It is strange to see so much activity this far ahead of the deadline. Seems Boston is the most busy. Since they're making a run for it all they want to make sure they don't lose out.

Something like that. Still not sure why a place like Hockeybuzz allows Eklund a forum to post his idiocy.

I think the 2 beatings Detroit laid on them last week woke the bosses up to the fact that they can beat Dallas and Montreal until the cows come home but that won't get them past the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Luke Schenn, in his 3rd season is now the longest tenured Maple Leaf. Talk about turnover.

Crazy to see the Blues give up their former first rounder. Wonder what the deal is. Thought he was pretty solid. But I hardly ever get to see the Blues play.

Yummy cakes, nice to see your boy put down the sambuca and jager long enough to show up on the stat sheet yesterday.

Hey, at least he didn't punch a cab driver on his way home and ask for two cents back.

So Heritage Classic.....why?

Did anyone watch?

Does anyone care?

Why does the NHL schedule this game during the "stretch-drive"?

I watched some of it, had cleaning to do. But I ended up watching a part of every game yesterday.

Pens trade gogo to dallas for Neal and Niskanen.

We totally raped Dallas on this trade.

red text? Think it benefits both teams. I see no rapage at all. Gogo could breakout somewhere else for sure.

I think Jonesi is being his typical superstitious self as usual...Not sure what Joe was smoking in Dallas to pull off that trade. Neal is a nice scoring winger who will do well on the 2nd line and even 1st line duties...

And Nikanen needed a nice change of scenery but has some good upside considering what he racked up just a couple years back...

Pens got the better end of the deal, but it benefits both sides for sure. I'm happy with the trade, Pens needed to get what value they could out of gogo

I think Goligoski is held back in Pittsburgh, too many dmen. There's too many in the system also. He could really become a solid offensive and PP dman in Dallas and explode. I think on any other team he'd be a 1 or 2 dman.

I think straight up Gogo for Neal is totally fair. And from what I heard Nikanen they just threw in since he needed a change of scenery like you mentioned. But we have too many dmen and don't think he'll fit. trade bait?

Plus Gogo is a steal right now signed for next year also at like $1.5 million.

Def no rapage...

no, neal is a friggin BEAST. just wait and see man. power forwards like him don't come around too often and at the cheap price we paid. We totally owned dallas on this trade.

He instantly becomes the best winger on this team, and will score 30-35G next season with Crosby.

^ Yep. Neal is a big guy...not shy from the physical game and can also score 25-30 a year.

Have him play with a good playmaker like Malkin or Crosby and that can translate to another 8-10 goals on a good year. I'd say the Pens made out quite well. And watch, Niskanen just needs to rediscover his confidence...he's going to be a decent, puck-moving D-man.

I know I know.. Just trying to be a realist... Unless for some reason they think Gogo is the next Paul Coffey then I don't think they'd give up the next Cam Neely.. Just sayin'

We also thought the same thing with Tangradi. All thought he'd be scoring 20-30 goals in the NHL by now.

Pretty simple really, So a Canadian team can have an outdoor game. You'll never see a Canadian team in the Winter Classic so why not?

Didn't watch it either but I'm sure Flames and Canadian fans loved it.

Well, neal has. gp/g/a/pts/pims

2009-10 Dallas Stars NHL 78 27 28 55 64
2010-11 Dallas Stars* NHL 59 21 18 39 60

Gogo is over rated and we don't need him anymore.

Hey Waldorf...McKenzie is talking possibly Richards, Hemsky or even Penner being on your team.

Simmonds and Schenn are the asking prices though.

Another outdoor game? I'm sure we'll see one next season. The potential lockout isn't until after next year.

I think EK reported a possible Kessel to the Kings trade on the weekend.

Don't know about that. The pressure to make the playoffs may cause Deano to move him.

Nope. The pressure is to win a cup not to get into the playoffs.

....and that said pressure is not for this year. The Kings are not going to sell the future to make a run at the playoffs. This team is no cup contender.

This is not Philly or Dallas even. The farm will not be sold this year.

The carrot that is Phil Kessel may be too hard to turn down.
