Can I run Max Performance Summer tires, specifically a set of Pirelli P Zero Rossos all year round?

you live in houston, where we only have 2 seasons. Summer and Summer.

the rubber compound is different in summer tires than an all season tire. the rubber likes heat.

i run summer tires year long, however, they dont last long.
so, by the time winter rolls around, im running them close to being bald and the rubber already doesnt like the cold, so it gets scary at times. cold pavement and bald summer tires = no traction

this gets expensive because I end up buying Summer tires, yearly.

SIGH

Ferrari's F1 team replaced their Team Principal with a guy who is best known for being an awesome car sales manager. No F1 or racing experience at all. This is prob just as bad as Honda's management lol.

You realize that a lot of tyres are cheaper than the OEM Michelins, right?

Well i figured any decent performance tyre would cost a lot more but I guess not.
I've never changed wheels / tyres with anything other than stock before.

The pilots are pretty bad imo. They suck in the rain and aren't all that great in the dry either.

Coming from a 2009 Altima with continetals that are near the end of their life, the Pilots are amazing lol. Haven't driven in much wet water. They handle decent and are quite so I'm happy.

Are the Primacys better then the:
Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105 (Ultra High Performance All Season)
Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position (Ultra High Performance All Season) ?

Because they MXM4's are actually more expensive then both.

the thing is, there is no set standard. "ultra high super performance" yada yada....

there isnt a set standard for tire wear ratings either. one tire manufactures 400 tread wear is different from another tire manufactures 400 tread wear, because each company might use a different compound of rubber

comparing tires is very hard.

Gotcha.

I just need a set for around ~600 that I can use year-around, and aren't worse then the MXM4's.

i would choose either of those two tires over the MXM4's.

it's really hard trying to find a tire that fits all or most of your requirements.
I'm trying to find an all season for my Kia Sportage...i hate the stock tires, which are Hankook Optimo.
I dont need "performance all season" to say, but I would like more traction for stopping than these Optimos.

Potenza pole position s-04's, I've had hankook ventus, bf Goodrich g-force, stockie michelins (which I rate on the bottom of all), overpriced conti's and many different types of potenzas and I have to say these pole positions have been my fav. Decent tire life, very quiet high speed highway driving, great grip and smooth ride.. Decent in rainy days too for here in orlando but when that pavement is hot these tires grip!!

Fork the extra for the s-04's trust me, unless Bridgestone has drastically changed their "re" series tires (my 04' wrx came stock with re-92's and I rate them the worst out of the potenzas I've ran) I would definitely get the s04's.

Driving around today and i saw a TSX with hood vents like the ones OPboarding posted... and another TSX which had some ricy autozone LED strip on the front.

I guess the TSX is becoming a little too cheap... :/

For some reason, ever since I got my TSX all I see on the roads now are BMW's. 1, 3, 5 and 7 series. Passed by and M5 on the way home.

That or former TSX owners have moved on from their leases.

Rolled down my window at a stop light and told a middle aged woman I liked her TSX. We then talked for a minute about how Acura was awesome and about the new TLX coming out.

This was in the hoity toity area by my office where being friendly with strangers is very un-Dallas like. We had a moment.
