I dont want to have it packed the same way. Shit was way weak. I would never send someone something like that.

Anyways...i think ill just box up the Mufflers, and just wrap the mid and y pipe like he had. If they fuck up 403 Stainless as thick as this...they are doing some bad shipping.

On a sad note...with this...my ATLP Quads are off the car. I wouldnt be surprised if i never get a another exhaust of this quality.

I see ^

So i opened my door to Headlights in a box. Its sad that UPS cant even ring a door bell or knock....just leaves it on the door step and bounces.

Anyways, after The Soup is over im gonna go swap those out to take them to be shipped out along with the ATLP exhaust.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

Didnt realize that the dude swapping headlights with me is from Canada.

Well Min might know this....but CA TL's dont have fog lights, they have DRL's and of course they are a just a tad bit smaller that the US fog lights.

So his DRLs fit in my fog socket, but not vice versa. So i got to bust out the trusty dremel and shave down my bulb socket.

Why am i working on my car at 11:40 anyways???

Yeah, you're up pretty late working on the car.

Kyle, it's sad to see you part our your TL. It was a sweet car. Have you made up your mind on what you'll get once you sell it? I remember you writing about a Chevy Blazer. How about a 1st gen MDX?

Man, went home the wrong night. Just got caught up in that I5 closure. I ended up puttin it in reverse and backed up bout a half mile back to the 205 exit then took 99 to my parent's house. But I moved like maybe .1 miles on a half hour. Apparently a ped got hit but I dunno how the eff a ped gets hit on the freeway. He either wanted to get hit or some doofus wasn't paying attention.

I saw that on the news last night. We got home late after my son's football game at Parkrose HS, so we were driving 26 > 405 > 84 and back. We won! But looked like that backup on I-5 was really bad due to that pedestrian getting hit. I haven't heard anything more on what happened. How long was your total drive?

Toooooo soft and "washy" on the road. I Hate it.
Took my ATLP off yesterday as well. Hate that as well, car is too quiet...cant even tell if its running.
I had forgotten how much I had made my car into what i wanted, and how far away from stock it was.

Thats odd about the noise in the brakes...
Do you still have the set screws in them?

Well my parents live in Woodburn so that drive is usually about 25 mins. But it took me that long to get from about 289 to 288. I was right over 205 on I5 when I decided I wasn't gonna wait any longer so I started backing up until I got back to the 205 exit. Then I took Willamette Falls to Oregon Shitty to Hwy 99 to Woodburn. That whole detour took about an hour. I left my apt at about 10 and didn't get to my parent's til midnight.

Bummer that it took more than 4 times the amount of time to get to your destination, but luckily you were able to get around it. I wonder how long it took people to get where they were going if they couldn't exit off?

BTW, my new tranny is working great. I've stepped on it a couple of times and it downshifts quickly and crisply. It's good having this 3 year warranty, so if it fails again, Acura can just replace it!

Well it closed for two hours..til about 12:30 I believe. Then by the time things got moving again people prob didn't even pass the 205 interchange til 1AM!

Haha..getting around it tho wasn't easy. As I was backing up I passed a semi that was hugging the shoulder and had to fold my driver's mirror in so I wouldn't hit him..LOL It was pretty funny cuz people just kept looking back and laughing. Oh well..at least I wasn't stuck in it for hours like the rest of those losers. I wouldn't have made it home til about 1:30 if I had toughed it out.

Man, I wonder what a new tranny would feel like. Mine downshifts quickly and everything but boy does it like jerking into 2 and 3. Gets better after I've been driving for a while but in the mornings, it feels like it just slams into 3 even in light throttle. I'm trying to take care of the tranny as much as possible so 3 qt drain next week. Warranty protection is nice. I wish I still had some

I dont think my tranny is too smooth, I'm at 91k miles, I'm going to squeeze a check up around 100k and tell them its not so smooth, I dont know, really paranoid about it. I dont want to spend my savings on a tranny that would be half the price of the car.

yea set screws are in place. didn't touched anything other than taking out spacers. these ebc rotors are acting up differently ever since turning them over.

was thinking about racing brake's 2piece rotors but they cost little over $700 for the fronts only with the pads

everytime i watch blazers game, i can see that their play isn't settled down yet. once players/coach figures out the right combination, it'll be one heck of a team. but problem is how soon this will happen.

well nate is a stupid coach so it might take a while. He cant decide which pg to use, so until then, we will be a shakey team.

Think i may have found the TL replacement.

Down the road is a 2001 Land Rover Discovery SE

Has 83k miles on it, and the asking price is $7900.

I know i know...Land Rover = $$$$$ To maintain.

I think ill talk them down a bit on the price. Its been on the lot for a while.

The good thing is, its OBDII so i can take my scanner with me and scan it right on the lot, and hopefully it has all the service records with it.

Rover Link

I feel that its the only SUV i can get into for the price that still has most of the features as the TL.

And hopefully with the money i save, ill get a extended warranty through AAA to cover costs if anything goes tits up.

as long as you realize that land rover has reptededly made the most unreliable vehicles on the road list by consumer reports for years on end then I say go for it.

Why not like a honda CRV, Toyota Rav 4, first-gen MDX, first-gen pilot? Seems you didn't want your acura anymore because it was hard to maintain and a pain to drive which all sounds like reliability
lol So why buy an SUV that is destine to break down and you won't be able to drive it either as long as it's in the shop... Just my .02 and I'll shup up now

I was going to suggest a 1G MDX too. Maybe you can talk this guy down to mid-$8K: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/1447159780.html

I'm going with the census and have to say no to the rover. My co worker picked one up may of last year, an 2001 range rover. It is currently not running, he picked it up at 8x,xxx miles. This is not including that the power windows crapped out, the a/c crapped out, the navigation never worked, so many things went wrong. At first he could fix them but after a while it got out of controll. Now he is stuck with a car that doesnt run and a monthly loan payment and hates rovers. But he did have some cool pictures climbing rocks and mountains. MDX all the way

Kyle, if you want a rig that'll go anywhere and is pretty cheap, go for a 80-series Landcruiser/LX450: front, rear, and center locking diffs, solid axles and built-in-Japan Toyota build quality. I loved my '97 LX450, but it was a gas hog, 13mpg. That rig would go anywhere and never had a problem for the 3 years I had it.

From what ive read online some get lucky and some dont.

The durability of them is top notch when they are running right. I was kicking around the idea of using some of the money I save to get a extended warranty so if something does crap out, I wont be up the creek.

Idk, I got spoiled with the TL, and now i dont want to just jump into a SUV with a steering wheel, bland stereo and 4 wheels.

The Rover has everything im looking for on the inside, but like everyone has said im nervous about reliability.

I guess i go back to the drawing board.

hell no to the rover for sure. its very nice suv if its reliable. i'd say over 100k mdx or pilot will last longer than 80k rover without drama. our '02 cr-v is about to clock 180k and its been trouble free other than normal wear and tear stuffs.

Another vote of NO on the LR. A coworker bought one about 2yrs ago in pristine condition and less then 30k on the odo. I believe it was a 03/04 model and drove great when he let me drive it. Well about 3wks after he got it, the ujoint failed and dropped the drive shaft on his way to work and i had to go pick his ass up.

I dont know, the more i think about it. The better it sounds.

Any car will have its problems no matter what i get. Im gonna continue to research problems people have on Rovers. I just gotta remember that ill only ever hear the bad about a car.

With proper maint. and servicing it should be just fine.

As for MDX, i just dont see myself driving one. Its too "fuu fuu" of a suv to me that i cant see driving around the back country to go camping.

So idk...ill keep my eyes open for something.

Consider a late model Toyota 4Runner. It's "masculine" and can go anywhere and has Toyota reliability.

and before you go calling MDX's foo foo: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2058702

I was gonna say 4Runner as well..great for the back country but still has a rugged look. Just don't lift it a story off the ground like the idiot down the street from me..

Ha, you mistook what i said. And your MDX proves my point. Its a great SUV for driving on paved roads. There is a reason you never see lifted MdX's on mud boggers lol.

4Runners are on the list as well, but i dont want to look like a highschooler as i drive around. And the newer ones have there problems just as expected with them.

Finding a new car sucks so much ass. Why cant i just come home from deployment again and throw money at a car that is really good????
