Get over it, orpiks a pussy and set precedent for other pussys to take runs at people and constantly run away from the consequences.
If McQuaid took out Crosby like that you'd want someone on the pens to go after him for it.

Poor domcha lost his religion after he realized that babs wasn't the second coming of sweet lil baby Jesus and lameriello sold his soul to the devils. Seriously, the guy does kinda look like who you'd imagine beelzebub to be in human form.
So basically what I'm trying to say is domcha shanabanned himself to purgatory like moogelino.

Except moog rode off into the sunset after watching his team win 2 cups. Dom gave up and crawled into his igloo after 49 years of pain and misery.

Just got them. DTV's Genie did not record programs. After 3 years of "working" on it from them I gave up. They are ota models that get most streaming services and see my Plex server. I am saving over 100 a month. Wish I had done it years ago.

Failboat is what failboat does...Oilers.
Scathing write-up from the local press about the annual that is called, the Oilers...
Bottom of the barrel: the sad, yearly refrain of the Edmonton Oilers | Edmonton Journal
Scathing write-up from the local press about the annual that is called, the Oilers...
Slap some lipstick and put some earrings on a pig, and it’s still a porker.
Even if the Edmonton Oilers do look better on a lot of nights under new coach Todd McLellan, and they’ve lost 16 games by a goal, and they’ve seldom been steam-rolled but for the odd butt-kicking by the Canadiens and Islanders, the standings say they look the same.
And, that’s the only thing that counts.
God almighty, No. 30, again.
“It’s almost like a terminal illness,” said TSN commentator Craig Button, former Calgary GM.
As some sarcastic fan said Saturday night, “Welcome home.”
Sad but true.
In the NHL basement behind the Toronto Marlies, er, Maple Leafs, who are fielding an AHL lineup with all their injuries and a $30 million payroll these days.
“The Oilers fell 3-2 to Colorado Saturday. And before you say, another close loss, they’ve also won 11 times by a single goal.
“You don’t win enough games, that’s where you are (30th),” said McLellan. “Disappointing for all the whole organization. It’s not where we thought we’d be. The workload we thought we’d have at the beginning of the year is even greater.”
“There’s no easy way, no magic wand. We’ll continue to pound away and make individuals better.”
There’s absolutely zero progress in the standings. So, it falls on the players. There will be changes this summer; some of the core players will be gone for their own self-preservation.
Not that they aren’t really good players — they’re skilled and productive — but the shoe has to drop sometime. The fan base and organization has been very loyal considering the pain it took to get the first-rounders but GM Peter Chiarelli has no loyalty to the past. He needs a defenceman or two and a different makeup of top six players.
So Jordan Eberle could be traded. Taylor Hall may be. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins? Maybe.
Considering how beaten down they are by all the losing, they may welcome a get-out-of-jail card. They deserve some fun and wins elsewhere.
“When I came to Calgary (as GM) and they hadn’t made the playoffs for five years, I was amazed at the loyalty and belief they had in players from ownership, the president,” said Button. “Not that Cory Stillman or Val Bure or Derek Morris were bad players, but they hadn’t won. Yet the idea of trading them was, ‘Omigod, you can’t do that. You’d have though Derek Morris was Bobby Orr. I thought, ‘What?’ “
“I tried to bring in players who had game and winning experience. We had Jarome (Iginla) who was wonderful. I wanted to build around him, and Robyn Regehr on defence, who was what I call a motor. I got (centres) Chris Drury and Stephane Yelle for Morris. They’d won (in Colorado). Then we were able to sign Marty Gelinas who had won (with the Oilers). He added a lot to our group,” said Button.
There are no untouchables on the Oilers now, save for Connor McDavid and maybe Leon Draisaitl and defenceman Darnell Nurse.
The Oilers have played 60 games and won 12 in regulation time.
The Oilers have 22 games left. Apart from three against Vancouver and singles with Columbus, Winnipeg, Calgary and Buffalo — teams in the same boat as them — everybody else on the playbill is in a playoff fight.
And they play the Sabres, Jets, Jackets and once in Vancouver, and the Oilers have seven road wins in 30 games, worst in the league.
If they won eight of their last 22, they’d have 66 points. Still 25 outside a playoff spot.
The Oilers aren’t always the worst team in the league, but they’re always darned close.
While comparable teams like Colorado are 16 points better, and New Jersey is 15, Carolina 14 and Philly 13 ahead of them, they are last.
Last year, there was much unrest in Colorado when they missed the playoffs after 112 points the year before. But the Avs missed with 90 points last season. We’d die for 90 points here.
Twenty-ninth last year with 62 points, while Buffalo was last at 54.
Twenty-eighth the year before with 67.
An anomaly in the lockout season, 24th, under Ralph Krueger in 48 games.
Twenty-ninth in 2011-12 with 74.
Thirtieth the year before with 62.
Thirtieth in 2009-10 with 62.
The Buffalo Bills have gone 16 consecutive in the NFL, Oakland and Cleveland 13 straight, so the Oilers have a ways to go to catch their futility, but they are getting not one smidgeon better.
They can talk all they want about injuries to McDavid and Oscar Klefbom and the rest, but injuries happen to every team. It’s a poor excuse, a crutch. And it’s asinine to think McDavid, who just turned 19, should be leaned on this heavily for team production with a: “Well, if we’d just had Connor we’d have more wins.”
Maybe they’d have 10 more points if he hadn’t busted his collarbone. But since McDavid’s return on Feb. 2, the Oilers are 3-7. They’ve won seven of the 23 games he’s played.
So, they lose no matter what.
As for Klefbom, who’s missed 30 games, he’s young and good but it’s not like they’ve lost Drew Doughty or Erik Karlsson. C’mon now.
Against the Avs, it was the same old story. The other team needed it more and got it.

Team Owner
I said it at the start of the season, and I'll say it again- an 18 year old kid cannot make up for an entire team. It's exciting when he gets on a roll, but last I checked, this is a team sport.
So what do the Oilers do now? I'm seriously asking. No one wants to come here- I mean, why would you, if you're a good player? The fans will scrutinize you to death, you can't listen to the radio, watch TV or look at a newspaper without seeing your name. You can't live a normal life. You have to endure brutally cold weather, in an isolated city, in the middle of nowhere. I can think of 27 other teams I'd rather play for, for less money, than Edmonton.
At best, we can get an average player, for a way above average salary. That's not conducive to winning. The two dummies who started this losing trend (Lowe and McTavish) are now nowhere near the front line of running this team. I think they're only on payroll still because the owner feels obligated to keep them, because they were from the miracle days.
I do like that article you posted though. I'm GLAD someone has the guts to stand up and say the truth. In the last ten years, the Oilers haven't been able to garner ONE good, veteran player. NOT ONE. So again, we have children playing in a mens league.
I also like how Chiarelli doesn't care about who's who on the team, besides the 3 guys named in the article. I'm glad he's willing to potentially dump anyone of the other players. People don't want to lose any of our 1st round picks, not because they're super great, but because if we trade them, we will likely get the losing end of the deal, for yet again, average players at best.
There's been speculation here, that started about 2 years ago, that the Oilers wouldn't start turning things around until they get into that new arena. Is it true? Who knows. I mean, why would it be? But at this point, we're willing to believe anything.

Yum, I know you like to say the same stuff over and over and over, but you gotta realize that NO ONE here is happy about [potentially, and likely] getting another pick. NO ONE.

Everyone wants to be with winners. And while the location of Edmonton, climate, taxes, and etc. are not ideal, they can circumvent that by building a winning program and culture. Detroit is not exactly the sexiest of cities nor is Pittsburgh but I don't see players shunning those places.
You can hope McDavid is the start for the Oil...but, per the columnist, it's time to blow up the core and try to get some defensive help.
What a trainwreck though.
