The Official Honda S2000 Thread

The Civic-based ILX has a direct Lexus competitor. It is based on the Corolla. The Civic is Honda's small car. The Corolla is Toyota's.
It used to be called the CT250H. Now its called the HS.
If you were shopping for an entry level Acura and comparing to an entry level Lexus...you'd be comparing ILX to CT/HS.
If you insist on trying to compare an ILX to a Camry-Based ES330:
1.) The K24 ILX is still probably faster.
2.) You argument is the embodiment of my first statement. People NEED to compare Hondas unfairly to other cars in order to "level" the playing field.
You wouldn't compare the CR-V to the LX470 based on offroad capability, towing capacity, and space, would you? No. Because those aren't parallel cars.
To answer your previous post...how is the RLX NOT comparable to Lexus's LS? They're in the same price point, size, market, and segment.
Lexus's and Toyota's lineups are also more vast than those of Honda/Acura.
Honda took the road of collapsing their lineup by mashing the TSX and TL into one car.
Toyota has always offered 7 of basically the same car under a different name. WTF is the difference between a Venza and a Highlander, for example? Idk let me get out my electron microscope.
So its hard to pit one against the other directly. Even when the TSX existed...it was aimed somewhere between the ES and IS.
Was it a FWD mid-size based sedan like the ES? Yes. But it wasn't quite the size or plushness of the ES. Elderly people don't drive TSX's.
At the same time...was it a pseudo-sporty sedan like the IS250? Yes. But it didn't have a V8 or "F" option and it wasn't RWD.
The TL was like a GS. And both cars were probably as quick as each other. But the GS was just a nicer car overall.
What more do you want from me?!!
I guess I'm not sure what you mean.

did you say something like the Porsche GTS RS was a vaporcar? because you sounded like him haha. Calm down dude.
I'm surprised they don't have another minivan called the Anneis...which is different from the Sienna because, while the Sienna comes with optional foglights, the Anneis has a sleek, molded smooth front bumper instead of foglights. But foglights are offered as a dealer-installed option under the same part number as Sienna foglights.
Also, I'm still not sure what you mean by any of this. Porsche? WAT?
Can you explain, though, why a RLX is not paralleled with a LS?
And I am very calm/good looking.

But to answer your question, do you think RLX is parallel with S class or 7 series? If you answer is no, then you just answered your own question.
and btw: do you drive a RDX Elite?
All this discussion got me like
On a another note, I'm on vacation for a few weeks and I'm going to miss driving my S
Rental car is certainly going to be a POS but at least it's manual

And neither the BMW 7 series or the LS truly compare to a S class. My friend's dad had a S63.
The LS also isn't as fast or driver focused as a 7 series. So...huge fail if someone buys a LS to "compete" with a MUCH more expsnsive 7 series. Cmon bru.
LS and RLX are a very direct comparison. I know you don't have the time to explain because you're MAD busy tho.

Acura and Infiniti just dont have enough models to really "compete" head to head with Lexus. But If you REALLY want to know what ILX competes in the real world with Lexus, it is the IS250 or IS200T.
You can make an argument that TLX is in that segment, well that is what happens when you dont have enough model differentiation.
Also more comparable does not mean it is crossed shopped. Tablet is more comparable to a TV than a projector screen, that does not mean Tablet competes in the TV market.
CT/HS is a Lexus Pruis, regardless what platform it is built on, thus, you will not find a lot of ppl cross shop a hybrid and a Lexus with ILX...
RLX is in the same segment as GS, which is kicking RLX's ass.

Competing and winning are not the same thing. you can say LS failed to compete with the S class or 7 series, which is true. But it does not mean they are not competing.
LS was created by Lexus since day 1 to compete with the German flagships that is why it is much, much more expensive than RLX, it is RWD based, different customer base, bigger (almost 10 inches longer), V8, a true flagship car for Lexus (although not a very successful one).
RLX is a V6, accord based, FWD or FWD based, smaller, much cheaper car.
Lastly, S63 is an AMG, unless there is a M7 or LSF, otherwise not the same thing.

YOU brought up the S class and 7 series and asked if the RLX could be compared to them.
No. And neither can the LS.
Ipso facto....the the RLX and LS are two cars one would consider as parallel options.
I'm smarter than I look.
Before we both go to jail for animal cruelty on beating this dead horse.....

It is a fact.. not an opinion that LS, S class,7 series and A8 are in the same segment. LS base starts at 73k and goes all the way up to 130k+
RLX is not, not even close.
you can compare all you want but RLX does not compete with any of those 4, even tho it could only wish.
/end
Everyone just wanted to verbally attack poor Roland

Hey guys, for some reason can't attach a pic of this listing I just saw. No pics in the listing, it's in a local Tampa paper.
Anyway, in case anyone is looking for an S2000 (2005) 16,500 miles. Add says "This car is a beauty!! It's never spent one night out of the garage, and is pristine condition." Asking $22,000
I don't know if I should post the phone number? But feel free to PM me and I'll pass it along. It is in the tbt free paper, tampabay.com. Under automobiles for sale, one could view this online!
Just Lookin out for anyone interested.
I do not know this person, and am not affiliated in any way.
No color listed either.

There's one in GA on autotrader now. White/half red. 68K miles. 2007. $19.6k. Also owned in SC and NC and GA. I told my friend to buy it because it's a DEAL. But...he's probably gonna not do it.
i was going to offer $21 for the car based on the kbb and carfax values given

Roland, they are tagging on a bunch of stuff. Playing games with someone that agreed on selling price, gave deposit and bought a plane ticket. I hate that sort of fuckery.
Does a dealership have to honor the online price? Looks like they forgot to put a 2 in front

Weird. They seemed fairly straight up with my friend. They said they are a nationwide dealer...so they offered to transfer it to him in CA. Eh. Maybe because he's famous lol.
