he was in foul trouble. I think if Mike miller was available, Bosh wouldn't have been taking as many shots. Then again he was taken out of his game totally by just shooting jumpshots. Either way the better team last night won. Chicago is a very energetic team and what surprised me was asik

Bosh isn't a bad player, but a 1-18 performance is bad for anyone.

I think Bosh, IMO, is inconsistent in that game partly because he's used to being a primary player and isn't now, with Wade and Lebron there. Additionally, his shot chart is pretty telling. He's not playing with his back to the basket. He's shooting that 10-15 footer. For all his height and skill, he should be working to get closer to the basket. Its a weird fit, IMO.

FWIW, I'm only judging him on this one, very notable game. It would be interesting to see these 2 duke it out in the playoffs, to see what weaknesses are zeroed in on.

Thought both teams were brilliant and boneheaded in the final plays of the game....

Its not that of him being the primary player since we played 58 games already. Its because he was totally taken out of his game and settled for jumpshots with the pressure defense that Chicago had. they had to triple team the big three every time they could get and it worked.

Well, that's just it. Doing something out of his comfort zone, for whatever ever reason that is, shouldn't cause someone as good as Bosh is to shoot as bad as anyone has since 1991.

And if he's begin triple teamed, a pass or 2 might have helped break it up a bit (he had 1 assist last night). That, IMO, is the primary player in him, that he hasn't fully let go of yet. Chicago was on the second night of a back to back, too. That defense is only going to get better in the playoffs.

Eh...I wouldn't say the Bulls were triple-teaming the Big Two and a Quarter all game.

Sure, there were lots of rotations and double-team plays drawn up. But, also...keep in mind that with Noah back on the court, that guy is literally...everywhere. No wonder he was winded by the 2nd half.

Anyhow...my horsing around aside, it was a toughly fought game. I was quite surprised at Bosh's poor shooting...But, that goes along with Chicago's terrible shooting from within and outside of the 3-point arc too.

I think overall, we can attribute the poor shooting to a nicely played defensive effort.

My only wish was Chicago limiting Miami's fast-break points...which they did at the 2nd half. In the first 2 quarters, the Heat was destroying Chicago in that department. Thank goodness for the defensive adjustments...

As a clippers fan, I have a bad feeling for the clips/laker game tonight. No EJ, Baron is gone, probably no mo or moon yet. Lakers looking for revenge from the last game.

^ Chicago can't play a run and gun game.

Against the Raptors, the Bulls clearly left their defensive game back in Chicago...
