Ive Been Tweetered
Did Tweeter handle getting AC power to the TV or did you have to hire an electrician for that? How is the power supplied? Is there an outlet right behind the TV or did they drop the power cord down the wall?

So...Um....Anyone know if this stuff will work in Ireland? I asked some people over there and they said that if the TV does PAL, then it should work (I would need a power converter). How do I find out if it does PAL?
I think HD here is HD there. However the old standard def stuff here is NTSC, there PAL. Your built in tuner will definitely not handle that.
You should ask over at the AVS Forum, perhaps if you use a box from the cable company everything will work.

HD is HD....
But you should be fine with just a plug adapter, or converter, whichever you need.
Our TV, when living in germany, worked just fine. As long as you stick with regions 1 DVDs (most likely mail order, etc) you can avoiding investing any money into PAL products.

Another thought is:
-Hook a Slingbox up to my parents cable box.
-Buy a Media Center PC
-Watch American TV in Europe.
