Everybody is knocking Zidane, probably because they didn't want to see him go out like that, but even though he shouldn't have done it, that bitch probably deserved it (and maybe something worse).

No - everyone is knocking Zidane, including the French newspapers, because Zidane acted like a bitch and couldn't control himself on the world's biggest stage, with what could have been his career's defining moment on the line. He disgraced himself and his country, and set a terrible example for a million kids out there who idolized him.

I wouldn't really take shots at that would get me banned. What could be said about their soccer program that hasn't already?

Players talk shit all of the time. He's being ripped b/c he could not control himself on the world's stage while tied in OT of the World Cup Final which also happened to be the last game of his career. I don't care what Matrix said to him... it did not warrant Zidane's actions. If Zidane was that pissed off he could have taken care of it off of the pitch...

According to some lip reader, Materazzi called Zidane's sister "a prostitute" twice, and then he called him a terrorist.

I'm curious as to what Zidane will finaly admit to, if he does. I'll give him credit for knocking the shit out of the guy, though I still stand by what I originally posted about him (Zidane).

The terrorist comment is actually pretty damn funny.

Wow, if that is true that makes it even worse. I'm sure much worse shit has been said on the field before to players and they didn't react how he did.

If he was so pissed he should have got in his face or something, or better yet, as I said, taken it up with him after the match. The pussy head to the chest thing is wrong thing to do. All the games he's been in he should know this by now...

I wonder what would happen if some white player used the N word during an NBA game.

Zidane should have just waited for him to get the ball again and lay him out that way. At least you can get a red card with respect and probably lay into the guy a lot harder. I'm still laughing at the headbutt but a cleats up slide tackle from the back might have driven the point home.

I'm more curious about the refs. They come from all over the place. Do they talk to the players in English?

Who cares what penalties Matrix has taken in his career. I can put together a similar reel for Zidane. Its about the time and place. It was also alot more premeditated than going after a guys shins on a slide tackle.

The bottom line is Matrix wanted to get under Zidane's skin, and he suceeded. Zidane should have known better.

Yeah, I was pretty sure Zidane had a good reason for headbutting the guy and what was said had to be pretty bad in his opinion. In any other situation nobody would be making a big deal of it, but just the fact that it was his final game and the World Cup finals made it very bad timing on Zidane's part. He could have waited until after the game was over.

Now I bet ESPN will have a "You can't blame..." show for Zidane.

Probably English most of the time, but Zidane used to play in Italy, so I wouldn't be suprised if it was in Italian.

Zidane played a long time in Italy. He knows alot of those guys very well, and has played on the same team as many of them. But does that make it more or less understandable

Or maybe he really is a terrorist and Matrix almost spoiled his plot to blow up the stadium.

Yes I was thinking the same thing. I highly doubt that every single player that plays in the WC all understand the same language. Maybe they just know certain words or phrases.

Fox news just reported that Zidane had been linked the Al Queda network.

The CIA is offering Materazzi a position that would pay him more than Inter Milan. He left the party in Rome early and could not be reached for further comments.

Oh and I wouldn't be suprised if the Italian said that, the whole Serie A is known for being racist and making monkey sounds when a black player touches the ball.

Here's the Lazio captain after scoring a goal:

I heard it was his prostitute sister who had been linked to Al Queda.

Well, then guess they hate french and muslims more than blacks.

Di Canio is a disgrace. Unfortunately, Lazio and especially its ultra-fans are facist loonies. Hopefully, Lazio will be relegated along with Juventus, Milan, and Firorentia tomorrow.

On the other hand, Matrix and Inter are honorable gentlemen.

How did Wome do at Inter? He just transfered to my favorite club, but I haven't really seen much of him. It seems like he's been switching clubs a lot...

If all those clubs get relegated, I'm sure all the "stars" wouldn't want to play in Serie A anymore. Cappello already left...

He barely played at Inter. A complete bust. Good luck for him at Bremen.

I'm sure most of the players will leave their clubs if relegated. Alot of Juventus' players could follow Cappello to Madrid. In Italy, probably only Inter and Roma would be able to absorb those players. Trézéguet and Emerson and Toni are all linked to Inter transfers.

The Paris-based anti-racism advocacy group SOS-Racism issued a statement Monday quoting "several very well informed sources from the world of football" as saying Materazzi called Zidane a "dirty terrorist." It demanded that FIFA, soccer's world governing body, investigate and take any appropriate action.

That would be pretty boring then. Noone would be able to touch inter. Would Italy still get 4 Champions League spots? I heard that Toni is also linked to Bayern and Cannavaro to R. Madrid.

That's one possibility. Or as part of the punishment, the teams will be forced to allow the players to leave their contracts at will. We will know soon enough, the judgement is only hours away. Italian football is at the top of the world right now, they'd better not screw it by giving out reduced sentences to all those who are guilty.
