it gets controversial.
i removed the two 5mph re-bar bumpers. they weigh about 15lbs each.
they are 5mph bumpers and are not meant for impacts that are greater than 5mph.
some say; these bars are crucial to impacts but these are in fact 5mph bumpers and wont help with anything faster than 5mph

I also removed my spare and its associated tools. If I get a flat, I have the car towed to my house via insurance. I do put the spare back in for road trips

theres a couple of weights throughout the car, one in the trunk. allows a smooth "pop" up of the trunk. with it gone, the trunk swings wildly.

those are the big ones i can think of right now, there's a bunch of small stuff that I didnt need in my car that I took out

from the factory the weight distribution is 60/40.
by removing weight throughout the car, you generally push that distribution closer to a balanced car.

losing weight yourself isnt a bad idea either.
i lost 25lbs.

aftermarket exhaust is also a big weight saver.

and if I have the $$, i'd probably do a two piece rotor set up, dropping rotational mass EVEN more

But Justin

What if someone rear ends you going 5 mph or less without those bars on? They could DIE. Think of the children.

Or, if someone rear ends you, you could make a bigger claim as your car would look fubar

If they ask about the missing re-bar....

^they always ask about the missing rebar. this is my 2nd insurance claim.
each time, "hey do you know that its missing?"

it all gets covered and I end up getting brand new parts for the amount of my deductible.

I think eventually the k-series will be faded out.. Their earth dreams motors are their new shit.. Just like when the itr and ctr first got the k20.. The k motors are close to 15 year old technology still running strong... But they r already testing an ilx with one of the new turbo motors, I think it's the 1.5L they r testing though

What's your answer to the missing rebar if you don't mind me asking? Just curious is all. My insurance company is pretty anal over anything and everything.

The same answer as to whether Acura will use the new twin turbo J35 engines outside of racing.

it hasnt been an issue for me.
see what I mean by "controversial"

and my shop deals with the insurance company. my shop will bat for me no matter what..
So, all I do is call it in...
shop goes over car with me and mentions it...
then insurance went over car with me...didnt mention anything

Yeah I guess if your shop is aware it won't be an issue.

What has your car been in the shop for? collisions?

while my driving isnt in question.......
I have a problem with alcohol and driving.
both times that Ive "kissed" the curb were while I was drunk.
I am being publicly open about it because I want it to stop.
there is no reason to get behind the wheel "tipsy"

How can you access the settings from the MID? I know you have to be in accessory position, not sure which buttons you have to push after that, up and down arrows didn't do anything...

Try holding the up arrow? It should be the button with the information icon on it (the "I" icon).

From the manual:
Press and hold the (up or down arrow) button for a few seconds while the ignition switch is in ON (which is II, not Accessory (I)).

Try again bud

EDIT: If your car is AT, make sure your tranny is in Park. If your car is MT, make sure your parking brake is set.

I had a feeling I was in the wrong on position. I was in (I) when I tried...

Thanks man! I should go do it right now. The lock setup is so annoying right now. It only unlocks the driver door, I usually have stuff in the backseat and I always have to unlock the door before I can get in.

Haha. I need to stop being so lazy. The manual was literally right next to me in my room and I just flipped through to see if I could find it. Took less than a minute...page 80 lol.

You'll learn your lesson once you catch a DUI and have to go through all the bullshit (like me). You never realize how valuable your license is until you lose it. Depending on others fucking sucks!

So the new American F1 team is going to be called "Haas Formula".

Everyone is already laughing at how every country other than USA is going to pronounce it as "ass".

The american ass team!
The ass driver!
That ass team!

the 225/45/18 are the accessory wheel specs

the v6 wheel specs are the ones that ryan posted a while back.
