What are you using to make the crib able to break down for moving?

Do you mean the cardboard on the ground? That's just to make sure the bottom doesn't get scuffed up by the concrete floor that's dirty AF.

There are four screws in each end panel that hold them on to the side rails. The whole thing comes apart with 8 screws.

No, the green paper on the ends. Are the fields already finished?

Oh! No, those are painted panels. It's not craft paper.

My original design had the entire thing made out of walnut but it just looked too boring and monotone. We're making a bunch of things for the baby in that darker dull green color so this was made to match. They are painted plywood panels with walnut edging on either side.

...and it's finally done. Last coat of finish was applied last night. I unfortunately can't actually assemble it yet because the wife now wants to paint the stupid room and I know how she does with paint. So instead of a finished assembly, here's the last long rail all finished up.

Shame you aren't closer, might've commissioned a crib for #3.

And we're done. Put this thing together yesterday and it turned out awesome. I just need to mount the mattress support rails and drop the mattress in.

I also started working on the rocking chair, got the seat bottom completed yesterday. All the parts are cut out for the seat back, just need to cut dominoes and glue together this evening. This one will be made out of solid cherry.

Rocking chair seat complete, just ready for final sanding. Legs are rough cut, jointed, and planed. Will do final cut and template route today/tomorrow.

I bought the name brand stuff, should be good to go.

If not, the 4 8x50mm dominoes and epoxy fill should take care of the rest.

Progress though, I finished template routing the arms/legs yesterday. I need to set up the cut jigs to cut the joints tonight and hope to get the leg assemblies glued up today if possible! Also, routers scare the shit out of me, I hate using them.

Update time. This chair is just about done. The final finish is going on tonight and I'll bring it inside tomorrow evening after everything has cured. Then I'll attach the seat to the base, designed to be moved in two pieces, and it'll be done!

Legs glued up. This glue up was a bitch due to all the weird angles.

Mocked up for attaching stretchers, also making sure the damn thing fits.

Finish going on. Satin Osmo Polyx pigmented finish. Legs are cherry, stretchers are made out of leopardwood that I had sitting around. Thought it would make for a nice contrast to the monotony of the cherry.

Wow, that looks really good. Not that I expect anything less from you. Really like the modern designed rocker/arm combo.

Sexy as hell, is the back going to be adjustable?
Might be too far back for breastfeeding comfortably.

Thanks gents. The back is not adjustable but that's not the final resting spot of the seat, it was just mocked up in that picture. Wife sat in it for the first time yesterday and didn't think it was too far back so hopefully good there... Here are the final shots from the shop, more beauty shots of this and the crib to come hopefully this weekend.

In full disclosure, this isn't my design. I bought a set of plans to make this so I can't take credit for the design.

Right, thanks for being as transparent as urethane varnish...
but I could see a drawing of it and still end up making something like this.
