Tried out a new finish on the white oak tops for the nightstands and holy shit is it awesome. Look at this sheen after two coats in two hours! I added one more after this to even everything out and it fucking shines and is perfect without any streaks, runs, drips, etc. It's more expensive than your typical poly but it's 1000% worth every penny for the results you get!
Gah I've been horrible, sorry @thoiboi I've been super busy the past few weeks. Here are the shots of the finished cutting board! I'll get this out in the mail sometime this week.
Pics of night stands inbound soon. I just have to finish the leather handle pulls.
I'll be starting to mill lumber for my most important project ever tonight. Baby crib project starts today!
As 00TL said not sure I have a cabinet big enough for that. If it did fit in our cabinet for cutting boards and cooking racks it would take up almost the entire space.
It definitely does not fit in any of my cabinets lol. It's nearly as long as the countertop on top of the cabinet so not a snowball's chance it's going inside.
Started building the baby crib over the week. Unlike other cribs, this one showed up as a pile of rough sawn walnut, puts Ikea to shame. A bit further along than this now but here's a preview shot. I've got all of the rails and stiles cut and milled to size, now I'm going through and sanding till my hands go numb before I cut the dominoes to hold it all together. Tomorrow I'll continue sanding and mill up the spindles. Once that's all done, I can get everything cut to final size, round over the edges, and start assembly! ...and more sanding. Whole thing will be solid walnut with two accenting painted panels on the ends. It'll be heavy AF.
First crib rail glued up. Next one tonight, can only do one at a time because I need more clamps.
Also, bless the domino. My kid's crib would be put together with pocket holes if it wasn't for this magic machine. I don't have the patience to manual M/T joints.
Where do you store your clamps when not using them? I have not created a great way to get my 4 out of the way. I understand not having enough clamps after trying to glue up my large panels for my TV cabinet with only 3. I definitely should have had at least 5.

Confucius say: The number of clamps you need for any given project is one more than the number of clamps that you own.
I have a super high tech and complicated way of storing my clamps. Not sure that you'll be able to replicate it but I'll go out and take a picture and post it later.

That works well. Been thinking of building something like that to mount on my slat wall in the garage. The problem is if for any reason they would fall it would be a huge dent in the car door. Maybe better off building on on the pegboard wall above the work bench.
On the home stretch with this guy! Got the main assembly completed, the long rails sanded and ready for finish. The short end pieces are assembled and need round overs on all the edges and a final sand. Before I do that, I need to attach the legs to the ends...and before that I need to mill the legs.
