You are a true master of your craft.
I imagine you end up at this level at anything you put your mind to.

I aspire to reach those levels but alas, I end up being more of a jack off all trades.

I certainly try but most of the time I don't get there before I get bored. This is one of the few activities that has made it for several years without a real sign of slowing down.

Dude, you do way more car work than I could every hope to do and much faster. You're at the same level, just in different things.

Thanks brosef. The legs are welded metal in brushed/raw finish. They're like an H shape, I'll post pics when they arrive.

You want an end grain board that big? It's gonna be expensive AF lol.

What do you plan on using it for?

I generally make all of mine about 18"x10"x1.125". The thing I've found though is that most people really don't care about end grain vs edge grain and, as such, don't want to pay the rather large premium for the end grain variety. The vast majority of what I sell now is edge grain which, IMO, is every bit as good as end grain as a cutting board and cheaper to make. The one I personally use myself at home is edge grain and it's been more than fine after ~3 years of regular use.

I have two end grain boards in the works right now just because I had the scraps to make them. I wouldn't go out of my way to make new ones unless specifically requested like you did.

Doing the math really quick on your request, something of that size would be ~$150. An edge grain of similar size would be half that.

Can you do thicker than 1.125"? Thinking closer to 2 would be swell

Are you branding your stuff yet? I want mine to say "OEMish KING" on it so I can tell all my friends

I can do whatever you want, that's just my standard.

No, not branding stuff yet but the CNC can certainly engrave anything your heart desires into it. I was thinking of putting "should have bought that S2000" into it. Thoughts?

I might jump on board for some hot wood too.
Those cutting boards are fucking amazing and to have one from the OG artist before he
died and got notoriety would be tits.

Thanks for the compliment too, Sam. I appreciate it. Maybe one day we can skype each other while
we use our new pressure washer attachments to blow out our undercarriages.

Tell me about it... I had one or two more projects I really wanted to get done and had to turn down a slab desk opportunity because of the weather. The good news is that the CNC work will continue through the winter (hopefully).

Let me know man, it'll have to be next year for any requests that aren't CNC related things. I'm going to get into making Christmas ornaments and things like that in the next week or so since the CNC doesn't care about working in the cold lol. The Jeep keychain is most definitely in the works.

Why shut down in the winter? Does a space heater not warm you enough or is there an issue with your wood warping?

That desk is awesome BTW...

My garage isn't insulated and are you aware of how cold it actually gets outside here in February? Last winter it got down to -45F air temp and -65F windchill, ain't no space heater going to compete with that. When you guys in AZ are wearing parkas, we're busting out the shorts and tshirts.

And thanks! The legs shipped from MI yesterday so they'll be here tomorrow. Desk should be in its new home this weekend!

Working on it. Instead losing weight, I should start putting it on more.

I've been putting off insulating for years, mostly because we keep having the discussion on how much longer we'll live in this house and how much we want to put into it. When we moved in we were going to stay 3-5 years...that was 8 years ago lol.

Those coasters look great as does everything else. Can't wait to see the legs on the desk.

Once you do glue-up on coasters do you just sand them to make them flat cause I imagine they are too small to run through the planer?

Thanks man!

I flatten the whole blank before cutting them to size so it is big enough to run through the planer. Basically glue up the whole thing as a long, thin cutting board, then plane it and cut it into squares. I do a finish sand at the end and then finish with boiled linseed oil which is my new favorite finish because it's a wipe on that dries in 15 minutes.

Table legs arrived last Friday but haven't had a chance to do anything since I came down with the stomach flu Saturday night. Had me totally wrecked until Wednesday so the plan is to bring the big guy inside tomorrow. Going to need my neighbors help because it weighs in at 300lbs lol.

Got this guy finally wrapped up and installed. I did it a while ago but just forgot to post on here lol. Not great pics of the metal legs but they are raw and unfinished aside from a wax coating. Love how it turned out.

Also got these two end grain boards completed. They are basically the same aside from size, made out of cherry, maple, paduk, and leopardwood.

I like my wired setup! The mechanical keyboard is awesome and I've been using this mouse for years. It just feels like home.

Thanks! I have them priced at $60 for small, $75 for large. They aren't that big so lower price tag on these.

Over the weekend, the wife was like, "did you put in your order for the cutting board from your friend yet?"
So she's bugging me.. Let me know when you start again after the snow.

I was going to ask, how was that snow up by you!? Looked like a mess. Thankfully I was far enough south to just get a dusting! Duluth looked like it got about 20"!!!

It wasn't all that bad in the city. The a chunk of it hit on Tuesday night and Wednesday then we had a bit of a break on Thursday/Friday before it came back with a vengeance on Friday night through Sunday. Duluth got totally rocked on Saturday night with blizzard conditions and nearly 2ft of snow. They shut down I35 towards Duluth with a "DO NOT TRAVEL" warning and that's saying something for that part of the state. They don't shut down unless shit has gotten real.

Glad you missed it though! I heard MKE barely got anything.

I'm sure you're due for a big storm soon I wouldn't worry lol. In my 5 years in the MKE area, it always started later in the season because of the lake.
