So I got them in about 4 days. Not bad at all. I was just worried it would take weeks. I installed them a couple of days ago and they feel very good. A little more stopping power than before.
Thanks Sean...

Sean, I have a problem... ![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
So, ever since install, I THOUGHT I heard this noise, but I almost always ride with music loud etc. So, yesterday when driving home I thought I heard something weird...like a slap slap slap sound.
Today, when getting on the highway, I was near a wall with no music and was able to REALLY hear it as the sound bounced off the wall. I did some troubleshooting, checking if tires had a nail or something...no, rubbing on fender liner etc...
Finally I pulled the rim off to REALLY hear it and sure enough it wasn't the dust shield or anything else. It's the pad...I'm running an autozone cmax gold ceramic pad (all around actually) and they have a lifetime warranty. They do NOT have a chamferred edge and I THINK that's why it's making this odd noise when spinning. I think the slots/drilled areas on the rotor are making it while the flat edge of the pad is passing over. I guess 1 solution would be to get a grinder and grind a chamfer on there...but I'd rather not have to.
Anyone with OEM's having this issue? Or maybe just didn't notice it? I popped the chamferred powerstop pads in to test and sure enough, it stopped. But what happens when the chamfer is gone from those? Plus, I just spend 55 bucks on those pads.
Watch the vid, please and let me know your thoughts. Obviously there is some sound from the pads making contact, note, that is NOT what I'm talking about...you'll hear the slapping sound pretty clearly on the first rim I spin, both times but especially the second time.
J.
Thanks!

Hey Sean, have you had a chance to rereview my video or my PM?
I swapped out the other rear pads last night and the sound is gone so I'm fairly confident that it is the beveled edge that stops that chopping sound from the slots etc...
BUT, I also checked out the bevel on the powerstop pads and they stop being chamferred roughly 20% into the material (ballparking just from looking at where the bevel stops in relation to the total pad material thickness).
I just want to know if I'm going to have this problem again as I get closer to wearing down. I don't think anyone else is running these rotors with OTHER pads, or they haven't had them long enough to wear it to where it's flat. Otherwise more people may be chiming in.

Unreal shipping...now for the true test of quality
I know people have already said that shipping was amazing...but I ordered rotors/pads for all four corners on monday, and they were here today (thurs) before noon. For a 65 pound package and free shipping, AND for only $145?? Un Real. It almost just doesn't seem right!
I am now just hoping that quality at such a low price is possible; and from what this thread has shown, it is. I am beyond anxious to prove it for myself...![Wish](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wish.gif)
I will be sure to pass on the favor and keep everyone posted on how these work out for me

^^^Awesome...great update!
Slow...I can't believe you're going to let these sit till then.![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Easy install! If you ever swap back, your oem's will still have life in em for trade in?! No, didn't convince you?
Sean, please see my post above.

I have thought about that too, but I live in CT and we actually just got some snow today. So it is better for me to wait until it gets nice and warm. That way my rotors can stay as beautiful as they are in that picture. I also have F&F Type 1 suspension I'm waiting till spring to put on.

what a pain in the ass the front screws were to get off last night! took pb blaster to the back of the threads and sprayed the front even though im sure putting it on the front had nothing to do with helping. Took a p3 screwdriver and hit it into the screw with a BFH! 35 minutes per side just to make sure i didnt strip the damn head off!

These look awesome on compared to the rusty crap I just took off. I live in NE Ohio and I'm sure the rest of this winter will put these thru the ultimate corrosion resistance test. The initial braking feel is excellent.

So I have read a lot about rotor/pad break in. Does anyone have any suggestions on how this set should be treated? I read through this forum a couple weeks ago and don't think I saw anything...
I would post pics but I have stock wheels and they look awful cause theres so much salt on em. Nothing that hasn't been posted already.

Wow...maybe I'm just lucky for being in Florida, hitting the screw heads with a 4# sledge via a impact 1/2 extension was enough to make them all come off easily for me.
jj, thanks man...yeah, for sure, these are gorgeous. I think you would do the traditional process. Just google proper way to bed brake pads.

big time...even for me, my car hasn't seen ANY salt/snow...that little bit of rust on the underside of the head was enough to stop my impact makita gun and impact screwdriver head from getting them out until I hit them with the sledge.

After a month, still happy with my brakes. Good stopping power, although maybeeeee a bit more dust.
Question though.
I installed them with a family mechanic friend, did the bedding process, everything. After a few days, I noticed a sound that came from braking. When I do a medium stop - like anything from slowing down for a turn or exit, I hear a rumbling noise, as if I downshifted and am engine braking to slow down. Any ideas?
Honestly, it kinda sounds cool, but I know something must be up. There is the slightest vibration, almost nothing on the pedal, but it did not used to be there. Thoughts? Still a good deal though!

As far as the sound, I have the same thing but like you said, it sounds like the engine revving as if the car downshifted early (or at least very similar). Like you, It doesn't bother me at all and I don't think it should be anything to worry about. My

I don't know about the rest of you...but I don't think I am hearing what rockstar posted in his vid. The sound I hear is a consistent hum upon pressing the pedal during moderate braking.
Thanks for the update Acuraluvr!
