Didn't really have much worthwhile to post but noticed we dropped below the Bowling thread so we obviously needed a bump.
As if it weren’t hard enough to score Leafs tickets, Justin Bieber claims he’s been drafted to the team.
In a video posted to the Canadian pop star’s Instagram page Tuesday morning, the Biebs — flanked by a couple of pals — says: “So as you all know the Leafs, um, haven’t been doing great lately but this year they’re going to be spectacular.”
He then points to his buddies and himself in the 16-second clip, titled “Please Toronto Maple Leafs win the Cup,” and jokingly says they’ll be playing for the team this year.
In a second video, Bieber and friends can be seen pretending to play hockey while egging each other on, yelling, “Slapshot, top shelf, goal!”
Bieber also shows off his mock “dangles” — his impressive imaginary stick handling — at one point in the clip.
The self-proclaimed diehard Leaf fan got the attention of the club, who tweeted out the second video with the message: “Nice dangles, bro.”
In 2011, Bieber skated with a handful of Leafs during an on-ice session.
At the time, defenceman Jake Gardiner said he was impressed by the pop phenom.
“I was telling some of the guys he’s got some good moves,” Gardiner said.
Bieber even managed to put a few pucks behind then-Leafs goalie Jonas Gustavsson, who said while he didn’t play at the top of his game, he didn’t give the teen star any freebies either.

Managing a roster, the salaries, and all the other things for a hockey team is quite different than having experience playing the game.
So, not surprising that stat was discovered. Don't really need experience as a pro player to be a successful/great GM.

Being a coach may be different, methinks. Having pro experience I would like to think is an asset. But, again, could be debatable.

Olympics will be interesting for sure. But my money will be on Russia. Home Ice and the swell of pride they're getting in the success (I think) of the KHL will be too much for another team to overcome. Russian teams are typically highly overrated in these tourney's IMO but they'll pull it out this time.
Last time the Winter Olympics were held overseas Canada didn't even medal and the US tore apart their hotel. Hope they have better luck this time.

Mark my words....I know.
The only downside is that if Voynov delivers the goldz for Russia, both him and Doughty will not be invited (kidnapped) to dwell in dom's basement for weeks after the tourney.
However if Doughty does deliver the goldz, we all know where to "find" Doughty after the games.
