I table would be awesome, shipping would kill it though.
A board may happen though.
I actually don't think it's that bad, I see lots of people doing it. The whole thing is knock down built so the legs are shipped unattached from the top and mount with bolts and threaded inserts.
My shop time is booking up for the summer so if you want a board let me know soon. I've done a lot more edge grain boards lately since they are cheaper and sell better. FWIW, they don't wear badly either. I use one on the daily and it still looks just fine, worst case hit it with some sandpaper. Anyway, I can flip around an edge grain board pretty quick and inexpensive. An end grain board takes a lot more time and effort and therefore costs more lol.
Finish for the table is finally done, legs will go on today or tomorrow and this one will be done! Going to wrap the end table part of it this weekend and get that one ready for finish shortly after. Unfortunately the finish I use takes 4+ days to apply because you need to wait 24hrs between coats and I do 4 coats. Fortunately the finish looks incredible when done.
Got the table totally wrapped this weekend! Got the legs mounted and I totally forgot to take a finished picture... Will do one this evening.
Next up is to get the end table completed. Got the whole thing glued up so now starts the sanding process that I hate so much.
Also got this big ass cutting board through the planer. Now to get it trimmed to size, sanded, and oiled. Should be done tomorrow. Also have one other board that I didn't take a picture of but it's already spoken for.
Thanks man. Just learning more of the ropes in how to use this thing. The learning curve is quite steep, and that's from an engineer who knows CAD work...
I think Pan or truss head ones would have looked better especially since the leg bracket isn't already countersunk
I am ashamed of your lack of attention to detail Sam

I thought the same thing when I saw it but figured I usually get crap saying I knit pick everything so I left it go. But I agree a nice button head allen screw would be great to finish it.
That being said the finished table looks fantastic. Great work as always.
Finally got some free time to get back out in the shop to make stuff. Got a good start on this walnut base for a round metal top that will sit on top of it. This is a picture of the dry fit, the gaps you see is just because it's sitting there not actually attached. Everything is now glued up and in clamps right now so I can get to sanding this evening!
Love when half lap joints come together...
I got the metal top from a friend for free because it was pretty tarnished and had some scratches in the finish. This is me sanding off the old stuff to get down to bare metal so I can re-polish the whole thing. My buddy told me that the top was copper but, after sanding, it's definitely not copper lol.
Looking good. Like the design of those legs. Might have to use that design.
I have the centerpiece cut from my egg table I have been meaning to eventually create into a small deck table. Was going to use an X design but like the look of those better.
Thanks gents. I took the leg assemblies out of the clamps tonight and somehow one of them warped while drying and was all kinds of lop sided. I was too pissed to take any pictures but I cut the joints apart, cleaned up the edges, redrilled the dominos and put it back together tonight. Hopefully this one holds...
Got the table base all sanded up and ready for finish over the weekend. Also finally got the end table that matches the first coffee table sanded up and ready to finish. I figure if I'm spending a ton of time on finish, I might as well do both at the same time... Unfortunately no pics of the end table, will post some soon though.
Here's a ROUGH mock up of what this thing will look like when done, complete with dust on top! The top still needs one final sanding at high grit and then get sealed with a clear coat to prevent any more rust from forming. There's already a good bit of it on there that I actually like the look of so I'm going to leave that there and just do a quick finish sand to get rid of any small surface oxidation before clear coating it.
