Josh's painted interior is sexy. Check out my freshly painted grill piece for those who haven't seen it. Also sexy.

definitely suspension. I'm not entirely familiar with the J-pipe upgrade for the 3g what kind of gains does it give you? Is it the type-s j-pipe?

it's the aftermarket J-pipe for the 3g...if i'm not mistaken it give about 7-10whp and 10-15 lb-ft torque on a stock TL. It's priced @ $344 shipped. seems like a damn good price. I'm looking at the Aspec because i dont want to end up needing a camber kit in long run.

Cool. I'd still do suspension first. If you don't feel like shelling out for the A Spec there are aftermarket suspensions you can run without needing a camber kit. Tein H-Tech comes to mind for springs - it will give about a 1 inch drop all around and will likely be cheaper than the A spec.

The Teins might even give you the same ride quality as the A-Spec.

Dan and I are finding out pretty quickly that even if you add HP, you may not be able to use it very well. Neither of us can really get the tires to hook up when we try to launch. My car spins the tires in 3rd gear.

I was thinking about doing the Innovative engine mounts, at least the front and side. People are saying they help a ton with wheel hop and getting the power down. Pricey though, but it might be worth it.

I dunno if I completely buy the vid. Somethings up if you ask me. Either he is underestimating his car, overestimating his buddies cars, or they went easy on him.

203whp 151tq Civic vs 400whp supra (and smokes him) vs 380hp Evo (barely gets a car length on him) vs 240hp 240sx (and barely gets a car on him too).

Then there is the trans-am. That one was expected that he was gonna win. Those damn cars are slow.

So why is this car with supposedly 203 hp smoking a supra, when it can barely keep up with a 240sx? The cars can't be that much difference in weight (although his little matchbox civic can't weight more than the engine and tranny itself).

Not that I would ever strip all of the luxury out of my car for some weight reduction - but I wonder what I could do to make my exhaust sound like that? Just wondering - cause then I know what not to do.

Don't buy a muffler at autozone or a gas station for starters.

I asked him that, and he is getting his car painted this weekend. Although, I think he is just worried now - since we saw the video and know whats up with Trans Ams.

Yes it looks like all he has is the milk crate he is sitting on. I had a 1986 Supra and I garantee you he would not smoke a supra, unless he is on nitris. So the theory is if you take enough weight of and do simple mods like exhauts which you can hear in the video. You could be fast but then againt your car does not have even a cigarette lighter because of the weight to speed ratio

I think I'm gonna pass this round - Little tight on money, and I haven't done enough to my car to justify "seeing" the extra few ponies under the hood from the intake.

Unless something changes - I will just be along for the ride.

Hey Luke - where do you have to drop your car off to get painted? It's your college buddy isn't it? Let me know if you're bored this weekend and maybe we can get together. Maybe we can dyno your Blazer - see what that 6" exhaust is doing for you. Maybe that will be my next mod...lol

Thanks Jermaine (sp?), appreciate that...

Glow, what's up? You were going to buy a $3500 supercharger but can't swing a $50 dyno run? Come on, at the very least you will get a good baseline for when you start adding shit on!

True True (listen for the sound of budweiser frogs... you hear em?)

Yeah, I probably will. That was my weak ass attempt at not spending any money. So where are we all going out to eat anyways? I'm not sure of anything in the Elk River area (Since you have to go through Coon Rapids to get to elk river - I usually just pick a place that's close to home)

I think it should be OK. I wonder though how many people goto these things? It says there has to be more than 25, but 40 max. This doesn't seem to be that much of a margin if you ask me.

Looking at the web site, they have a picture of the dyno stall - and the car in there definately don't look american to me. Think it's a supra maybe?

Anyone have any idear where this place is? I know it's on 10, and in Elk River - but I'm not familiar with it. Heck - I've probably driven by it a hundred times. Maybe I'll have to look a little closer tomorrow when I goto Becker in search of a not-3000k message chair for my house.

HOM left me with a scared wallet when I was there. I figure Becker can console it a bit. Not to mention I already have a Becker card from when I bought my furniture last time. Much faster to look up my card number than it is to sign up for financing again.

P.S. - No smartass comments about how I should use my GPS too. It would be like me telling you guys someplace that was on University. Big road, and find the right reference point - I'm sure I could find it with my eyes closed (or use GPS.... damn you guys)

If you are referring to the yellow car, I believe that it is a Supra. The Rx-7 had pop-up headlights.

If you are talking about the white truck, then it is a Chevy 1500 step side.
