Oh I agree - that's not what I was sayin. He definately wokred for his points especially in game 5 or 6 - can't remember. My point is just that he didn't have to shoulder the load as much this year. He has a really good team, with 3 players who would not only start on other NBA teams, but easily be the 2nd best players on those teams. That's a lot of help.

Well, at least they aren't sitting around sobbing like the Nets and Knicks after LeBron left them at the altar... ![Dunno](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)

They look to be a solid team for the next season. But, let's see if Redick signs first...

We did a sign and trade with Cleveland that freed up space to keep haslem. Thanks Gilbert.

The Quicken Loans Arena will be empty this fall. I don't see how the Cavs survive this season with the current roster, which could not step up to help LeBron. They are fucked.
Is it too late to be a fan of the Lakers?

For one I'm not a heat fan and second how bout you actually read what I post before you quote someone to "clarify" things dummy. Lol I think it's pretty obvious nobody outside the state of Ohio really cares what lebron does at the end of the day.

hahahahhaa. Bill Simmons compares this to the "Bash at the Beach". Very funny and ironic.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H76DwHgOwpA
Here's the Bill Simmons article. What he wrote was gold... and some of the fan mail is funny as well:

Ahh thanks for the laugh JB. Thanks for posting that and the article. Couldn't agree more.

I heard a snipet of the rally in Miami and I heard Lebron talk about them winning 7-8 championships and Wade said that they are arguably the best trio to ever play the game. I know the adrenaline was rushing but they are hardly the best trio to ever play and lets start with one before you get carried away.

Interesting article most of you will disagree with
http://m.miamiherald.com/mh/db_42948...hz9all&src=cat
And what's funny is that bill simmons agreed back in 07 with Boston making the move for the big 3. He was on the radio arguing with Dan Le Batard why miamis wouldn't work when it's essentially the same concept.

^^No. Its leverage for negotiations with the Lakers. But if youre going to go out and get someone that can be a glue guy, there's no better glue guy for the past 5 years.
LA perspective (at least from those Laker fans that don't freak out over every piece of news):

Edit: this was for the Fisher post.

He's too biased, IMO.

But Re: the Lakers, given Fisher's ability to put up with Kobe's bull, he is worth more to the Lakers than any other team. At the end of the day, Kobe's won without Shaq, but he's never won without Fish. Fish knows this and is using it. While I think Riley is serious in his interest, Fish will likely sign back with the Lakers.

Secondly if these players were a dime a dozen if the Heat don't sign Fisher the others would want more money than Fish because chances are they aren't turning 36 next month and slowing down.
My point is you can get a lot of of role player guys but not with the caliber of leadership that of Derek Fisher brings to the table and trust me I don't care how good this trio is they will need some leadership down the line in tough situations.

^^I agree with your sentiment, but most NBA fans outside of LA don't or won't want to see that fact. Contending teams seem to agree with your sentiment as well: the Cavs wanted him until they lost lebron, the Lakers still want him and now Miami wants him in the backcourt....high praise when you're the first PG they want alongside 2 elite wings.
And the fact that his age affects his game is countered by the work he's done in concert with Kobe backcourt, against the great point guards in Nash, Deron, Westbrook, Rondo, Jameer Nelson, etc.
Role player is one thing, but this role relative to others is a big one. Its not just Laker fans, the contenders want him.

This Miami thing is getting out of hand in Vegas the oddsmakers have them 8-1 winning the NBA championship and the Lakers 11-5 that is absolutely ridiculous because these guys haven't played together yet and with all the motivation they have given other teams by proclaiming to be the Gods of basketball I don't even think its 8-1 they will win the Eastern Conference especially if KG, the Truth, and Jesus Shuttlesworth have anything to say about it.

Fair enough point taken - but your posts sounded the same as some of the other heat fans.

JJ Redick to the Bulls. So that's Korver, Booze, Reddick....not a bad haul. They have some good depth, but their downfall is the lack of a dominant wing that most contenders feature. I think how well they become depends on how well their offense is suited to their players. Their defense should be tight though, with Thibodeau coaching.
At least it seems like the Bulls had a plan B. Cavs and Knicks hinged too much of their future on LeBron.
Edit: Reddick to the Bulls depends on if the Magic will match....

^ Sounds like Magic will match the Bulls offer for Redick...

^^That sucks, but ya, they really like him down there. Either way, I think JJ's really done well for himself and the Bulls have shown a pretty good flexibility despite not getting any of the big FAs.

A little more local perspective from Cleveland...
So did LBJ, Wade, and Bosh cheat and collude to come together? Did LeBron lose in the playoffs on purpose so he'd have a convenient excuse to leave? Did he overstate his elbow injury? That's what it's coming to in the Cleveland sports media now:
http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index....iamis_cou.html
Honestly, most Clevelanders have moved on as we are so used to having loser sports franchises. Cleveland has bigger challenges right now anyway--the city itself has lost the most people of any city in the U.S. in the last decade (New Orleans doesn't count as its depopulation was nature-related). There are no jobs except in health care, manufacturers have closed at an accelerating pace, and the city and region are literally on death's doorstep despite some positive attributes, and they were there BEFORE the Great Recession. I, myself, only stay here only because my wife refuses to leave--literally the only way I can leave is to get a divorce. Love the wife
, can't do that.
Anyhoo, back to sports....the primary debate among fans right now is how to move on. Options are: a) blow up the team and start over, MAYBE to get championship talent that will come to fruition in five years, or b) stabilize the bleeding and end up with 45-50 win seasons....good enough to maybe get to the first round of the playoffs, not bad enough for high draft picks, not good enough to win championships.
It looks like Dan Gilbert has leaned toward b) as Clevelanders have put up with so many 20-game win seasons from the Cavs that they will not accept this again with an uncertain payoff. In addition, 20-30 win seasons will mean that businesses around our stadium area downtown will see such loss of business that they will go bust. The Indians (baseball) suck so badly the last few years that this is already happening....people won't support "rebuilding" teams....why spend their hard-earned money on a poor product?
I personally hope that the b) method works out like it did for the Pistons a few years ago. No choice....what free agents are gonna come to Cleveland? Especially with LeBron himself now responding to Dan Gilbert's letter by saying "it will cost him", an obvious threat.....like FAs were flocking to Cleveland even with LeBron on the team....
