Canes absolutely owned the 2 periods of OT, the Craps had zero response to their forecheck, at one point the shots were 8-0 Canes in the first OT. Definitely was a fun game 7 to watch, happy the Canes were able to pull it out.
Indeed. Really awesome to see how evenly matched teams in the NHL are becoming. Anyone can win on any given night for about 2/3 of the league and that is a good thing I think for the league as a whole. I mean Edmonton will still be at the bottom but there are just some things you can't fix.
By now, all teams should know that a 3 goal lead means nothing and you better play your ass off for the entire 60 minutes +. So many big leads squandered.
Going to be hard not to cheer for either the Jackets or Canes for the rest of the playoffs for me.
I'm rooting for the Isles the rest of the way even thought their fans are gloriously obnoxious. Rejected GM, rejected coach, rejected team. Hard not to root for IMO. Was desperately hoping for a leaves/isles match up in the conf finals because the trolling at Nassau was epic when Pajama Boy made his first visit back.
Speaking of bedtime, I think the curse of Phil the Thrill is real. The best laid Shanaplans will meet a dead end when domchaville is already in cap hell and the team hasn't made it past the first round yet. Leaves fans might rue the day Dubas won PJ boy away from the emperor lamarillo, the defense is still suspect and now 50% of you cap is going to 4 players. Whoopsie.
And its ironic that the knives are out for Babs in year 4. Look at the run Tampa has had without winning a cup. Can he survive another 4 years on his deal? Doubtful. Leaves nation will run him out of town like they do to everyone else. Because 6ix million couch GM's can't be wrong!
We don't need you... Barzy's better... It's your bed time...
Am very selfishly rooting for the Sharks out of the West for no reason other than the Nyquist trade jumps from a third to a second round pick if they survive to finals.

Same reason I'm rooting Dallas. Need them to make it to the 3rd.

The Jerks are playing some good hockey. Definitely fun to watch. I will be in Raleigh on Friday. Tempted to see what a nose bleed ticket is going for and go catch game 4. Never been to a playoff NHL game.
Avs came out flat last night to start the game and I was worried they were giong to go down 2-0 with no fight. Thankfully they woke up and turned it on in periods 2 and 3. It's a new series now going back to Colorado with home ice now.

Love the Jerks making so much noise.
But, man...Isles must find a way to not hit the crossbar all game.
I hated the "bunch of jerks" description when they first started using it, I realize that it was meant as an insult and they've embraced it. But I was thinking about it and to me it reminds me of the "Bunch of Misfits" mentality that Vegas embraced and ran with last year. The Canes haven't been in the playoffs for 10 years, so they're just embracing the moment and playing for each other, teams like that are scary and can go far if they keep playing the way that they are. Definitely interesting to see
I love stories like that when you see a team get fueled by a label someone put on them and it brings them together. Proves that anything can happen. Sadly I am not sure they are going to be able to survive this latest round of injuries. They are really depleted to the point even a stacked roster would have trouble staying afloat and they don't have that luxury. I still hope they can pull it off though.
Come on you had one job to do. Come out with intensity in your first home round 2 playoff game since 2004 and you failed. Colorado looked awful last night. I think they played well for maybe 20min out of 60. After the first two games I had faith they would at least take the series to 7 games even if they lost. After last night they seriously deflated that faith. If they don't come out and dominate all game on Thursday I predict this will be over in 5 games and people will say the first round is a fluke sadly.
The game at 2-2 felt jittery if you were an Isles fan...they knew they had to win this and they looked tentative to me in their play...Carolina...well, they had nothing to lose and played that way. Buncha Jerks are a game from the Conference Finals. Wow.
