Yep. I can't imagine why I even bought GT5P...this is hands-down the worst game I've ever played...hell, it's even worse than Superman for the N64.

Don't worry, I'll get the 360 soon enough. However, I'm just so damned worry that my robots won't survive the inferno once the Godly MS machine goes on fire. I mean, I just with they'd solve that.

Yes the online play is fun don't listen to Yum he's a PS3 hater. This game is sick and GT5 will be even better.

Anyone beat S Class yet?

Damn Penalty system is kicking my ass!

It's like I take 1 step forward and 2 steps back!

 

Yeah I beat a few races but on the harder ones the penalty system is killing me.

 

Yea I did. I think for some of those S class events, you just have to use the standard mode instead of the professional mode. If you use the standard mode, it would be pretty easy to beat them...

And yea..the penalty system is a pain in the ass..even if they hit you from behind..you take the penalty...

 

i wonder when the actual Gran Turismo 5 comes out the price of the PS3 will go down again. i'll buy the PS3 when it goes down to $350 or $299

 

just played about 3 hours on a 46" at 720p with a seat setup and the G25. this game pwns.

 

Dammit...still don't have enough to buy the Aston Martin DB9!

 

Sad thing is that I bought the game for my buddies place so I could play on his 52' 1080p. I don't even own a ps3, but will in a few months.

That video looked great right up until it gave the player control over the car. Someone needs to take the controller away from him.

Tried playing online, it is kind of weird with the other cars erratic movement like that (is this everyone else's experience as well?). I don't see it possible to use it as anything other than a time comparison. I mean, you can't really "duel" another player online, as far as the strategies of racing are concerned. GTR on a LAN ftw, in that respect. At least, for now.

 

kinda reminds me of the initial D machines they had at gameworks in vegas. it was like $3 or $5 a play but well worth it.

only things I felt lacking about the setup I played on was:

a) the seat had no feedback whatsoever (a 'rumble-box' is available for the seat)
b) gearshift lever had zero resistance

We all felt these 2 things seriously hurt the experience. It's like, the on-screen experience was so fluid and dare I say realistic, yet with these 2 things ABSOLUTELY MISSING, it was just, kinda weird.

The gearshift lever is disappointing. It feels so cheap and toy-like, compared to the pedals for instance, each with its own level of resistance. I think they could have put just a little more into the gearshift. But hey, that's what V2 is for, right. Also, I felt the wheel was too thin. I have the Logitech MOMO F1 wheel (which of course is not compatible from GT4 on) - and the feel of that wheel > G25, by far.

 

Seriously. It's such a letdown from the legacy. I played GT4 today and love it waay more. They should have kept the same realistic handling.

I knew it was only a matter of time before Polyphony made the Nurburgring track, considering their sponsorship to the 24hr race and their help in the development of the R35.

Any more details on what that Black TT is? Is it like that BMW Driving Simulator?

Srika, what seat were you trying out? I am guessing that it was a Playseats with a G25 on it? If so, the seat is made by Playseats, not Logitech, so there would not be any feedback.

I think the reason the shifter doesn't have any resistance is due to the fact that you can turn a knob and switch it into "Sportshift" mode where it only moves up and down and springs back to the center.

FYI about the G25, the paddle shifters only work when the shifter is set to "Sportshift" mode. When it gets switched to "H Gate" mode, it automatically disables the paddles.

 

yeah it was a Playseats. and I was wrong, it was a 50". you're probably right about the shifter. it's still disappointing.

 

FWIW, I mostly tend to use the paddle shifters nowdays...

I still do switch to H-Gate though.

It was a Memorial Day BBQ, he set it up in there, with teh grill and food nearby and everyone being outside it worked out quite well. It's not a permanent setup. Also, people didn't have to keep going into the house. Also, he had just refinished his garage, so it was all spic and span - nice place to be.

 

nice setup...im using a 27" CRT TV..and then the other day, went to my friend's house with his 40" 1080p TV..what a huge difference....hmm anyways, when will the Nurburgring track get released?

 

I don't know when the Ring will be released ... I would guess with the full game but who knows, maybe Sony will surprise us with an update to GT5P..

All I have left for S is Suzuka and the F40 (which I can't afford yet) race!

The full game is gonna have damage, and I think they said they said they might incorporate it into an update for GT5:Prologue too

I hate the people who race online. I always brake for a turn and get hit from behind.
If I'm clear of everyone, nobody can touch me, but I manage to crash all the time when I have to deal with that large pack of cars.

 

If its anything like the add-on cars for anything on xbox (PGR's, Forza, etc) they'll update for a couple of months, then drop the ball.

Either way, I seriously doubt you'll see 10,000 cars.

 

My god thats $600 just in the seat and wheel controls. I would love to get the wheels controls though
