Has anyone replaced their stock foglights with HID's? I'm looking to do this, but unsure of how it will turn out...

Jorge - I picked up a set of the Hoens for my fogs and was NOT impressed. They were almost identical to my stock fog lights, but were less bright and did not match.

I've seen a few in person, but never have attempted it myself so I can't really comment on how hard it is. The HID fogs looked pretty cool, but for my personal taste they were a bit too bright.

Just put the deposit down for the RV6 true dual exhaust. Now the waiting begins until the next batch is ready to be shipped.

Now I'll have to go ahead and order the RV6 J-pipe as well.

Geez these Fall/Winter months get expensive! LOL! Can't wait though....should sound pretty sweet.

I thought you did not like to have a loud exhaust. I heard loud was not your taste.

On my 04 I installed a set of hoens and when I had my HID's on they were the same color they are never goin to be as bright as the HID but the color should be the same.

There's a difference between a nice growl and just plain loud like yours! I don't necessarily want people to hear me starting up my car 5 miles away!

I swear sometimes I can hear you going down your street, and I'm all the way down here in Rochester!!

Now that is funny:gheyfight:
My exhaust is not as loud as you exagerated. A good perfomance exhaust does no have growl, dogs growl. That's why F1 race cars are loud. they are not a growl maker
Don't be just like the people here that buy an exhaust thinking it won,t be loud and a month later they have it up for sale in the Black market because it hurts there Virgin hears I suggest don't put a J-pipe you might not be able to handle all that noisy performance.

I would have to adjust it so that the cut off for the fog lights had minimal overlap with my headlights.. Not sure what's all involved in the process, but it's something I'd like to look into

Well, I was supposed to buy an exhaust setup from one of the guys on here, but he never got back to me.. or anyone else who was supposed to buy stuff from him for that matter

Mine were pretty much the same as my stock lights.. Maybe I got a bad batch? Either way, I'm going to look into HID's for my fogs, at least give it a chance..

I'm pretty sure I've heard my stomach growl on more than one occasion so technically dogs aren't the only things that growl. Jorge your exhaust is loud I'm glad I didn't listen to you and change mine a 2500 mile road trip with the amount of noise your car makes would have driven me crazy.

OK so The year before last we had a guy with a Type-S that did this to his fogs. he installed a HID kit that came with a set of ballast and I belief it was simple almost a plug and play kit. I will see if I have the Email still.

Hid kits are the easiest things to install. Ballasts, bulbs, and a wire harness.
Wire harness connects to your drivers side stock harness, ballasts connect to the wire harness and to the hid bulb, wire harness run to the positive and negative posts on your battery. Don't buy from DDM, horrible customer service, shitty products. The retrofit source is the place to go

Yeah, I know they're simple, just never done it to fogs, and I've heard stories of people melting ballasts when they put an HID kit in their foglights, so I figured I'd check with you guys first

I'm just looking to do a different projector set up. All you'll need is a wire harness and ballasts.

The ballasts melting is probably because they aren't using a relay harness. The additional wire harness is an absolute must when doing hid kits

You fogs are yellow the reason why he wants HID is because he wants the fogs to match his HID headlights.

Well with the threat of snow I finally put the snow tires on the car yesterday. I also have an appt to have the alternator looked at on Monday as it howls quite loudly in the cold. Oh Jorge it may interest you to know that the Howard Johnson in Austin, TX for next years F1 dates currently has rooms available from $48.00 a night. I have already made my booking and the rooms are refundable if you desided you can't go later. Also know this isn't a high end fancy hotel the reviews of it are pretty poor but other hotels including the one I stayed at this year have prices in excess of $200.00 per night already.

How's it going guys. I see you got pretty hard by the storm this past weekend. I was down for the vikings game yesterday and it was horrible. We go down once a year with my gf's work. She's a bartender at our local bar. It took us 5 hours to get home last night which usually is only a two hour drive. Longest drive in the world with a bunch of drunks lol.
Anyways, got my car back from the shop last week. New bumper, I bought the front aspec lip to complete the A-spec kit, Finally! I got a new headlight and refinished hood. I still got to keep my modded headlights and i'm going to be sending those back to Rich at HIDIllusionz to fix the alignment of the morimotos. I'm going to start my new headlight project. I already ordered a pair of S2000 ap1 projectors. Pretty excited to have an OEM pair of projectors to go along with the TL's. I'll be making a build thread for this project. I'll be able to take my time with this build now that I have an extra set of headlights. Hope all is well.

My Lil Sisters new ride

Just got my Lil sister a 07 G35 RWD 18" staggered, navi, 50K for $17,500K. Driving her down to phoenix next week. She just got her 1st job at intel as a software engineer. Its about 1,800 miles. Hopefully kicking in the new years with friends at Vegas. Tried to get her a 08 type S, not to many and were a little more expensive.

So who's in to come down to Rochester and help me take my headlights out?? I want JnC to do some work on them.

Maybe some free BWW as an incentive!

Looking at the possibility of doing the ZKW lens swap, adding the CF inlays, and then V2 blacked out option.

No major mods over at my end, I'm currently in the process of giving my engine bay a a make over . Other than that, I'm getting Lasik done. So I'll have to hold off on other mods for a bit. I hope all you guys have a great Christmas & a "Happy New Years."
-David.
