Win or lose this game, the Lakers are tired and missing bigs right now, IMO. Still could have won this game, but not having any bigs past Lamar and Pau is stretching resources. No Bynum means Pau needs to be a center all times. No backups in Ratliff or Caracter, and Ron Artest has to play power forward. So the length and depth at big that got them through the playoffs is non-existent pushes players into positions that don't usually play or some weird lineups are out there as a result.

As I said previously, I don't forsee good this december for the Lakers or even this roadie. I still think they are the best team in the league when Bynum and backups are around, but right now, there are other teams that can claim that.
^^ I agree but I'm optimistic about December overall. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Ya, don't mind me....in other years, I'd be optimistic, but I think its alright to be realistic this year. They've been through alot of ball in the past years, so my expectations about the regular season are tempered by that.

In other words, I'm a homer too, just not right now.

I had floor seats at the Pistons/Raptors game last night. Right behind the raptors team...like I could reach over and grab their gatorade, it was freaking amazing. One of the actors hooked it up and took me and couple others out to celebrate my last weekend on the show.

Awesome time.

Sitting this close in any sport is AMAZING. I haven't had the opportunity to do this for basketball, but did sit this close @ a few baseball games and definitely worth it. Any sportsfan needs to do this at least once in their lifetime.

Basketball is cool because of the size and speed you don't really get a sense of when you're watching from home.

The best seat I ever had was actually no seat....got to play against Kevin Johnson, Dan Marjerle, and Cedric Ceballos when they swung by ASU's rec center when I was in college.

Melo will most likely ended in NY Knicks.

Now East Coast is going to be more exciting to watch than West Coast.... Boston, Miami, Orlando, and Knicks.

indeed. While I like the idea of Melo's homecoming, I'm also loving the current chemistry at the Garden. The next two games (Boston - Miami) should be an indicator as to how strong our need for Carmelo is.

if college sports counts, i sat where the photographers sat during the games

almost the best seat in the house.

basketball i got to sit at the baseline.
baseball games i got to sit in the dugout a few times.

Sprained wrist...knee...everything. What is amazing was that he got right back up and kept playing.

And still contributed. What a player...

Too bad he's not an elite player.

Hey, I'm slowly starting to change my tune about Derrick. He's moved up a notch for me.

Beef, however, isn't impressed with Sirloin....

Rose is definitely having a good season. I used to be amazed at how fast Rose was with the ball until I saw John Wall. Wall is a blur with or without the ball in his hands.

In retrospect, if you buy a fast car and don't ever drive it fast, you're doing it wrong, no?

what's your definition of driving fast? going 100mph in 40mph zone? It doesn't matter if you have a super car or pos, we all got a speed ticket once... but just because he has a super car doesn't give him the right do so.

I am not saying we all should drive like a grandma... if he really wants to test out his car then take it to a track, and do whatever the fuck he wants... not in the street or freeway where they are ton of people.

Going to Knicks - Heat at MSG on Friday. Can't wait! Hopefully the Heat and the Knicks are still undefeated, and of course the Heat win.

well, knicks will lose tomorrow against boston, so they won't be undefeated anymore.

I sense that heat will win another 3 easy game before meeting mav.

Lakers agree to deal Vujacic to Nets for Joe Smith.

I was wondering when they would get rid of him

Saves the Lakers 9 mil in the process and gets a veteran big to make up for the loss of Ratliff.

Good move for Sashapova as well, IMO....can't exactly get tons of PT playing behind Kobe.

Though the odds are not in their favor, don't be so quick to writeoff the knicks.

Good Laker trade since they were hurting in size. Smith and Bynum should def help.

Anyone heard about the Nets getting Carmelo. Apparently not true

^ No, the 3-way trade just helps Jersey acquire more assets to get *in Chinese voice* ANFONNEE!

No trade imminent. And ANFONNEE! wants to go to NY anyhow.

I agree Fluke Walton's play doesn't qualify him to be in the NBA anymore. He is an absolute waste of money and a roster spot.

dang it, I don't want to like like lakers, but they are getting rid of the player i hated the most on the lakers. I don't mind luke, he's overpaid, but I think underrated, definitely not a bad player for like your 12th roster spot. I guess I hate shot jackers, and players who think they are superstars (ie. smush parker, brian cook, vujacic) which is pretty much the opposite of what luke provides. When you you have a payroll like the lakers do, what's another 5 mil? Although I guess you have to like double that salary to account for the tax they're paying on it.
