the only good thing about that kit is the mold it'll make. that's it, apparently the turbo is crap, piping as weak and shit doesnt fit right. there's a lot of talk about it on the 2nd gen forum.

 

Considering that a stock turbo costs in the $700 range, and an intercooler is in the $500 range, I'm not guessing that it's going to be high-quality stuff.

 

yeah i'm having second thoughts. rims for now... SC/TC someday in the future.

That's what I was worried about - those clips must have some sort of adjustment to them to keep them flush, because mine is actually clipped on. The first attempt the guy didnt have it clipped and I could see like 1/2 inch of it. Now it's just abotu an eighth of an inch, but it's not just something I can push more.

 

Nah, I never have time to go on the dyno day weekends so one quiet afternoon I just drove over there during lunch break from work and got it done quick. Actually it was $85. I should have went during their fast and furious movie discount lol.

 

So you going to get the Evo X now? Then you'll really have to come out to the auto-x to see how it goes. There is already going to be at least one Evo X out there this season, so you guys could get together and talk about how to go fast. From what I remember, the guy that owns it is pretty damn fast already.

Adam, does some awesome photography, I had him do a shoot with my Stratus R/T before he moved out to Cali. The new Evo looks awesome.

 

i dunno why, but i just don't like the direction cars designs are going in general..
like for some family oriented cars its cool and makes sense.. but cars like the evo, wrx, tl etc etc are all beginning to look more and more, not necessarily alike, but are all rounded off corners, and remind me more and more of like a camery.
the evo, the wrx, they are supposed to be sexy and like hardcore awesome.. make you think it is a beast that just rips. instead everything is looking more and more family friendly.. i feel like automakers have taken a step back.. and yeah i know, aerodynamics and bigger or stronger engines, but the car as a whole doesn't have the same effect as it slowly looks more and more like just some other car.

and the tl.. 2g tl, awesome. 3g tl, amazingly awesome, 4g tl.. wtff?!?! sure, it finally got awd, but i don't see why the car had to be made ass ugly to do so.. the 3g was beautiful, and this 4g looks nothing like it and is a big stupid face.

thats my rant. great day outside, gunna try to enjoy it before work.

I know they softened up the STi in an effort to appeal to a broader audience, and I think that is what you see. Companies have seen that there is interest in these cars, so they decided to open them up a bit to make them appeal to a wider audience in an attempt to sell more of them and make more money.

Part of it is aerodynamics, part of it is economics.

 

Haha...that's exactly why I like the look of the new EVO. It doesn't have that really aggressive tuner car look anymore. (Which I also like) But I agree, I don't like the direction in the looks department of the new Acuras. It's like windows Vista lol. I hope they get a facelift soon.

I never thought this about the previous EVOs but if I ever do lose the TL buy a brand new car and make payments, it'd probably be an Evo X. (Or maybe just the new ralliart)

erg. damn photoshop won't install and gimp doesn't work, it's like some sort of loophole.. you gotta have leopard to run one program, but one program only runs for tiger, and i have tiger, and so i download gimp for tiger, but i need x11, a leopard program, which can't work on tiger.... wtf?!?!

 

X11 is not a Leopard program, it is the UI for all Mac machines out there. Mac runs on a flavor of BSD, and X11 is the Apple version of the windows manager. You should be able to get to X11 from your Utilities section of your Applications folder, if not, download it from the developer section of the Apple website. You will be able to find a version that works with Tiger.

nothing much cuzz, yeah today is fortunately payday for me but not sure if I will pick these up or not.....seriously thinking about it but not sure....kind of want to stick to OEM but I need new tires anyways.....so I was thinking why not just look for a good deal with rims too. Car is running good and strong still. I was looking for a newer TL, found a couple around 15k....thinking about it too but not sure. Will keep you guys updated.

Man, I saw my first new TL on the road today, and it was prolly helped by the fact that it was silver, but I didn't think it looked that bad. I really liked the tail, and the front end didn't look too bad head on, but it still looked like butt from the side.

 

i was in uptown minneapolis yesterday, saw like 4 of those. they dont look bad in person. but they were all silver, which helped mask the giant chrome trims
