Well the Rangers are doing their part but the Bosox and Angels just won't fucking lose! Come on here... this is the best Rangers team in like 15 years we deserve to make the playoffs. I hope the Rays and Yankees and Angels coming up for the Bosox will make them drop some games.

Oh don't you worry. I'll make time to keep you pissed off and scared, even if it means flunking out of school

Regardless of where the Twins finish this year, they absolutely pounded the White Sox, especially the last 3 at the Cell.

Will you miss the Twins playing at the Metrodome? I read a story about it the other day...apparently when the Twins won the series in '87 and '91 they won all of their home games and lost all of their away games both times

Wonder what will happen to it when the Vikings contract is up in 2011?

I definitely will not miss it. I was at both World Series and most playoff games since, but next year will be my first full year as a season ticket holder. Row 1!

The Vikings still don't have a new stadium deal in place, which means no new stadium will be available to them by 2011, even if they broke ground today...

they'll have no choice but to loose $$ and stay in the Metrodome passed their lease at this point, unless the team moves to a different city, or they play in the U of M's new 40,000 seat stadium while their own is being built.

As long as the Vikings are in the dome, even without the Twins, the dome makes enough $$ to function 365. however, without the Vikings, the Dome would definitely have to go. And supposedly, the site of the Metrodome is the top choice for a new football stadium at this point.

There are two huge drawbacks of the new outdoor stadium. One is they will lose some home field advantage, and two is fewer people will drive in from the Dakotas and upstate MN if they don't have a 100% guarantee of a game. But they should get some more revenue from the place, to be used toward Joe Mauer's 12-year contract.

Row 1 in the new stadium? Is your last name Smith or Pohlad?

The new park is going to be great for fans living within 50 miles of the Cities, and maybe ESPN will show more than one game a year for their fans 500 miles away.

I hear this all the time, but it's a ridiculous take. It's no different than any other out-door stadium in the Midwest - Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, etc... On average, what % of fans come from out of the Twin Cities metro area anyway - 5%? BFD.

Furthermore, in 2008, only 8 games would have been delayed or rained out. And in 2009, only 5. Weather should NOT play a significant factor in the viability of an outdoor stadium here. It will cold, yes, but we're not sissies here in MN.

1st row of the outfield, so it's not THAT impressive, but I have flown in the Pohlad family jet before... :smug:

Can someone explain why Fredi Gonzalez might get fired even though this is the 3rd best record EVER for Florida even though we didn't make the playoffs. If this is true then our owner is officially a giant douche.

You answered your own question. It is an insult to even think about entertaining another manager considering Fredi's record and this is coming from a Phillies fan living in Marlins country.

The only coach the Reds fired was Dick Pole, the pitching coach, even though our pitching was a bright spot this year. From what I hear Walt Jocketty wants to bring in Dave Duncan from St. Louis, who I hate with a passion along with his bitch boy sons, and who recently accused Bronson Arroyo of cheating in a game.

Someone please fucking explain to me why when the Mets blow a big lead in September it's called a collapse, but when the Tigers do it it's called a Minnesota rally.

The Tigers had a 3 game lead with 4 left to play.
