Sure it does. You wish you had a goalie like that on the Leaves...and if you did, you'd promptly trade him away.
And don't you have Burke press conferences to listen in on...? That guy seems to be calling one every day these day to yack about what he "plans" to do in the off-season.

The sizzle in the Steak
At least somewhere long long ago, you guys have your team name on Lord Stanley's Cup.
....can't say that for my team.
No cup here from 67-68 season to present.
The few, the infamous, the down-trodden:
Los Angeles Kings (1967-68)
The Kings have been to the Stanley Cup Final once, losing to the Canadiens in 1993.
St. Louis Blues (1967-68)
The Blues represented the Western Division (consisting exclusively of expansion teams) in the Stanley Cup Finals of 1968, 1969, and 1970.
Buffalo Sabres (1970-71)
The Sabres have been to the Stanley Cup Final twice, losing to the Flyers in 1975 and Stars in 1999.
Vancouver Canucks (1970-71)
The Canucks have been to the Stanley Cup Final twice, losing to the Islanders in 1982 and Rangers in 1994.
Washington Capitals (1974-75)
The Capitals have been to the Stanley Cup Final once, losing to the Red Wings in 1998.
San Jose Sharks (1991-92)

If anyone knows the location of Daniel and Henrik Sedin please notify Mike Gilles or the Vancouver Canucks immediately.

And where's Kesler's offense...? Mind you, at the rate Nashville is playing the Canucks, I think most games are going to be very low-scoring.

Be happy your Pens even made the playoffs...in hindsight, they had zero to no chance without Malkin and Crosby.
I mean, if you take the Sedins away from the Canucks, different story since they have no idea what playoff-production is with those two...BUT, with the Pens? Yeah, no way.

We definitely didn't have the offensive prowess to go far in the playoffs, what stings most is being up 3-1 and blowing the series, but TB figured us out and adjusted.

I was VERY surprised they didn't close out T-Bay. I just didn't think they could get past the 2nd round...
Burning Brakes
We are used to seeing one of the top three goalies in the league. He even had more saves than Renne last game but hes gonna have to do alot more to make up for his collapse in the 2 Chicago games.
I still think the Canucks should win in 6 (if the Sedins can wake up!). The Pedaphiles have no offence....lets see how long they can ride their goalie

I watched the opening of the Boston/Philadelphia game in Philly. Because they sing God Bless America instead of the Star Spangled Banner, in lieu of the Osama bin Laden situation, I was thinking that God Bless America would be more United Center-like. I was under whelmed.....

That being said, looks like we ALMOST have Boston where we want them although Thomas has been ridiculously-good in goal. I admit it's going to be tough to come back but then again that's what I thought last year.

Singing GBA instead of the SSB is a long-honored Philly tradition especially during big games. It all started in 1974 with our first cup run. Kate Smith performed it in person on several occasions and continues to do so via taped recording. Lauren Hart (daughter of the late long-time iconic Flyers play-by-play man Gene Hart) adds the live touches in blending her own voice with Smith's. Nothing underwhelming about it if you know the tradition.

Yea, I was thinking that it would be especially raucus, given the recent happenings...more like the SSB at Chicago Stadium/United Center. There seems to obviously be a lot of American patroitism again right now. I was thinking the Philly fans would standing and loudly applauding!
The Flyers definitely don't make it easy on themselves in the playoffs-that's for sure. Best of luck with the Boston series. I watched the game last night. It sure was exciting-sorry about the loss in overtime though....

Glendale Pays League $25M...
Story from TSN...
Sources tell TSN that the city of Glendale has paid the National Hockey League the $25 million that was due Tuesday.
The league delivered the bill to Glendale, mere days after the Phoenix Coyotes were eliminated from the playoffs.
The $25 million is the amount Glendale committed to paying to cover a portion of the teams losses while the city and league pursued a new owner.
Taxpayer watchdog Goldwater Institute released a response to the idea of the city paying $25 million to the NHL.
"The deal has lots of moving and interconnected parts, so it makes sense for us to address all of the issues when a deal is finalized."
