From what I've read, only Toronto and buffalo filed the necessary paperwork to talk to him. Buffalo has gone further and filed paperwork to actually hire him. I'm pretty certain that is just a formality due to the draft picks any team would have to give up by hiring him while still under contract.

I'm wondering why any team who comes to an agreement with him would hire him before his contract was up. Why give up draft picks when you can hire him when his contract expires in a few months.
