It only took ONE game, but Matt Frattin was a healthy scratch for Columbus last night.

Straight outta Pittsburgh, crazy motherf*cker named Nolan
From the gang called Pengoons Wit Attitudes
When I'm called off, I got a sucka punch-off
Knee to the head and bodies are hauled off
You too boy if you f*ck with me
The Count & the league are gonna have to come and get me
Off yo @ss, that's how I'm going out
For the punk motherf*ckers that's showing out
Malkin start to mumble, they wanna rumble
Mix em and cook em in a pot like gumbo
Going off on a motherf*cker like that
With a gat, that's pointed at yo @ss
So give it up Crosby

Went to high school with him. He's a few years older so didn't know him really. Strange choice to say the least. We'll see how it goes. The guy in charge of Rogers media, Keith Pelley usually makes good decisions so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

So, is McKenzie and Dreger staying on in TSN? How does that work if they have no hockey games with Rogers having a monopoly?

Yes, they're staying. IIRC TSN signed them all long term shortly after Rogers got that deal. TSN still has regional rights. Half of Leaf rights and I think all the Jets and Senator regional rights. :gheylaugh:

Oh okay...cuz, those two are still probably the most knowledgeable on TV and worth watching; also like Lebrun when he joins the group.

Don't really care for the ex-goalie-crew HNIC likes to have on with Weekes, Healy, and Hrudey. Friedman is alright...but, meh.

Sportsnet's current crew with Kypreos and MacLean is meh too.

I actually like Kyper and McLean. Big Freidge and Healy fan as well. No argument that the TSN 3 are the most respected and probably are the best Insiders, but they never really have an opinion or offer anything interesting to say. They're bleh. If I want insider news I'm all over TSN. If I want to hear opinion, its SportsNet.

Ahhhhhhh...I form my own opinions (like no name-brand goalie needed for Hawks' 2 Cup wins of late).

PJ Stock is quite opinionated as is Healy. I think those two are with their analysis at times.

Can't stand Stock or anyone other than McKenzie, Derger or Lebrun on TSN. Ferraro and especially Aaron Ward are just fawkin ear piercing to listen to.

For some reason I've misinterpreted HNIC over the past 2 pages. It took this post to deconcuss my brain to realize it was hockey night in Canada and not the "head nigga in charge"

So, who is the HNIC of HNIC?

I don't mind Ferraro or Ward; but they aren't my favorites by any stretch. I find them to be less annoying than Healy or Hrudey...

The local Sportsnet crew stinks for games. Hopefully this gets upgraded with the new format next year.

Nolan gets a 1 game suspension for his impersonation of the Pengoons.

Memo to NHL players: It's "ok" to do a "cup check" on the opposition players. Retaliation for any "cup check" will be dealt with by the infinite wisdom of the all knowing oracle Shannannanaban.

That's a 15 game suspension if you have an 8 spoked B on your sweater

That's why your boys need to roll Pengoons style, like Nolan did....then you can get away with nearly any sort of cheap shot, and never really have a consequence.

Straight outta Pittsburgh, yo!

The part that drives me nuts is that they consistently punish the result, not the act. Punch a guy with a glass jaw, 15 games... Punch a guy who can take a punch, 1 game.

The action is what is supposed to be getting punished but the league continues to send mixed messages by punishing the result. By punishing the result, there is very little deterrent for not committing the action as the action may carry no penalty at all unless the result is catastrophic.
