My money's on Wilson or Crawford, Rutherford wants a veteran coach. The other possibility is the AHL guy from Dallas, but I doubt he gets it

I would like to see Ulfy get some kind of role, just to watch Black Label's head explode...

Rick Tochette is already a guarantee as an assistant.

Well, he's a good player IMO...just not good enough to be worth the $$$ of his contract. For less, I could see him being a great pick-up.

I certainly would love to see him as a Hawk as a 2nd-line center. But, probably going to be an over-bidding gongshow where some idiot GM overpays again for his services IMO.

I'll also say this: there is no situation where getting "fired" with a $20M parting gift is "BAD NEWS".

You can fire me for the rest of my life for $20M.

So....do the Flyers have to wait until July 1 to sign Brad Richards to a 6 year 42 million dollar deal or can they just do it now?

I'm thinking coaches are looking at Pittsburgh and saying, "not for me." They've had 2 potential coaches take jobs elsewhere over Pitt. Elsewhere isn't really anyplace better, Vancouver is a nice hot mess, Carolina isn't much of a hot bed of Hockey either. BlackAck can just say I'm hating but it does seem like coaches don't want to work with uncoachable superstars.

I think it's more the Cup or bust expectations.

And frankly, with Sid and Malkin, why not? Valid expectations.

Wouldn't you say Vancouver has the same mentality? It may not be as warranted but their expectations are very high. The Sedins may not be Crosby and Malkin but they are in the same conversation in terms of points totals

Erm...no, I'd say Vancouver's Cup chances have left the station 2 seasons ago.

Sedins are not even remotely in the same caliber as Malkin-Crosby.

2 underperforming seasons with Vignault on the way out and then a season with Torts. Either way, in the last 6 seasons the Sedins won 2 Art Ross', the Malkin Crosby combo won 3 (I could have said last 5 seasons was 2:2 but, you know being realistic).

Do you really think the Sedins are just done and over the hill? Maybe they are I don't really pay attention to them or Vancouver. Like I said, not the exact same caliber but in the conversation. Further, I'd say the pressure to win in Vancouver is higher than in Pitt. What else does Vancouver have? Fawking nothing that's what. At least Pittsburgh has other major sports teams to keep the public's attention. Vancouver has the Cansucks and some nice scenery maybe bigfoot and nothing else.

Pittsburgh can't find a coach.

And they couldn't find a GM either. Uh-Oh.

I heard they only offered Willie a 2 year deal which scared him off. Word is they want Bab's after next year so are only looking for a stop gap coach.

And I thought the Leaves were a mess.
