Watch the slowmo replay, look at the puck, the goal, and the direction ovi went with his stick along with te attempted chip around letang from his backhand to his forehand.

Letang tries to regain his balance after getting slashed on the back of the leg, catches a rut and looses an edge, before going head first into the boards... He should be fined for diving

The Pens on THEIR part, probably should've played it cooler instead of handing the Caps PP after PP...but, still, they did try to stick up for their teammate on a play that I think Ovie didn't do on purpose.
Anyhow, just my two cents.

They lead the league in major penalties.
They lead the league in fights.
They are 5 minutes behind Winnipeg for the most total pims.
They don't really deserve the benefit if the doubt when it comes to infractions.

Anyone who's been watching them regularly knows the second round is as far as they could possibly go.

Had he not just chipped it over to that side around Letang I'd probably agree, since he did, I still think a player of his offensive caliber was attempting to put it on net
Big win for the Leaves tonight. Made up a crucial 2 points on the next team in the way of McWaffle.

I've been telling you all season the B's are pretty crappy this year, you're the one convinced they still make the playoffs. I just hope they don't do a knee jerk reaction and start trading good players to "shake things up". The cap issues self resolve next year when Iginlas bonus money is paid off, this years an unfortunate wash (other than trading Boychuck when they didn't realize how mediocre the were).

Malcolm Subban certainly isn't the answer. After his first nhl game his gaa is about 9
Ummm, this is where BlackLabel admonishes that you shouldn't build a team just to make the playoffs, you build it for one thing only: lift the cup. Time to hit reset. It's so easy, everyone is doing it.

Nice for the Pens to finally get a W. I've been saying to anyone who would listen that Hornqvist needed to be back up with Sid, and Kunitz needed to be down with Malkin. Both lines looked great last night. Looking forward to seeing more of those line combinations tonight

I've been saying making trades to get a playoff appearance is a waste. The B's don't need a rebuild, they do need to fill a first line winger position with an actual nhl caliber first line winger and they need someone to replace Thornton on the 4th line. They have cap issues from Iginlas bonuses, even if they make trades they still have 4.1 less on the cap than every other team.
If anything I'm saying don't dick around trying to make the playoffs when there's no chance to lift the cup. Fix it over the summer when the iginla issue is resolved.
Anyhow, Hawks deserve to be run out of the building...mid-season slump at high gear here.

With Thornton gone, McQuaid is the last guy on the b's I'd want to drop the gloves with.

Remember that time Daniel Carcillo cheapshotted that player on your favorite team? This will make you feel better. Check out McQuaids smile around the 56 second mark, he's having fun with his new toy.
In the post-cap world you obviously need to draft, develop talent well and exercise patience, if you gamble like Charelli has to win the cup now, you end up with cap issues. That's on your GM.

Depending on his plan to right the ship at seasons end, I'd say Chiarelli's job is on the line. That is unless the can him ahead of time to appease the season ticket holders.
