Funny, we were just talking about ours and after a few years with it, pretty happy still and the price can't be beat.

Is it pretty firm or soft? Any issues with edge support? Any warranty or return period if you don't like it? $400 is really hard to beat...

Like all the foam mattresses I tried, it feels very firm at first, but is super supportive and you never feel "pain points" because it forms to your shape. I had a family member sleep on it who has bad hips and back, and she was like WTF is this bed, I woke up with NO pain and that NEVER happens???!!

I sit on the edge all the time, it's fine, and feels just like all the foam mattresses.

The first one I received did not fully inflate on one of the corners. I called Amazon, and they shipped a new one to me and told me to donate the old one.

Honestly, for $359/King (price I paid) if it only last four or five years, I will be totally satisfied, and would buy another one to replace it. I love sleeping on it. we put this topper on it, too (

The Zinus is a SOLID mattress for the price! I had one before I upgraded to the Nectar as well. Had no complaints about it it and it was much better than the traditional mattress + 2" foam mattress that I was upgrading from

Thanks guys. After trying out far too many options, I think we're going to go with a Casper mattress. While we couldn't try the Zinus (obvs), we tried Purple, Nectar, Leesa, Saatva, Tempurpedic, Casper, etc and while most of them are really similar, the Casper is the only one that we both agreed on almost immediately.

We're going to go with the Wave Hybrid which, admittedly, is not at all cheap at ~$2500 but it was the one that both of us agreed was comfy. The rest of everything we tried was a solid "meh". I may pick up the Zinus for our spare room though...

All i can say is that if you are going to get a Zinus for the spare room, hold off on getting your main mattress until you try it. $2500-$400=lot's of play $...

Fair enough... I'll talk to the wife and see what she wants to do. As we all know, it's ultimately their call anyway.

I grabbed the King Zinus for under $250, if I recall correctly and like Stogs said, it is firm but supportive. The first few days were pretty rough for both my wife and I but we had been warned and after that, we wake up feeling great. As for the edges, I don't have any problems sitting there but I'm not a huge guy but no Twiggy.

I'd also recommend getting the spare room mattress first, I think you'll be pretty happy.

Damn, I've been reading reviews of the Zinus mattress and it seems pretty bad... Most people think it's comfy but filled with fiberglass and issues with inflating and other such problems cause me a bit of concern...

I'm going to be in the market for a new mattress very soon. Best time to buy a new one? Does it really matter, just stfu and get tempur-pedic/sleep number/whatever else?

Go try a bunch out, everyone is different. Even the online order companies have realized this and started to sell in furniture stores though you can still order online. Also, if you do go down this route, sometimes the furniture stores are actually cheaper. Found this out for both the Nectar and Purple mattresses.

I was worried too. I spoke to Amazon (and had a chat transcript) saying that if i didn't like the mattress, I could return it at no cost, so that put my mind at ease to at least try it.

We are starting to get more serious about finally replacing our 8 year old Tempur-Pedic. We’ve tried the Casper, hated the Wave but seemed to like to hybrid coil one. Spent a lot of time trying purple...hybrid 3 seemed best. But in searching a great but overwhelming mattress site called slumber yard I came across one called nest that seems to be the sweet spot both my wife and I...hoping to try one this weekend. There is a showroom right in Santa Monica

Ended up buying the Casper hybrid after trying all the models in the store. It was ~$1100 with the black friday sale so I'm happy with that. We were originally going to get the wave but ended up not being able to rationalize why it was more than double the price. Mattress should be here early next week.

We tried to the Casper hybrid again today, and I didnt love it. We also went and tried the Nest Signature Hybrid, and that is what we are going with...just need to figure out if we can agree on a firmness to stick with queen...or change everything and go King to get a split firmness.

Ordered the next signature hybrid in queen and medium firmness. I wanted plush but I’m compromising and medium is still pretty soft. With this line “firm” is more like a traditional medium.

^ Awesome. What did you not like about the Casper vs the Nest? I'll be honest I hadn't even heard about them. Also, I hadn't heard about sleep sherpa until now either. Turns out we have one here in town and I now feel like an idiot lol.

Is this the alexander signature hybrid.. Hmm.. with the lifetime warranty, if the foam pad or any of the layers divot / get lumpy, they'll replace no questions asked?

Well, the sales guy I was talking to at MattressFirm where we were trying the Purples was a big mattress nerd. So, he keyed me to this website called www.myslumberyard.com, and that opened a rabbit whole that I spent about 24 hours going down. That's how I discovered Nest and how, where and why it ranked.

After trying the Casper for a 2nd time, I didn't like that it was very reminiscent of our current Tempurpedic. It feels like a foam bed which we no longer like or enjoy. The pillow top foam design of the Nest masks that feeling and, to me, felt quite comfortable. But we'll obviously know more after actually sleeping in it.

We first tried the Casper a week ago at their Outlet store..and their deal was good. 2018 model was 40% off...a queen would have been less than $600. BUT no 100 night trial, and at this point in time I just wont risk it. The 2019 model was 10% off with the trial...but I wanted to check the Purple again...which lead us to Nest. And their sale right now is $300 off. So, the price is the same as the Casper.

So, if nothing else at you guys have the 100 night trial period with your Casper. You might love it...but if not youre covered.

They say their mattresses should ask 8-10 years just like anyone else but if there is any permanent dips of an 1" or more they'll replace it. Pretty standard. They also have a lifetime comfort guarantee. So, if I'm outside of the 100 day trail and we decide we picked the wrong firmness...or need a King, etc. We get 30% off the new mattress but its considered a final sale.

If something happens to the pillow top portion and its not covered...you can replace just that part for a few hundred with out having to buy a whole new mattress.

Hi All -

Just wanted to share this site as well - https://www.tuck.com/. Mrs and I just closed on our brand new house and will need a few new mattresses. We bought the Allswell Luxe Hybrid in the queen size as a test drive which will wind up in a guest room, before we buy a king. We've slept on it only a couple of nights and we have both been happy with it so far.
Happy reading...............

First night on the casper was yesterday. No regrets, super comfortable. Also love the king size vs the queen we had before.

We bought their pillows about 6 months ago. Absolutely amazing. Our Tempur Breeze is still good, so we won't be replacing it for a while, but some day...

Yeah, I really like the modular design where you can piece these things together.
