I don't know if I would call it an off night. He still had 11 pts. and 9 assists. Durant didn't really show up in the second half.

when would you consider off night then? guy that scores 25+ pts with 8+ ast per game, but only scored 11pt... I call that off night. I didn't watch the whole game, but just by looking at the stats... I can easily say that he was off.

I don't think he is going to be scoring 25+ pts per game now that Boozer is back. I think Rose will really score only if he needs too.

I have to agree and disagree with you. Yes, his number will most like decrease, but still think that Rose's number will stay some what similar. Boozer is a 20-10 guy, not a 40-10 guy... he can't do it alone.

I think you are getting confused with Rose and Wade here.... Chicago is a decent team, but not a super built team where Rose can chill and score when he needs to. Order for Chicago to win, Rose has to play like a superstar 20+pts with 8-9 ast per night.

Yeah, you could be right. I just finished reading an article about how Boozer will affect the team. It did mention about what you said, how Rose's numbers might decline a bit but he should maintain a 25 point average. On Monday's game I still think he played well but I guess he could have put up a few more buckets. So maybe I will take my last comment back.

Link to article.

I believe Rose was 3-13 that evening.

I'm not going to say Boozer is the solution for Chicago but he certainly is the much-needed secondary scoring if Rose goes cold and gives Chicago a chance.

Without Boozer, if Rose has that sort of evening, Chicago had NO chance.

For shame, Jazz, for letting a terribad team beat you.

All trolling aside, good to see they're finally somewhat of a team.

Ron Artest considers giving half of his 2011-12 salary to charity

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/bal...urn=nba-293319

Ron Artest is easy to mock. Just two days ago, we brought you a story in which he said basketball is not tennis for no discernible reason. Every week, there's a new story involving his doing something silly. He is like the blogger's cornucopia: full of stories, never empty, and always nourishing.
On the other hand, I respect few NBA players as much as him. And it's because of things like this. From Scott Howard-Cooper of NBA.com:
Before he even gives away his 2010 championship ring in an online raffle to raise funds and increase awareness of mental-health issues in schools, the Lakers small forward is already focusing on another unprecedented donation that would mean millions of dollars and immeasurable attention to the same important cause.
He told NBA.com he is seriously thinking about handing over at least half, and maybe all, of next season's $6.79 million salary.
"I'm definitely considering the whole thing," Artest said. "Or maybe 60 percent."
Although he may not finalize details until the summer, he called the plan "very serious. I've talked to my wife about it already. It's a powerful message. The message is about the inspiration. That's what I want, to inspire people. People will be like, ‘Wow. Why is he doing this? Oh, that's why. Wow. We need to help educate.' I didn't come [to the Lakers] for the money. Obviously I could have gone somewhere else, even a lesser market. Pay less taxes. The taxes here are freaking killing me, you know what I'm saying?"
According to the story, Artest considered making a similar donation four seasons ago before his business manager convinced him otherwise. If he had gone through with it, Artest says he would have moved his family into a modest apartment if necessary.
As you may remember, Ron-Ron already plans to auction his championship ring for charity to raise money for the cause. Artest has struggled with his own mental health issues in the past, and he is clearly better for seeking out help. With these donations, he wants more people to have access to the same help he had.
Charity occupies a very real place in our society, but it's also typically kept to modest levels. By this standard, Artest's actions could appear to be overkill: Yes, we get it Ron, you want people to be helped like you were. But that point of view forgets the fact that Artest is being as generous as any NBA player in recent memory.
We often ask athletes to have more of a social conscience beyond buying themselves cars and mansions and mink coats with cell phones built into the lining. Artest is doing exactly that to a degree we've rarely seen from his generation.
It's fine to mock his goofiness, but realize that he's doing a lot of good, too. After several years in the wilderness, Ron Artest has become a great human being.

Good win. 6 in a row by double figures. They even replayed the last alley oop Wade to LBJ and they Ooohed it in Utah.

I take back what I thought last year... D.Rose can be a closer! Now I'm not sure whats more important... another big time scorer like Carmelo, or a scoring shooting guard. We are pretty weak in that position!

Problem is, who do the Bulls need to give up to get Carmelo...?

And do they have the space to sign him if FA was the route? I don't think so...

The Lakers v Heat Christmas game might be interesting after all. For awhile when both teams were losing games they should'nt have I was thinking it might not be as good.

even though we got the win, i was very disappointed in the Heat's play. it was a very sloppy game. it looked like they need more dribbling and passing practices.

^Yeah they're still not running on all cylinders. There's always a quarter that we suck and lose our comfy lead. BTW, Mark Cuban now says we're the best team in the league. I guess he took Van Gundy lessons.

^^^ I don't think Miami is the best team in the league right now. I will definitely put them on my top 5 best team in the league, but still got long way to go.

I still can't trust Rose as a closer yet....

They just need to find a decent sg to complete their team. I don't think Chicago has money to bring melo.

Bulls had a good game. Same ole same ole from the Lakers. Rose was his usual great self.

Win or lose this game, the Lakers are tired and missing bigs right now, IMO. Still could have won this game, but not having any bigs past Lamar and Pau is stretching resources. No Bynum means Pau needs to be a center all times. No backups in Ratliff or Caracter, and Ron Artest has to play power forward. So the length and depth at big that got them through the playoffs is non-existent pushes players into positions that don't usually play or some weird lineups are out there as a result.

As I said previously, I don't forsee good this december for the Lakers or even this roadie. I still think they are the best team in the league when Bynum and backups are around, but right now, there are other teams that can claim that.
