This is why I don't live there. I got several job offers to move to Irvine where my last company had a big facility...turned them all down because a 10% pay increase (lateral move) does not offset the 30% COL increase.

Soft tops aren't cheap. And of course, oem is 50x the price of aftermarket.
The oem is known to eventually rip. So maybe going aftermarket isn't a bad idea. A friend was considering one but didn't end up going through with it... but it seemed like a legit alternative to oem.
