If it's not over 345 or something, you can use it on the next set. For the beginner rally, I used a Prelude SiR with snow tires and an S2000 with dirt and tarmac.

In general stuff, I also got an NSX Zero from the used lot and just drove it around Nurburgring V, which combines both courses. It was just awesomeness, enough that I forgave the issues I have with the game.

yea i think i remember that, actually overtook the front 2 cars by late braking past them into the second to last turn.

NICE... Papyrus IndyCar Racing was like my favorite game ever.

one more comment... my friend had it too and we used to play it over 2400 baud modem. LOL.. also I believe this was the game that had a livery editor... I designed a full set of cars which were based off of album art of my fav music artists. supergeek.

 

did the engine rebuild and its 700 hp R33 woot.. i thought i maxed it out at 650

 

is there a list of tracks that were in previous GTs, but not in GT5.

one thing i dont see is the Seattle track, that was in GT3 and 4.
where is Hong Kong? Times Square? the Las Vegas drag strip?
where is that one really big circle test track where you can test the top speed of your car.

 

Yeah, I miss Seattle, that was one of my favorites. I definitely don't miss hong kong though. That track sucked. And SSR7 is the new top speed track

 

 

Special Stage Route 11 from GT3 is not in the game. I guess there are a few other twisted, super technical courses in its place, but I still miss that one. Midfield is also gone. I don't think I've seen Opera Paris from GT4; actually, I don't think if any of the rally stages from GT3 and 4 are in it.

Yeah, I loved Seattle. Hopefully it will be a download.

 

I suppose they would have had to redo the Seattle backdrop, since the old stadium is gone and the new one fully built, but it was also one of my favorites. I was kind of hoping the track editor would be good enough to recreate some of those tracks, possibly even other real ones like Mid-Ohio. Maybe there's a massive update coming.

In other annoying little things, I got a Mustang Mach 1 for the American Muscle race, did a practice run and found the top speed with the stock transmission was just over 100, so I decided to put in the full customized transmission. The sound changed from muscle car rumble to NASCAR whine. Just for a transmission. It's small, but for a game that obsessed over so many details, that seems a huge one to miss.

Edit - I've never tried Forza, since I don't play enough to justify multiple consoles, but I might have to. Did anyone play Grand Prix Legends for the PC? That was brutally tough. I friend had it, and I downloaded the demo. Just getting the car around the track without smashing it was a massive achievement.

 

yea, no its not really a good top speed track, its not completely straight.

i liked hong kong, it was way technical. imo.


also, is anyone else disappointed with the course maker? i really thought i could make some neat custom tracks, but thats not really how it works.

 

its a fun game for sure, but for how long ive waited, im a little disappointed. IMHO.

for those who have previous versions of GT series (including gt5p), any of you beat all gold for license in S class?

 

I got S class in GT4. All my friends wanted to copy my memory card so they can unlock some stuff. I doubt the difficulty increased in GT5 though.....

 

I remember that dash view like it was yesterday. Games have really come a long way.

 

I got all gold except for two races, which I didn't put much effort into. I'm gonna go back some day this week and finish them. I kinda feel like the S license was the easiest of all of them for getting gold

 

ive golded the a and b licenses entirely. having a tough time continuing that into the other licenses. im really trying to motivate myself in golding everything but its hard as hell.

 

wish there were more premium spoon cars, i mean a spoon CR-Z?? cmon!

 

Anyone got a 787B or equivalent that I can borrow for a day or so? I don't have 5.5 million credits to buy one yet and I just need to beat a couple races. I'll gift it back when I'm done. Could also use an SLS amg for one race if anyone has one.
