PS3: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Big Block go VROOOM!
From an E3 interview with Kazunori Yamauchi, founder of Polyphony Digital.

So in other words, they're not even working on the full GT5 right now.
IGN:
Lastly, what's the status on the full Gran Turismo 5? Where are you at in production?
Kazunori Yamauchi:
Of course after this next update, we're going to have another update later on in the year. There's no plans in the works for GT5 yet - that might be 2009, or it might be 2010... But we're totally focused on getting the updates through for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and that's all we're focused on.

The penalties are killing me! I'm like one-third done with S Class.
edit: I just got the F40. It almost sucks stock. Gotta fiddle with the final gearing and add a touch of traction control to make it feel decent.

last I read, the final full version of GT5 is coming out sometime in 2010. Apparently there's something time-consuming about rendering photo-realistic exteriors and interiors for as many cars as they are going to have... along with the plentiful track selection. Add to that the possible damage modeling and other enhancements and you get some serious work. I personally don't have a problem with them taking their time and modeling everything in the glorious way that they do, I'd rather see them keep to their standards than lower it in the name of haste.

FYI The just released a new patch to the game today that adds 3 new cars and new online events
http://arstechnica.com/journals/thum...ew-cars-events
Polyphony Digital made many grand promises about patching out the demo-like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue with more content following its release earlier this year. And while fans may still have to keep waiting for the big update that is allegedly going to vastly improve the online racing and add in car damage, a lesser, incremental update for the game is now available for download.
The update adds three new cars and a few new online events to the game. The Lotus Evora, Ferrari California, and the newly-unveiled Citroën Concept known as the "GT by Citroën" join the growing list of cars. The patch also comes with a number of tweaks, including significant changes to the penalty system during Time Trial races, increased rewards for different race events, improved control responsiveness, and more. Sadly, as a result of the changes, rankings and records are being reset.
While this is certainly a hearty update for the game, we're still waiting for the big promised patch with car damage and improved online play. Without the full roster of tracks, courses, and events, there's only so much offline action that one can enjoy with Prologue. Hopefully Polyphony is planning something big for the holiday season to keep Gran Turismo fans sated for a few more long and bitter years.

Hmmm...I need some help on this:
Long story short, I had to reinstall GTP on the PS3 last night. Well, an update is needed for the game...I attempted it 3 times yesterday and it would download and once the meter reached about two-thirds through, it would say an error was encountered...
Anyone have any idea what's going on and how I can fix this...?
Thanks!
