Lol, good luck man. Rocks don't always fly straight back. I've had plenty come at me from all sorts of angles. Also, what is a safe distance to not get hit? You can't even hear or feel if you're getting hit, half the time.
You're better off waiting a few more months (as painful as it sounds) than end up looking at irreversible rock chips, on a car that's supposed to be a toy only. But hey, your car! Just don't complain after!

Roads are dry, salt doesn't cause rust without water (no oxide). In any case, the salt use around here is pretty low these days. I wouldn't take it out if they were wet anyway, regardless of outside temp.
hell yeah. I'm excited.
I dunno, you always talk about how it gets uber cold and there is eleventy billion feet of snow... So I would assume that your roads see plenty of salt and gravel. At least here it does. I'm too terrified to pull my fun car out until the end of April or start of May
We don't get that much snow, probably a lot less than you but it just gets incredibly cold though. They put down more of some chemical that prevents ice from sticking to the road (it doesn't work well) than salt these days in an effort to prolong the life of roads, bridges, and cars. Salt is used far more sparingly. Also, gravel isn't all that common in the city where the plow infrastructure is really good. It's only put down if it's incredibly cold and icy to the point that salt and the chemical won't work anymore. Otherwise, it's pretty much for rural back roads that they don't plow that often.
I'd be at a moral dilemma cross road if I had warm weather all the time. I mean, it would be friggin' amazing, but then I'd feel guilty driving the toy (not Thoi, sorry) around so much and racking up the mileage on it.
Yeah, I don't really have an argument here. Something something first world problems something.

There are TONS of things to do in the winter around here and most people, myself included, are outside all the time. Just dress for the weather and have fun. Come on up, I'll show you around in the winter time.
Lol, the funny part is that you think that we all just stay inside all winter.

like i said, just fuxing with you
I very much prefer my fairly tepid weather where I can go biking along the coast in the middle of February and it's a sweet 70 degrees out (last Sunday):
I know, I'm actually just jealous.
In any case, I love it here and not sure I'd move out to CA. I'd have to give up a few "toys" in order to move there and I'm not sure I want to do that.

I am considering moving out of CA. Certain ass-backwards legislation and ridiculous cost of living is a big part of it. There are other states with plenty to offer with nice weather and lower cost of living.

Honestly just give it to me and start fresh elsewhere.. It makes more sense
So that shuffling noise in the bushes outside IS YOU!!
Hey, at least I let my parents sleep at the foot of the bed instead of the floor
sup J, haven't seen you in a while!
Hey now, my kid sleeps at the foot of my bed!
He also happens to be a dog but still!

It has been on my list. GF doesn't like how everything is so spaced out, but she doesn't mind SoCal
How volatile is the real estate market in TX? Maybe if I move there I can put a gun rack in my BRZ :yellowneck:
I like SoCal too, but considering there's more population density (almost too much) she likes the idea of living there. Maybe because since has friends down south.
Wouldn't happen anytime soon though.

TX is great. Real estate is steady and growing. I am moving out of my starter home that I built 4 years ago to a bigger home and nice neighborhood. My cousin visited from NY a few weeks back and she is moving down in a couple months.

We're looking to upsize in a few months. Coming up on 6 years in this house & it's just not big enough for 4 of us & my wife's business. Plus, I want a garage big enough to get the F150 in.
Agreed, I'm in N Houston & it's been strong here for the last few years. Definitely more of a seller's market right now.

Ha. I wish. The market has picked up a lot.
And, yeah the market has definitely improved for sellers. We stand to clear around $60k when we sell our house.
I drove the S out today though it was still quite cold in the morning. The tires for sure don't like the cold weather but it'll warm up by lunch time. Every time I drive the thing, I don't want to sell it.

How far out of the city is that?
hahaha this is so true. I paid 275k for a 3 bedroom 1300sqft townhouse and my coworker from Houston told me I was crazy, that we are all crazy for living up here and paying ridiculous amounts for properties.

Come to TX!
