Another lackadaisical start for the Pens, go down 2-0 and then come back and win 3-2 just like the win against the Sharks the other night. Glad Sid came back quickly and looked good. His timing was a bit off, but he scored a sick goal to get the team going
And that's all that counts!
Glad to hear he's back.
In other news, oilers have had their best start since 1985 McClelland keeps yelling at people, telling them not to get too excited and that basically the team still sucks. Which is 100% true. They just got lucky.

Catching the latter parts of the Oil/Caps game...is Edmonton for real or is this an illusion? Their start is impressive and if they play .500 for the rest of the way, they'd finish pretty decently.
Still, let's see if they can sustain this.

2 games in a row they started bad & came back with enough to win while shutting the door. It is opposite of previous seasons where they start good & then die in the 3rd.
I'd like to see a full game of consistent hockey.

Small sample... But they are definitely improved from last year. I still think their D is lacking and will be exposed later in the season
Ack is right- their defense is still lacking. They need another big D man. They also need a better backup goalie.
The coach said it himself, after their previous win- paraphrasing, but it was along the lines of "don't get too excited. This is not a playoff contending team yet. There are still many voids that need to be addressed"
I think he's right.

I thought the Montreal Toronto get was going to be a blow out, but it seemed fairly even, at least from when I caught the game. Good on Toronto for hanging in there, but I wouldn't be too bitter about the loss... Montreal is a force to reckon with, especially with Price
I'd say. Oilers took 38 shots on him and he stopped every single one of them. It was a weird game though. It looked like the oilers couldn't get control of the puck for at least half the game, yet they still outplayed Ottawa overall.
Anderson did an amazing job though.

Anderson did an amazing job though.
- during training camp Anderson had to take a leave of absence from the team for "personal matters"
- after the win against Vancouver last week he once again requested a leave of absence for "personal matters"
- it was just announced that the personal matter is that his wife Nicholle has just been diagnosed with cancer
and his leaves of absence were to be with her
- it was Nicholle, seeing Andrew Hammond get injured in the game against Calgary, who told Craig to get back
to his team because they needed him more
- so Craig flew from Florida to rejoin the Sens in Edmonton ...and played a superb game
He truly did an amazing job considering where his head must be.
As for his wife Nicholle, just diagnosed with cancer, undergoing tests to determine the extent and course of
treatment, and she tells him to rejoin his team because they need him more than she does.
That's why my comment on the Edmonton game was simply:
Craig Anderson
Nicholle Anderson
