Yeah it is! I adjusted the settings of the GT with the quick tune option -which is available after beating class A- to 700hp and about 200kg weight reduction and still the best I got in the race is 3rd! You should turn on active stability management (ASM) I believe it's called, set it to strong and that will keep the GT in control! The GT isn't the best for cornering but for high speed tracks like daytona and the high speed ring I think it's the best. the tuned corvette is really good too and is better at cornering but not as fast.

I think it depends on how big of a Gran Turismo fan you are. For me, there's no way I would pass this up.

almost all the way through A, got maybe one or two races left. i don't hink it is that hard but deffinitly need to be on top of your game. right now i've just been doing races to get some credits.

i tried online the other night and i stopped playing after 5 minutes. both time i started and some jackass wants to T-bone me. i swear some of them don't care. i got pissed and said screw it.....then i put in COD4 and shot a few people then went back haha.

i seriously can not pick up the game for the next few weeks or i'm going to be screwed...i got so much work to do.

Wow, great deal on the DFP!

On my G25, I didn't have to configure anything for 900 degree. Just plugged it in and it worked. Didn't even need to be in the 1st USB port like some games.

When you use your DFP, can you feel the Force Feedback locking the wheel to 180 degrees?

Other things I would like to mention about the G25 and GT5P:

There is no G25 controller listed in the setup options. There are other Logitech wheels listed, and I don't know which wheel it is using for the config. I am guessing DFP.

You can switch between "H Gate" and "Shift Up/Down" modes at any time.

There is a knob you turn that locks the Shifter into up/down position that springs the shifter back to the middle after shifting when in "Shift Up/Down" mode.

When you switch to "H Gate" mode, the Paddle Shifters get disabled (obvously).

Reverse gear (press shifter down and to 6th) didn't seem to work.

Clutch does not work.

I just found a web page that says to enable the clutch, you have to press the the triangle button before or during a race. I am willing to bet that this will enable Reverse too.

Some of those races are impossible, it's really hard just to get bronze. For example the tracks Fuji and Suzuka in the Japanese 300hp car only race you start out 16th and you have to get to at least 3rd in 3 laps, I was able to do that while running a pretty much error free race but I got 3rd place and the 1st place guy still had 20 second on me! If you make one mistake like go off the track into the dirt you might as well start over cause you're not catching up, the competition drives really good which makes it close to impossible to get first place in 3 laps especially when you start out 16th!

I will say the secret is at those hairpin turns right after the long straight way you have to get aggressive and cut ahead 3 or 4 spots but don't go to fast in to the corner or you'll go right off the track and as mentioned above once you do that you might as well start over. the other secret is you really have to research your car! I'll give you a few hints as to the best car for the Japanese 300hp only races in Class A: it's the car with the highest hp/kg ratio and the most torque. To clarify there are two different cars that have the same hp and the same weight (which means the same hp/kg ratio) yet one is 1/3 the price of the other and it has more torque! This is the one you want!

let me know when you figure it out!
What car is it? I'm about to do this event and don't want to spend 110K on a 02 NSX I have a Evo IX but I don't think it will be enough. I'm thinking about buying a 02 RX7.

Yeah those asses online can get to you. I've done very good online in the beginner level with the BMW 1 series concept on the high speed ring usually I get top 5 almost everytime.

Bingo! It's got the same HP and weight as the NSX but has a little more torque and it's a 1/3 the price! You can't go wrong!

For close to the same amount you can get the Evo X and have a bunch more torque. I did and the races were not that tough anymore.

The Japanese series races in A class are fine to do with the Evo IX you need to buy for it's specific race. I placed first in them with just the Evo. Just practice if you're not getting it.

I just did a google for the G25 all I can say is ! What do you have yours setup on? Do you have a special table just for it? I'd like to know all the details, this maybe my next big purchase. Is there a hard learning curve going from a PS3 controller to this or is it just like driving a regular car?

I guess, but the Evo X weighs 600lbs (270 x 2.2 = 594)more so it wouldn't brake as well which means you'd have to brake sooner. With the rx 7 is was braking later than the other cars cause the RX-7 brakes faster which allowed me to catch up a little quicker.

I actually have my PS3 hooked up to a 22" computer monitor via HDMI to DVI cable.

My G25 Wheel and Shifter is hooked up to my computer desk and the pedals are on the floor with the carpet spikes holding it in place.

I've been using the GTR R35 for most races if I can, otherwise I will use the R34.

I did some testing yesterday.

Reverse works fine. I must have beend doing something wrong when I first tried.

I could not get the clutch to work. Pressing the triangle didn't do anything. If the shifter is in "Shift Up/Down" mode, triangle will reverse.

10,000 cars? Jesus..

It says it's only going to have ~340 to start, does that mean we will have to pay for additional cars? I'd really be disappointed if we did.

I was wondering why the braking was so out of wack. I then realized i was using the ebrake instead of the brakes.

Fun game so far! Steering is freaking sensitive. IMO

The list has the 04 and 06 or some year like those. It's the pre- and post-facelifted 1g but they didn't include the 2g.

these games are getting old and repetitive...not to mention....only 6 tracks??? this is a DEMO...not a full game....40 bucks for a DEMO??? no thanks!

Forza 2 is better than this game HANDS DOWN!!! maybe the "full" version of the new GT will be better but right now, Forza 2 still cannot be beat.
